How Weapons Work in Rivals
Before the tier breakdown, here is how weapon choice actually fits into a match. Every ranking below is judged against this loop.

Drop into a duel. Rivals runs 1v1 to 5v5 matches where the first side to a set number of kills wins, so every single weapon choice matters.

Pick up weapons scattered around the map. Each map spawns a mix of Primary, Secondary, Melee, and Utility weapons, and knowing the spawns is half the battle.

Why the Sniper splits opinion
One tracker, updated right after the June 2026 Summer Update, ranks the Sniper in S-tier thanks to a hitbox buff that made it much easier to land long-range shots. Another tracker with an otherwise very similar list still has the Sniper down in B-tier.
The most likely explanation is timing. The older list was probably written before that hitbox buff shipped. If you already like long-range play, it is worth testing the Sniper yourself in the current patch rather than trusting either list blindly.
A word of caution: some tier list sites online rank weapons that do not actually exist in Rivals, like a “Heavy Sniper” or “Freeze Ray.” Those are not real Rivals weapons, so treat any list using unfamiliar weapon names with suspicion. Everything on this page matches the real in-game weapon roster.
