Steal An Egg puts you on a map with something enormous and asleep, and an egg sitting under it. You take the egg, run home with it, and hatch whatever is inside into a pet that earns you money for as long as you keep playing. Six other people share your room and they are allowed to rob you on the way back, which is what turns a simple errand into a game.

How to Play Steal An Egg
- Join and let your base load. New players get put in their own area first, so nobody can rob you while you work out the buttons.
- Find something big and asleep, and take the egg it is sitting on. That is the whole game in one sentence.
- Carry it home without being caught. The six other people in your room can take it off you on the way.
- Hatch it. Whatever comes out sits at your base and earns you money the whole time you are playing.
- Put the money into your base first, then the treadmill. The treadmill is what makes you faster.
- Once you are fast, go for the bigger creatures and start robbing other players instead of nests.
Steal An Egg Gameplay: The Thing You Rob Is Asleep
The game page says you steal eggs from pets and leaves it there. The pictures fill in the bit that matters.
In two of the four official shots the creature is plainly asleep. One has the little Z letters floating over a dragon, another has a tyrannosaurus lying flat out on the sand. A third shows a pair of eggs sitting in a nest with a yeti standing over them. So it is not a fight. You are taking something while its owner is not looking, and getting away with it.
That explains why the treadmill is the most important thing in the game. Speed is not a bonus here, it is the difference between reaching the egg and reaching your base again.
One warning about the pictures. Two of them print an amount of money per second on the egg, and it is the same amount on two completely different eggs. Those numbers are decoration, so do not plan around them.

More than 74 million people have opened this game since 25 July, and 6,897,451 of them arrived in a single day. Roblox counts that itself, so it is about as solid as a number gets.
Two things in that table are not what you would expect. Secret sounds like the top prize and Divine sounds like a middle one, but Secret is 38 times more common. Hatching a Divine is the rarest thing here by a mile.
And more players have the Divine trail than have ever hatched a Divine, better than two to one. Whatever the trail is, you clearly do not need the pet to get it.

Four of the five rungs are being cleared faster now than they ever have been. The treadmill badge has more than doubled its rate, and the two hatching badges are running about half again as fast.
One rung is going the other way. Hatching a Divine is slightly harder to come by today than it has been on average, and it is the only rung on the board doing that.

Both went on sale on 3 August, nine days after the game opened, and nothing has been added since.
They are both multipliers. Neither one hands you a pet, unlocks an area or skips a step. Everything in the game is still reachable without paying, you just get there sooner if you do.
The Studio Name Is Half a Sentence
The group that owns this game is called and Collect Rare Pets. That is the whole name, starting with the word and.
Look at the game page and you can see why. Roblox prints the game name, then the word by, then the group name, so the line reads Steal An Egg by and Collect Rare Pets. The title and the maker join up into one sentence about what the game is.
The group has 31 million members, which is roughly 4 in every 10 people who have ever opened the game. Its page is completely blank. No description, no announcements, nothing.
The studio is not casual about the game itself, though. Beside the one everybody plays it keeps six more copies, and the names give away how they work: one for building, a second for building, one for testing, one for checking the rules, one admin panel, and one called ready to publish. That is a proper release process on a game five weeks old.
Tips for New Steal An Egg Players
- Buy the treadmill before anything else. Speed decides whether you get home with the egg, so it pays for itself faster than a bigger base.
