Escape 99 Rooms

Last Updated: August 2026  |  Badge, shop and player numbers checked against the live game.

Escape 99 Rooms drops you in a locked room and asks you to get out of it. Some rooms want four digits typed into a keypad, some want an object you have to spot, and some want a jump you have to time. Every door you open leads to another room that does it again, and spikes, traps and the other players in your server are all trying to slow you down. The game’s own description puts it as 99 rooms between you and the truth.

This page covers how far people really get, what Stage 2 is and why the name undersells the size of the game, everything the shop sells and the odd way it is priced, and how busy the game is now that it has an ending.

How to Play Escape 99 Rooms

  1. Like the game and join the group before you start. The description offers a free item for it and prints the game’s only code, 6481, right underneath.
  2. Look at the whole room before you touch anything. The answer to a keypad is almost always somewhere on the walls, the floor or an object you can move.
  3. Type keypad answers exactly. They are four digits and the door does nothing if one is wrong.
  4. Watch what other players do. Servers hold 15 and somebody ahead of you has probably solved the room you are stuck in.
  5. Keep moving through traps. Spikes and closing walls are timing, not puzzles, so learn the rhythm rather than rushing them.
  6. Aim for room 25 first. Half of everybody who plays reaches it and the badge tells you the game is going in.
  7. Carry on past room 99. Stage 2 opens straight after it and the game is only about half over at that point.

Escape 99 Rooms Gameplay: Rooms, Keypads and Stage 2

The loop never changes and that is the appeal. One room, one lock, one way out. What changes is the kind of lock, and the game keeps inventing new ones rather than repeating the same keypad for a hundred rooms.

The keypad rooms are the ones people search for help with. Four digits, hidden somewhere in the room, and the same answer for everybody who plays it. That is different from the code the developer prints on the game page, which is a one off.

Other players are part of the puzzle, invited or not. The shop sells a knife and a freeze gun that work on other people, so a room can go wrong because somebody else decided it should. There is a 49 Robux pass that makes you immune to both.

Room 99 is not the finish. Clearing it moves you into Stage 2, which the game keeps as a separate area, and the developer says the two together now hold 180 rooms. A visit lasts about sixteen minutes, so most people are chipping away at this over many sessions.

How Far People Actually Get

Badges land at rooms 25, 50, 75 and 99, at the start of Stage 2 and at the ending, so the whole drop-off is public.

Point in the game People who got there Share of everyone who joined
Joined the game More than 43 million This is the joining badge
Room 25 22,464,427 About 52 in every 100
Room 50 8,891,883 About 21 in every 100
Room 75 3,583,214 About 8 in every 100
Room 99 2,062,613 About 5 in every 100
Stage 2 1,816,050 About 4 in every 100
The ending 17,502 About 1 in every 2,460

Read that from the top and it does something unusual. Half the players fall away before room 25, then each gate keeps a bigger share than the one before it. Room 75 to room 99 keeps 58 in every 100, and room 99 to Stage 2 keeps 88.

Then the last step. Of the 1.8 million who reached Stage 2, 17,502 have the ending badge, which is about one in a hundred of them and one in 2,460 of everybody who ever joined.

There is a fair reason for that. The ending badge was only created on 26 June 2026, the same day as the game’s last update, so the finish line has existed for two months of the game’s eleven. Today about one player in 400 finishes on any given day, which is six times the lifetime rate and rising.

Why 99 Is Not The Room Count

The name is the number the game launched with. The description now says there are 180 rooms, and it has said a bigger number every few months.

You can watch that happen in the game’s own title. Through November and December 2025 it carried a number in brackets that climbed from 20 to 30 to 45, which is how the developer advertised each batch of new rooms. The tags stopped in March 2026.

Then came June, and the biggest update of the lot arrived with no tag at all. That was the one that added the ending, and it is the reason the last badge exists.

What You Can Buy

Item Price What it does
Freeze Gun 249 Robux Freezes other players for ten seconds
VIP 199 Robux The all round pass
Knife 149 Robux Kills other players
Magic Carpet 69 Robux A fast flying carpet, in the developer’s words
Anti Troll 49 Robux Makes you immune to being frozen or killed
Christmas items 20 Robux each A giftbag, a Grinch and a puppy from December 2025
Dragon 15 Robux A pet that follows you around
Pets 10 Robux each Monkey, Bee, Spider, Bunny and Alien

Everything together is 840 Robux, which is small for a game with 77 million visits. Nothing has ever been taken off sale, and most of the list is pets at 10 or 20 Robux.

The pricing at the top is the interesting part. The game sells you a knife that kills other players for 149 and a gun that freezes them for 249. Then it sells immunity to both for 49, and the description of that pass names the two passes it protects you from.

Three Christmas items from December 2025 are also still on the shelf in August, which is a small sign of how often this shop gets tidied.

How Busy It Is Now

The record is 22,681 players at once and it was set on 21 July 2026, five weeks before this page was written. For a game eleven months old, that is a record set late rather than at launch.

It has come off that spike since. The busiest moment in the last month reached 12,449 and it now runs around 1,300, with about 46,500 people joining every day.

The studio behind it is small. The group has made eight games and this one accounts for over 99 percent of everything they have ever had played, so it is fair to say the whole studio is this game.

Codes and Scripts

The game has one code, 6481, and the developer prints it on the game page under the free item line. Our Escape 99 Rooms codes page explains why the four digit door answers people search for are a different thing entirely.

Two scripts load for this game, and one of them is short enough to read line by line. Our Escape 99 Rooms script page covers both, plus the search result that is really a Windows download.

Tips for New Escape 99 Rooms Players

  • Join the group first. The free item costs nothing and the game’s only code sits in the same paragraph.
  • Search the room, not the internet. Most keypad answers are painted, stacked or hidden in the room you are already standing in.
  • Buy the 49 Robux immunity before anything else if other players keep ending your run.
  • Treat room 50 as the real test. Only one player in five gets there, and the rooms after it let more people through than the ones before it.
  • Play in a full server when you are stuck and an empty one when you want quiet. Both are useful for different rooms.
  • Do not stop at room 99. Nearly everyone who clears it goes straight into Stage 2, and that is where most of the game now lives.
  • Expect several sessions. A visit averages sixteen minutes and the ending has gone to fewer than 18,000 people.

Escape 99 Rooms FAQ

How many rooms are there in Escape 99 Rooms?

The developer’s description says 180 right now. The name comes from the 99 rooms it launched with, and Stage 2 holds the rest.

It is the one code the developer prints on the game page, sitting under the offer of a free item for liking the game and joining the group. It is not a keypad answer for a room.

How many people have finished the game?

17,502, against more than 43 million who have joined. The ending badge was only added in late June 2026.

What is Stage 2?

The part of the game that opens after room 99. About 88 in every 100 players who clear room 99 walk straight into it.

Can other players stop me?

Yes. The shop sells a knife and a freeze gun that work on other people. A 49 Robux pass makes you immune to both.

How much is everything in the shop?

840 Robux for all fourteen items, and most of them are pets at 10 to 20 Robux each.

Is the game still being updated?

The last update landed on 26 June 2026 and it added the ending. The busiest day the game has ever had came a month after that.
