Try To Die

Last Updated: August 2026  |  Badge, level and shop numbers checked against the live game.

Try To Die takes the usual rule and turns it upside down. Dying is not losing here, it is the only way forward, and every room is a small puzzle about working out how to get yourself squashed, zapped or dropped. There are more than a hundred of them, and the average visit runs nearly sixteen minutes.

This page has the whole level ladder, all 23 badges including five you cannot see on the game page, every pass, and one badge number that quietly tells you the ending used to be somewhere else.

How to Play Try To Die

  1. Look for the dangerous thing, not the safe one. That is the whole change in thinking this game asks for.
  2. Touch everything. Buttons, spikes, machines and drops are all answers rather than mistakes.
  3. Watch what the other eleven players are doing. Somebody is usually a room ahead.
  4. Do not rush the early rooms. Seven in ten players clear the first ten levels, and it gets steadily thinner after that.
  5. Come back during a hunt. The game runs seasonal events with their own badges.
  6. Send the developer a level idea through the group. The game page asks for them.
  7. Keep going after level 80. The old ending was around there and the newer rooms are past it.

Try To Die Gameplay: Rooms, Deaths and Levels

Each room is a small sealed puzzle. Something in it can kill you, and finding that thing is how the door to the next one opens.

The rooms get stranger as you go. Early ones are obvious, later ones hide the answer behind a machine or a timing trick.

There is no money in this game at all. No coins, no shop currency, nothing to farm, which is why there is nothing for a code to give you.

Two things to know before you start. Private servers are switched off, and twelve people share a room, so you will usually have company.

The Level Ladder

Milestone Players who got there Share of everyone who joined
Level 10 13,540,898 About 70 in every 100
Level 20 9,522,614 About 49 in every 100
Level 30 6,919,932 About 36 in every 100
Level 40 5,761,495 About 30 in every 100
Level 50 4,694,972 About 24 in every 100
Level 60 3,984,407 About 20 in every 100
Level 70 3,429,187 About 18 in every 100
Level 80 3,064,763 About 16 in every 100
Finished 2,655,119 About 14 in every 100
Level 90 2,216,905 About 11 in every 100
Stage 100 1,408,672 About 7 in every 100

This is one of the gentlest ladders we have measured. There is no wall anywhere, just a steady thinning out from level to level.

About 7 in every 100 players who join reach level 100, which is a generous finishing rate for a game this long.

One caveat on all of it. The welcome badge was added six weeks after the game opened, so the earliest players are missing and every count here is a floor.

The Badge That Says The Ending Moved

Look again at where Finished sits in that table. It is between level 80 and level 90, which makes no sense at first glance.

The dates explain it. That badge was made six weeks after the game opened in 2023, and every single level badge was made in 2025.

So Finished counts everybody who beat the game when it was much shorter. The game kept growing past its own ending, and the badge stayed where it was.

There is a smaller oddity too. Every level badge is called Level and then a number, except level 80, which is spelled in lower case.

Ten Events, Five Of Them Hidden

Event badge Finishers Status
Brick Hunt, March 2025 42,213 Switched off
Egg Hunt 2026 18,644 Still on the list
Classic Hunt, May 2024 15,875 Switched off
Halloween Event 2025 2,948 Still on the list
Egg Hunt 2025 2,894 Switched off
Christmas Hunt 2025 2,127 Still on the list
Halloween Event 2024 1,767 Switched off
Christmas Hunt 2024 883 Switched off

Once an event finishes here, its badge gets switched off and stops showing on the game page. Five of them have gone that way, so half the game’s event history is invisible.

The biggest was Brick Hunt in March 2025 with 42,213 finishers, and it is one of the hidden ones.

Compare the pairs and the events are growing. Halloween went from 1,767 finishers to 2,948, and Christmas from 883 to 2,127.

The Rarest Badge In A Game About Dying

There is a badge called Death Master for dying a thousand times. It has 234 holders.

That is the rarest thing in the game by a very long way, and it is funnier than it looks. Dying is the entire point here, and almost nobody has done it a thousand times.

The reason is simple enough. Most players die once per room, so finishing all hundred levels only gets you a tenth of the way there.

The Shop

Pass Price What it does
Slap Hand 299 Robux The priciest thing in the shop
VIP 149 Robux The usual perks pass
Speed Coil 129 Robux Move faster between rooms
BlackHole 79 Robux A death effect, which is very on brand here
Galaxy Trail 39 Robux A trail behind you
Rainbow Trail 39 Robux Another trail
Adopt Dog 29 Robux A pet to follow you around
Adopt Cat 29 Robux The other pet

Eight passes and 792 Robux for all of them, which is one of the cheapest shops we have written up. Nothing in it skips a level or solves a room.

A ninth pass, a starter pack, was taken off sale in January 2025 and has not come back.

Codes and Scripts

There are no codes and no code box. Our Try To Die codes page covers the events the game runs instead.

One script loads and it needs no key. Our Try To Die script page has it, and it turns out to be two buttons that kill you.

Tips for New Try To Die Players

  • Stop protecting yourself. Every instinct you have from other games is wrong here.
  • Check the ceiling and the floor. Plenty of answers are not at eye level.
  • Follow somebody who knows the room, then work out why it happened.
  • Do not buy the speed coil to solve a puzzle. It moves you between rooms, not through them.
  • Play during a hunt if you can. The event badges are free and some are very rare now.
  • Keep playing past the old ending. There are twenty more levels past where the game used to stop.
  • Do not worry about dying badly. That is the game.
