Last Updated: August 2026 | Badge, shop and player numbers checked against the live game.
Scary Escape Rooms drops you into a locked room with something in it that wants your run to end. Saw blades, traps, dark corners. You work out the way out, the door opens, and the next room does it again. The game hands out a badge every ten rooms, so you can see exactly how far you have got and exactly how far everybody else stopped.
This page covers the whole drop-off room by room, the badge that has never been given to a single player, what the two item shop sells and what was taken off it, and the other escape games the same studio runs.

How to Play Scary Escape Rooms
- Look at the whole room before you move. Most rooms hide the way out in plain sight, and most deaths come from rushing.
- Watch what is moving. Blades and traps run on a rhythm, so counting one cycle before you step out is usually enough.
- Follow somebody ahead of you if you are stuck. Servers hold 15 and there is normally a player a few rooms in front.
- Take the badges as checkpoints. One lands every ten rooms and each one tells you where you sit against everybody else.
- Expect the hard part at room 50. That stretch loses more people than any other, and it is not you.
- Keep going after 60. The rooms after the wall let more people through than the ones before it.
- Do not count on an ending. There is a badge for escaping and no player has ever been given it.
Scary Escape Rooms Gameplay: Rooms, Traps and Badges
The loop is simple and it never changes. One room, one way out, one thing trying to stop you. What changes is the trap, and the game keeps finding new ones rather than repeating the same blade for a hundred rooms.
Nothing in the game touches other players. There is no way to push somebody, and the one item that ever did anything to another player was taken off sale in the game’s first winter.
That makes this a race against yourself in a room full of people, which is why the badges matter. They are the only score there is, and they are public, so anybody can check how far a run really got.

Nobody has it |
Three quarters of players clear the first ten rooms, and about a quarter reach room 50. From there it thins fast, and 514,295 people have the badge for a hundred.
The single hardest stretch is rooms 50 to 60. Every other ten room run keeps somewhere between 60 and 75 in every 100 people who reach it. That one keeps 53.
One fair caveat. The joining badge was added five days after the game opened, so a few early players are missing from the count, and every share above reads a little high.

The Badge Nobody Has
There is a twelfth badge. It is called You Escaped, its description reads Congrats, and it has been switched on since the day after the game opened.
It has been given to zero players. Not a handful, not a few hundred. Zero, out of more than 21 million people who have played and over half a million who have cleared a hundred rooms.
That means one of two things. Either the ending it belongs to is not reachable yet, or the badge is waiting on something no player has managed. Either way, treat the hundredth room as the finish line and anything past it as a bonus.
What You Can Buy
| Item |
Price |
What it does |
| Speed Coil |
29 Robux |
Move faster, which is the one that saves real time |
| Magic Carpet |
79 Robux |
A ride, and the pricier of the two |
| Slap |
Not for sale |
Made in the game’s first week and pulled about five weeks later |
Both items on sale come to 108 Robux together, which is tiny for a game this size, and both were made in the game’s first week. The speed coil is the one that saves time over a hundred rooms.
The third item is the interesting one. It was the only thing in the shop that did anything to another player, and it came off sale about five weeks in and never came back.
The Studio And Its Other Rooms
Waterdog Games is a verified group with about 597,000 members, and this is the biggest of its games by a wide way.
Five weeks after this one opened, the same studio put out a second escape game with 67 rooms in it. That one has passed 1.4 million visits and makes a shorter run if a hundred rooms feels like a lot.
There is a third game sitting unreleased, named after the backrooms. It was created in May 2026 and was touched again a couple of weeks before this page was written, so something is still being built there.
The room count is advertised the old fashioned way. When a batch of new rooms landed in December 2025, the number went into the game’s own title for a fortnight and then came back out.
Codes and Scripts
There are no codes and no code box. Our Scary Escape Rooms codes page covers the two item shop and the item that was pulled.
There are no working scripts either. Our Scary Escape Rooms script page explains the single line that circulates, what it does to the skip button, and why that kind of trick does not last.
Tips for New Scary Escape Rooms Players
- Count the trap before you cross it. Almost everything in here runs on a loop.
- Play in a busy server. Somebody a few rooms ahead is the best hint you will get.
- Get to room 50 before you spend anything. A quarter of players do, and it tells you whether the game is for you.
- Buy the speed coil rather than the carpet if you buy anything. Over a hundred rooms, speed is worth more than a ride.
- Do not panic at rooms 50 to 60. It is the hardest stretch in the game by the numbers.
- Try the studio’s 67 room game for a shorter version of the same thing.
- Ignore anything promising you codes. There is no code box in this game.
Scary Escape Rooms FAQ
How many rooms are in Scary Escape Rooms?
Badges run every ten rooms up to 100, and 514,295 players have the hundredth one. That is the last badge anybody has actually earned.
Has anyone escaped?
By the game’s own record, no. The You Escaped badge has been switched on since October 2025 and has been given to zero players.
Where do most people stop?
Rooms 50 to 60. That stretch keeps about 53 in every 100 players who reach it, while every other stretch keeps 60 to 75.
Does it have codes?
No. There is no code box and no currency in the game, so there is nothing a code could give you.
What is in the shop?

Are there other games like it from the same studio?
