Last Updated: August 2026 | The average sitting here is 31 minutes, longer than any game we have measured.
Mini Cities 2 is a city builder. You start with an empty plot of land, lay roads, put up buildings, and keep your citizens happy by giving them what they ask for. Then you watch them drive around on the roads you designed, which is a good deal of the appeal.
It opened in December 2023 and has been visited 32 million times. This page has the shop, the two badges, and the thing most people miss about this game, which is that the first Mini Cities is still bigger than the sequel.

How to Play Mini Cities 2
This is a slow game on purpose. There is no timer and nobody to race, so the only thing deciding how fast you go is what you have unlocked.
- Redeem the codes first. Three of them pay development points, which is what unlocks new buildings.
- Lay your roads before anything else. Everything you build has to connect to them, and curved roads can go anywhere you like.
- Put up housing so people move in. No citizens means nothing to build the rest of the city around.
- Read what your citizens are asking for and build towards it. Keeping them happy is what lets the city grow.
- Watch your materials. You cannot put a building down without the resources it needs.
- Work through the development tree steadily. New buildings unlock from it rather than turning up on their own.
Six people share a server and each one builds their own city. Nothing is shared, so nobody can take anything of yours.
Mini Cities 2 Gameplay: The First Game Is Still Bigger
This studio has made exactly two games and both are city builders. Its own page says as much, and adds that a third might be coming.

The original has nine million more trips through it than the sequel, and it is rated a point higher. On lifetime numbers alone the first game is still the bigger of the two.
Look at the second row though. The sequel has almost three times as many people in it at this moment, and it was updated in August while the original was last touched in February.
So the lifetime totals show where players have been and the live counts show where they are. The audience has moved across, and the studio has moved with it.

Nearly a Third of Players Were Here for the Beta
There are only two badges in this game, and the second one is more interesting than a badge usually is.
One is handed out the first time you play, and 5,594,949 people have it. The other says you tested the game while it was in beta, and 1,777,932 people have that.
So roughly 32 in every 100 people who have ever opened this game were here during the beta. That is a large early crowd for a game with 32 million trips through it.
The beta ran into May 2024, about five months after the game opened. Both badges were made three weeks after launch, so between them they cover nearly the whole life of the game.
The Shop Sells Tools, Not Shortcuts
Three things are on sale here and the interesting part is what is missing from the list.
| What it is called |
What it costs |
What it does |
| Advanced Paint Pass |
349 Robux |
More options for coloring what you build. |
| Plot Expansion Pass |
449 Robux |
A bigger piece of land to build on. |
| Disable Collisions Pass |
749 Robux |
Lets pieces overlap that would normally block each other. |
There is no double money, no double speed, and nothing that builds anything for you. Games like this nearly always sell at least one of those.
All three are building tools instead. More colors, more land, and permission to overlap pieces that would normally refuse to sit together.
A studio that sells no shortcut is telling you it does not think its own game has a slow part worth paying to skip. Read any shop that way and it saves you money.
A Second Place Almost Nobody Has Seen
The game has one other room attached to it, and it is called The Mirror World.
It has been visited 502 times in total, and it was last touched about a year ago. Against 32 million trips through the main game, that is close to nobody.
Nothing on the game page mentions it and there is no door to it that we can point you at. It sits in the game’s own list of rooms and that is all anyone can say for certain.
The other thing the art shows that the page does not mention is trains. One of the working codes is named after one, so rail is clearly in here somewhere.
Tips for New Mini Cities 2 Players
- Redeem the codes before you start. Three pay development points, which is the currency that unlocks buildings.
- Plan your roads first. Everything connects to them, and curved roads can be placed freely in this game.
- Build what your citizens ask for. Happy citizens are what lets the city keep growing.
- Do not rush the tree. The average sitting here is half an hour, so this is a game to settle into.
- Skip the shop until you know what you want. Nothing in it speeds the game up, so none of it is urgent.
- Try the first game too. It is still bigger, still rated well, and it is free.

About Mini Cities 2
Mini Cities 2 comes from a verified studio whose group description says it has made two games so far, and hints that a third may be on the way.
The original was not renamed until December 2024, a full year after this sequel opened, so for twelve months two live games shared one name.
The game page promises curved roads, a terrain and block editor, and citizens who drive to where they are going. All three are in the pictures on its page.
About 87 in every 100 votes are likes, on 62,708 votes. For a game that asks you to sit and build for half an hour, that is a warm reception.
