Murder Mystery 2 Maps: All 67 and the 15 You Can Play

Murder Mystery 2 has had 67 maps across its whole history, and you can only load into 15 of them today. The rest were taken out, kept for one season a year, or never finished at all.

This page lists every one, with the date it arrived, who built it, and how many hiding spots it has. Every number here comes from the game’s own map records.

The quick answer

12 maps are always in the vote. 3 more are in right now because it is summer, which makes 15 playable today. Another 13 come back for Halloween and Christmas.

The other 39 are gone: 13 were removed, 16 belonged to the first Murder Mystery, and 10 were never released.

Two answers are both correct here. If someone tells you this game has 12 maps they mean the permanent ones. If someone says 15, they are counting the summer maps that are live at the moment. Ask in December and the honest answer changes again.

How maps are picked

Before each round you get three maps to vote for in the lobby. Most votes wins, and if nobody votes the game picks one of the three at random.

Only maps that are switched on go into that draw. That is why the same 12 keep coming up most of the year, and why a handful of others suddenly appear for a few weeks each season.

Workplace is the oldest thing in this game that still works. It arrived in 2014 and has been in the vote for 12 years. Five of the six maps that came out the same month are gone.

No new permanent map since March 2020

Research Facility is the newest map in the permanent vote, and it landed on March 5th 2020. That is 6 years ago.

Every single map added since then is seasonal. 15 of them, for summer, Halloween and Christmas. If you started playing in 2021, you have never seen a new map join the everyday rotation.

That does not mean the game stopped growing. It means the new work goes into maps that visit for a few weeks and leave, so the everyday game you play in March looks the same as it did six years ago.

Two people built almost every map

Twenty eight maps are still in Murder Mystery 2 once you count the seasonal ones. Zyleak built 21 of them. Thexz built five, including Bank 2, Hotel 2 and Police Station.

Zyleak also built every seasonal map from Workshop in 2019 through to Ski Village in 2025. Sixteen seasonal maps in a row, all one person.

Pier, added on July 23, 2026, is the first seasonal map in seven years with nobody credited for it.

Every hiding spot on all 15 playable maps

These are 135 places that still work, sorted by how many each map has, most first.

Hotel 2 has 20 of them and Office 3 has 3. That is worth knowing before you vote. If you like surviving as an innocent, vote for the big ones. If you are hoping to be the murderer, the small maps are much kinder to you.

One spot people still pass around does not work any more. The kitchen sink in Mansion 2 used to swallow you whole. An update cut a chunk out of it and now you are visible in there, so it is not in the count below. It is the only dead spot of the 136 we checked.

In a part of the conveyor belt.
On the racks in the large room in the middle of the map.
Green tube in production room
On the doorway connecting the parking room with the large room.

(Need multiple People) Go to the magma bucket room and have multiple people jumping down below to get on top of the magma buckets.
You can also use the parkour technique of wall hopping to get to the magma buckets.

Bio Lab: 10 spots

The Evil Lair (Accessible by going through the column at the corner of the containment room).

Research Facility: 9 spots

Blue Liquid: There is a vat of harmless, blue liquid that players can hide in.
Red Liquid: Behind red tube on far right.
Red Tubes: Press a button to go inside the red tube on the far left or go behind the red tube on the far right to get inside.
Barrel: Players can go inside the barrel of hazardous toxic waste.
Garage: This can be found in the main room, if the lever is clicked, a garage door opens. The lever inside the garage is then used to close the garage door.
Vents: There’s a small system of vents that lead to various rooms in the facility.
Storage Area: There are many places players can hide in this room, for example: the shelving unit.
Secret Room: There’s a small room under the stairs in the storage area.
Role Machine: Players are able to slide in between the machine and the wall.

Hospital 3: 8 spots

In the closet in the office area.

Workplace: 4 spots

In the fridge in the kitchen.
Behind the boxes at the end of the long hallway.
Behind the doors in the offices.
Behind the computer desks with the sit emote.

Beach Resort: 4 spots

You can hide inside the indoor pool. Sit emote is recommended to reduce exposure.
There is one big locker to hide in in both changing rooms in the indoor pool.
There is a secret room behind the vases at the back of the spa room that you can hide in.
There is a secret room behind a cabinet door in the office near the reception desk.

Plenty of these need the sit emote to reach or to fit into. If you have not bought it yet, it is one of the cheapest things in the shop and it opens up a lot of this list.

These are not gone. They switch on during their event and switch off again afterwards, so missing one costs you a year, not forever.

The 29 maps that are gone for good

13 were taken out of Murder Mystery 2, usually when a newer version replaced them. The other 16 were only ever in the first Murder Mystery, which closed when this game opened in 2014.

You can see the pattern in the names. Bank became Bank 2, House became House 2, Hospital became Hospital 2 and then Hospital 3. Mineshaft came back as a Halloween map years later.

Some of these have no date recorded at all. The first Murder Mystery was updated several times a day back in 2014, and a few of its maps were only in the game for a handful of days before they vanished.

The 10 maps that never came out

These were built or started and then dropped. Nobody has ever played a round on them.

Beach House, Cargo, Casino, Castle Cove, Coliseum, Dodgeball Arena, Dungeon, Mall, Night Club and Zoo.

Two of them show up anyway if you know where to look. Beach House appears as scenery inside Hospital 3, and Night Club can be seen from nStudio. They were good enough to keep as decoration but never good enough to play.

The seasonal ones return every year on schedule. The 13 removed ones have not come back, though Mineshaft did return in a new form as a Halloween map.

The small ones. Office 3, Workplace and Beach Resort have three to four hiding spots each, so there is nowhere for anyone to disappear.

Who makes the Murder Mystery 2 maps?

Two builders between them. Zyleak has 21 of the 28 maps still in the game, and Thexz has five more.

Can you play the Murder Mystery 1 maps?

No. The first game closed when Murder Mystery 2 launched at the end of 2014, and its 16 maps went with it.
