Words of Power is a free Roblox game where the words you collect are the powers you fight with. You clear arenas full of enemies, and between fights you pick up cards. Each card is a real word, like SHOCK or STURDY. It shows the part of speech, a short definition, and an effect the word gives you in battle. It was built by Mrs Wordsmith, a company that makes vocabulary lessons for schools.

How the Word Cards Work

A Word of Power is a card built around one real word. The card shows the word, whether it is a verb, a noun or an adjective, and a short definition anyone can read.

Each word also does something in a fight. SHOCK hits more than one enemy at once. STURDY heals you a little every time you beat an enemy. The effect usually matches what the word means.

Cards have rarities, from Common up to Legendary. You slot a few words at a time and swap them between runs. The studio says there are more than a million ways to combine them.

You get better with a word by using it. Each card has a Mastery track that fills as you play, which is the game’s way of saying you have learned that word.

The Realms and How Far People Get

The game is split into realms, each a themed set of rogue-like fights. You start at Easy Breezy Beach and unlock the next realm by clearing the one before it.

Every realm has a badge for clearing it, so the badge counts show where people stop.

About 276,000 players have picked a Word of Power at all. Of those, 138,397 finished the first beach realm, so roughly half of the people who engage with the cards clear realm one.

After that it drops fast. Fungi Forest is at 80,117, and every realm past it sits between 15,000 and 22,000. The deep realms are a small club.

Wisdom Stones

Wisdom Stones are an upgrade item. You fuse one into a Word of Power card to make that word stronger.

The badges track this too. Around 45,000 players have fused one stone, and 15,596 have fused three into a single word. Stacking stones on one card is how you build a run around a favorite word.

How to Play Words of Power

Join and grab the free hat, then head into Easy Breezy Beach, the first realm.
Fight through the waves of enemies. Between rounds you get to pick a card.
Read each card. Take the word whose effect fits how you are playing, not just the rare one.
Clear the realm to earn its badge and open the next one.
Spend the gold you earn in the shop on cosmetics, and fuse Wisdom Stones into your best word.
Bring a friend. Parties of up to three players share the run.

Words of Power Gameplay

Each run is a series of arena fights. Enemies pour in, you dodge their attacks and hit back, and clearing a wave lets you draw another word card.

The runs are rogue-like, so a failed run sends you back to pick a fresh set of words. Your card collection and your realm progress carry over.

The word packs, called the Wondermind Pack and the Storyteller’s Pack, are themed sets of cards you can work toward. Each pack leans on a different group of words.

The arenas are set in a library, which fits the theme. Boss fights close out the harder realms.

The game is still on a beta version number and got its last update in late 2025. It plays as a finished game, but the player count is small now.

Tips for New Words of Power Players

Read the card effect before the rarity. A Common word that fits your run beats an Epic one that does not.
Learn to dodge first. The words help, but standing in an attack still ends the run.
Pick a main word early and stack Wisdom Stones on it rather than spreading them thin.
Do not rush past the beach. The early realm is where you learn how the cards feel.
Play in a party of three when you can. Shared runs make the deep realms far easier.
Spend gold on cosmetics only. Nothing in the shop makes you stronger, so there is no rush.

The whole game

Every realm, every card and every update is free. There is no paid version and nothing is locked behind Robux.

You earn cards by playing. The million-plus combinations are open to anyone who keeps collecting.

Co-op parties

Playing with up to two friends costs nothing. It is the easiest way through the harder realms.

The free hat and shop cosmetics

A hat is waiting for you at spawn, and the shop stock is bought with gold you earn, never Robux.

Is Words of Power free?

Yes, completely. It has no game passes and no purchases at all. The in-game shop is paid for with gold you earn by playing.

How many words are in the game?

The studio says there are over a million possible word combinations. New words come in the Wondermind and Storyteller’s card packs.

Does Words of Power have codes?

About Words of Power

Words of Power is a free Roblox action RPG by Mrs Wordsmith, a game-based learning company that makes vocabulary curriculum. You fight through rogue-like arenas and collect Word of Power cards, each a real word with a definition and a battle effect. It launched in October 2022 as an official Roblox partnership.

It has passed 1.4 million visits and holds about 17,000 favorites, with a 78 percent rating from around 3,500 votes. Roblox lists it under Learning and Explore. The Mrs Wordsmith Roblox group is not a Roblox-verified group.

The game has no game passes, no cosmetics for Robux and no currency you can buy. It has no working codes and no working scripts. Its last update was in late 2025.
