Rivals Tier List
“Which weapon should you actually main?”
Last Updated: July 2026
Rivals is a fast competitive FPS by Nosniy Games with around 176,000 people playing at once, and it is built around aim and movement rather than pay-to-win unlocks. Your weapon choice still matters a lot, though.
This guide ranks every weapon, lists the full loadout by slot, and picks the best option for each situation. It also warns you about the fake weapons some other tier lists invent.

The Quick Answer
The best weapon is the Assault Rifle: fast time-to-kill, low recoil, and it works at every range. Permafrost and Exogun round out S-tier, and the Sniper is climbing fast after its Summer Update hitbox buff.
Watch out for tier lists with weapons that do not exist
Several Rivals tier lists you will find are written by tools that invent weapons. If a list mentions a “Heavy Sniper”, “Pulse AR”, “Freeze Ray”, “Chainsaw”, “Battle Axe”, or “cyber armor”, it is not describing this game. None of those are in Rivals.
Every weapon on this page is a real, current weapon in the game.
How Weapons Work in Rivals
Your loadout has four slots: a Primary, a Secondary, a Melee, and a Utility. You are not picking one weapon, you are building a kit, so the best players cover multiple ranges across those four slots.
Rivals Weapon Tier List
Every weapon ranked for the current meta. Rivals rewards aim, so a mastered B-tier can beat a fumbled S-tier, but these are the ceilings.
| Tier |
Weapons |
Why they rank here |
| S |
Assault Rifle, Permafrost, Exogun |
Work at every range with low recoil and a fast time-to-kill. The safest picks in almost any match, and the current meta backbone after the Summer Update. |
| A |
Minigun, Burst Rifle, Gunblade, Uzi, Energy Pistols, Katana |
Strong all-rounders that need a bit more practice. Gunblade is the most versatile, switching between ranged and a dash-in melee. |
| B |
Shotgun, Crossbow, Energy Rifle, Revolver, Sniper |
Solid weapons that lean on the right map and range. The Sniper climbed here after its Summer Update hitbox buff, so it is trending up. |
| C |
Bow, RPG, Distortion, Spray, Slingshot |
Situational picks that can still work in the right hands, but are not the safe choice for ranked. |
Every Weapon by Loadout Slot
Here is the part most tier lists skip: the full weapon list organized by the slot it fills. Since you equip one from each slot, this is how you actually build a loadout.
| Slot |
Weapons |
What to know |
| Primary |
Assault Rifle, Burst Rifle, Minigun, Shotgun, Sniper, Crossbow, Energy Rifle, Spray, Bow |
Your main gun and the bulk of your damage. Assault Rifle is the safest primary, the Sniper the highest-skill one. |
| Secondary |
Uzi, Energy Pistols, Revolver, Slingshot |
Your backup for when the primary runs dry or a target gets close. Uzi is the best panic option up close. |
| Melee |
Gunblade, Katana, Daggers |
Close-quarters finishers. Gunblade doubles as a ranged weapon, which is why it rates so highly. |
| Utility |
Permafrost, RPG, Distortion, Grenade Launcher, Flamethrower, Exogun |
Zone control and burst tools. Permafrost and Exogun are strong enough to shape a whole fight, not just chip damage. |
Match your weapon to the range you fight at most.
Best Weapon for Every Goal
| Your goal |
Weapon |
Why |
| Best weapon overall |
Assault Rifle |
Fast time-to-kill, low recoil, and it works at every range. The safest pick in the game. |
| Best for close range |
Uzi or Shotgun |
Raw speed and damage up close, where accuracy matters less. |
| Best for long range |
Sniper |
One-shot potential, and it got a real hitbox buff in the Summer Update. |
| Best for zoning |
Permafrost |
Locks down a doorway or choke instead of relying on a clean shot. |
| Best all-rounder |
Gunblade |
Switches between ranged fire and a dash-in melee with no delay. |
| Best for beginners |
Assault Rifle |
Forgiving recoil and consistent damage while you learn the maps. |
The Summer Update on June 27, 2026 reshaped the meta: snipers got bigger hitboxes and shotguns got a damage bump, which is why the Sniper is trending up. Rivals rebalances often, so we keep this page current. Grab free rewards on the Rivals codes page.
Tips for Picking a Weapon
- Start on the Assault Rifle. It is the most forgiving weapon in the game while you learn maps and movement.
- Build a kit, not a favourite. Cover close, mid and long range across your four slots.
- Rivals is about aim, so pick a weapon you can actually hit shots with over the strongest one on paper.

Rivals Tier List FAQ
What is the best weapon in Rivals?
The Assault Rifle. It has a fast time-to-kill, low recoil, and works at every range, which makes it the safest pick in the game. Permafrost and Exogun join it in S-tier.
Is the Sniper good now?
Yes, more than before. The June 2026 Summer Update buffed sniper hitboxes, pushing it up the list toward the top of B-tier and into some players’ S-tier.
Why do some tier lists list weapons I cannot find?
Because some are written by tools that invent weapons. Names like Heavy Sniper, Pulse AR, or Freeze Ray are not in Rivals. Every weapon on this page is real.
How many weapon slots are there?
Four: Primary, Secondary, Melee, and Utility. You equip one from each, so your loadout is a kit rather than a single weapon.
Does Rivals have codes?
Yes. Check our Rivals codes page for the current list.
