How to Get Skins in Rivals
“How do I get cool skins, and can I get them for free?”
Rivals is a fast first person shooter where you battle other players with all kinds of guns and melee weapons. Skins change how those weapons look, and some even add cool sounds and animations.
The game has more than 400 skins, so it is easy to feel lost. The good news is there are only a few real ways to get them, and one of them is totally free. This guide breaks down each one, with the real prices and the smart free trick.
Want the best guns to put those skins on? See our Rivals weapon tier list. You can also grab free keys from the codes page.
The three main ways to get a skin in Rivals, plus the free Skin Ticket trick.
The Quick Answer
There are three main ways to get a skin in Rivals:
- Open a Skin Case. Each case gives one random skin.
- Buy one from the Daily Shop. Five skins change every day.
- Spend Skin Tickets. These are free, and 10 tickets buy any skin you want.
Skin Tickets are the best free path, so most of this guide shows how to earn and use them.
What Is a Skin in Rivals?
A skin is a cosmetic item. It changes the look of a weapon, and sometimes its sound or animation. A skin does not change how much damage a gun does or how fast it shoots.
Because skins are only for looks, you never have to buy one to be good at the game. They are just a fun way to show off. Skins come in rarities, and rarer skins usually look flashier.
| Rarity |
What it means |
| Common |
The most basic skins, easy to find in cases and the shop |
| Rare |
A step up, often with a custom sound or small effect |
| Legendary |
The flashiest case skins, with special sounds and animations |
| Glorious |
A special ranked reward skin, one for every weapon |
| Mythical |
Very rare skins from yearly bundles, like the Warpeye |
Skin Cases (The Main Way)
Skin Cases are the most common way to get skins. You open a case and get one random skin from that case. There are 270 skins you can unbox from cases in total.
Three cases are always in the shop: Skin Case 1, Skin Case 2, and Skin Case 3. Each one costs 249 Robux, or you can buy all three together for 724 Robux to save a little. Each case holds about 44 skins.
Three more cases are seasonal: the Summer, Festive, and Spooky cases. These only show up during their events, but they come back each year. The best part is that you can open any case with free Skin Tickets instead of Robux.
| Case |
Type |
About how many skins |
| Skin Case 1 |
Always in shop |
44 |
| Skin Case 2 |
Always in shop |

| Skin Case 3 |

| Summer Skin Case |

46 to 48 |
| Festive Skin Case |

| Spooky Skin Case |

A case gives a random skin, so you might get one you already own. The game does not post the exact odds for each rarity. As an example, Skin Case 1 holds 19 Legendary, 15 Rare, and 9 Common skins, but the rarer ones are still harder to pull.
Skin Tickets (The Free Trick)
Skin Tickets are a special free currency, and they are the smartest way to get skins. Here is the best part: any skin or any case costs just 10 tickets, no matter its rarity. A Legendary skin costs the same 10 tickets as a Common one.
Using a Skin Ticket is easy. Open the Shop and pick a case or a Daily Shop skin. Then choose the 10 Skin Tickets option instead of paying Robux. That is all there is to it.
So how do you earn tickets? These are the free ways to get them:
| Where tickets come from |
How many |
| The Season Pass |
10 tickets (about one free skin each season) |
| The Prime Season Pass |
10 more tickets, plus extras from Prime Goodie Bags |
| Buying a UGC in the UGC Shop |
1 ticket for your first buy |
Watch out for this trap. If you refresh the Daily Shop using keys, the Skin Ticket option is turned off for those items until the next day. This is on purpose, not a bug. So use your tickets before you refresh with keys.
The Daily Shop
The Daily Shop shows five skins that change every day. This is a good place to grab one skin you really want, instead of hoping for it in a random case.
You can buy a Daily Shop skin with Robux, and the price depends on its rarity. Or you can pay 10 Skin Tickets for any of them, which is the better deal.
| Daily Shop skin |
Robux price |
Or pay with tickets |
| Common |
299 Robux |
10 Skin Tickets |
| Rare |
449 Robux |
10 Skin Tickets |
| Legendary |
599 Robux |
10 Skin Tickets |
Do not like the five skins on offer? You can refresh the shop with keys to get five new ones. The first refresh costs 3 keys, and the price doubles each time, up to a max of 24 keys. Remember that refreshing with keys blocks the ticket option, so pick carefully.
Every way to get a skin in Rivals, from free tickets to paid cases.
How to Get Keys
Keys are the main free currency in Rivals. A common mix-up is thinking keys buy skins directly. They do not. Keys are used to refresh the Daily Shop, buy weapons and upgrades, and grab wraps, charms, and finishers. Still, more keys means more shop refreshes, which helps you find the skin you want.
You earn keys for free by playing:
- Finishing Contracts (both Weapon and Map contracts).
- Completing daily Tasks.
- Redeeming codes for free key rewards.
You can also buy keys with Robux in key bundles if you want to speed things up:
| Key bundle |
Cost |
Keys you get |
| Key Bundle |
49 Robux |
10 keys |
| Mega Key Bundle |
199 Robux |
40 keys |
| Super Key Bundle |
449 Robux |
90 keys |
| Ultra Key Bundle |
2,199 Robux |
450 keys (plus an exclusive Key Skin) |
| Legendary Key Bundle |
4,999 Robux |
1,100 keys (plus an exclusive Key Skin) |
Glorious Skins (A Free Ranked Reward)
There is one more free skin type worth chasing: Glorious skins. Every one of the game has 48 weapons, and every one has its own Glorious skin. They look amazing.
You buy them in the Ranked Shop for 1,000 Glory each. Glory is a free currency you earn by playing Ranked matches. You can only earn up to 3,000 Glory a season, so the most Glorious skins you can own right now is 8. That number will grow as more seasons pass.
How to Get Skins for Free
You do not need Robux to build a nice skin collection. Here are the best free ways, all in one place:
- Season Pass tickets. Earn up to 10 Skin Tickets each season, enough for one free skin or case.
- UGC Shop tickets. Buying a UGC gives you a ticket, and buying 25 UGCs unlocks a special Fist skin.
- Codes. Our Rivals codes page lists free keys, and a special code once gave everyone a 10 Billion Visits skin.
- Ranked rewards. Each Ranked season gives two free skins, one for 200 wins and one for reaching the top Archnemesis rank.
- Glorious skins. Spend free Glory in the Ranked Shop.
- Events and quests. Special events hand out skins, like the Birthday Candle knife from the 2nd Birthday party.
The fastest free plan is simple. Save your Season Pass tickets, then spend them on a case or a Daily Shop skin you really like.
Good to know: Skin Cases are turned off in some countries because of local rules about random rewards. If you cannot open cases where you live, you can still get skins from the Daily Shop, ranked rewards, Glory, and events.
Updated July 2026. Rivals adds new skins and cases often, and the bundle skins rotate. Right now the Legendary and Ultra Key Bundles include exclusive Key Skins like the Keyblade and Keyshot. The 2026 Pearl Bundle also added the Riptide Katana. The ways to get skins stay the same, and we keep this guide current.
