Deepwoken Tier List
“Which weapon and attunement should you actually build around before you lose your character for good?”
Last Updated: July 2026
Deepwoken is the permadeath RPG where losing a fight can mean losing your whole character, so picking a weapon and attunement that actually works matters more here than in almost any other Roblox game.
The game has pulled in more than 1.5 billion visits since 2019 and is still being patched today, even though the crowd playing at any moment is smaller and more dedicated than a typical mass-market Roblox game.
Weapons and attunements are two separate systems, and every list online ranks them a little differently. We checked multiple current rankings to find what actually holds up.
New to Lumen? Our Deepwoken wiki covers the basics, and the Deepwoken codes page lists anything free you can claim before you start grinding.
Below is how weapons and attunements compare, plus exactly why the attunement rankings swing so much.
The Quick Answer
For weapons, the Shattered Katana (medium), Enforcer’s Axe (heavy), and Guns (ranged) are the consensus top picks across every list we checked. For attunements, Flamecharm and Thundercall both show up in the top tier everywhere, even though which one gets the literal #1 spot depends on who you ask.
How Builds Work in Deepwoken
Before the comparison, here is how a build actually comes together. Every ranking below is ranking one piece of this loop.
1
Pick a starting attunement. Flamecharm, Thundercall, Frostdraw, or Galebreathe. Advanced attunements like Shadowcast, Ironsing, Bloodrend, and Syllable can be unlocked later through in-game discovery.
2
Choose a weapon category. Light, Medium, or Heavy weapons, or unarmed Fists. Your weapon choice shapes your swing speed and damage far more than your stats alone.
3
Invest your stat points. Every level gives points to spend on strength, weapon skill, or your chosen attunement, and those choices are mostly permanent for that character.
4
Learn mantras and pick an Oath. You can equip up to six mantras at once, and Oaths like Blindseer, Jetstriker, and Contractor lock in your overall playstyle. Check the Deepwoken codes page for anything free before you commit resources.
Weapons Compared
Weapon rankings were the most consistent thing we found. Every source we checked agrees on the top picks below, category by category.
| Weapon |
Tier / Category |
Why |
| Shattered Katana |
S – Medium |
Fast swings and heavy damage that keeps scaling into the late game. The consensus best medium weapon on every list we checked. |
| Enforcer’s Axe |
S – Heavy |
The highest raw damage per swing of any heavy weapon, built for strength-focused builds that want to end fights fast. |
| Guns |
S – Ranged |
No melee weapon can match a gun’s range advantage, which is why ranged builds stay near the top of every list. |
| Serpent’s Edge |
A – Medium |
A strong second medium option behind the Shattered Katana, with a faster but slightly lighter swing pattern. |
| Petra’s Anchor |
A – Heavy |
A close second to the Enforcer’s Axe for heavy builds, trading a little raw damage for better reach. |
| Sacred Hammer |
B – Medium |
Still viable and easy to find early, but outclassed by the S and A tier medium picks once you can afford to upgrade. |
Attunements Compared
Attunements are where the rankings actually disagree. Here is the honest picture rather than one site’s exact letter grades.
| Attunement |
Standing |
Why |
| Flamecharm |
Consensus top pick |
One of two names that lands in the top tier on every ranking we checked, prized for consistent damage and pressure. |
| Thundercall |
Consensus top pick |
The other name that always ranks near the top, with a mix of damage, defense, and mobility in one kit. |
| Frostdraw |
Contested S/B |
Ranked S-tier on some lists for its control and damage, but knocked lower on others since its strengths are more passive than aggressive. |
| Galebreathe |
Mobility pick |
The best attunement if you want to close gaps and disengage fast, even though its raw damage lags behind Flamecharm and Thundercall. |
Why do attunement tier lists disagree? One current ranking puts Flamecharm at the very top of the attunement list, calling it the most complete kit in the game. Another puts Thundercall, Frostdraw, and the advanced pick Shadowcast at S-tier instead, sliding Flamecharm down to A. What both agree on is that Flamecharm and Thundercall are always somewhere in the top tier, just not always in the same order. Frostdraw is the biggest swing of all, landing anywhere from S-tier to a much lower spot depending on the source, since its strengths lean passive rather than aggressive, which some rankings reward and others do not. Treat Flamecharm and Thundercall as the safest picks, and treat Frostdraw as something worth testing yourself before committing to it.
Tips for Building in Deepwoken
- Pick your attunement based on playstyle first, tier list second. Flamecharm and Thundercall are strong, but a build you actually enjoy playing survives longer.
- Do not overcommit stat points early. Permadeath means a bad build only costs you time, but a bad late-game respec costs a lot more.
- Match your weapon category to your attunement. Heavy weapons and high-damage attunements like Flamecharm both want strength investment, so pairing them avoids wasted stat points.
- Test contested picks like Frostdraw yourself in low-stakes fights before building a whole character around them.
- Watch for advanced attunements. Shadowcast, Ironsing, Bloodrend, and Syllable are not starter options, but they are worth learning once you know the basics.
- Check the Deepwoken codes page before you grind, in case there is a free stat reset or item on offer.
