Mini Empires

Last Updated: August 2026  |  All five modes, nine maps, every unit, and the tutorial that 2,800 people finished.

Mini Empires is a real-time strategy game where thirty players share one map made of hexagons. You start with a Core and a couple of builders, put up farms to make money, then spend that money on soldiers, tanks, boats and now helicopters. The way to win is simple to say and hard to do: smash the other team’s Core before they smash yours.

It is one of the very few proper strategy games on Roblox and it has been in early access since December 2022. This page has all five modes, all nine maps, every unit and building, the full version history from the studio’s own write-ups, and the oddest thing in the whole game. There is a tutorial, it is still sitting there, and only 2,800 people have ever finished it.

How to Play Mini Empires

  1. Get three or four builders out first. They are cheap, they are the only thing that can build, and everything else waits on them.
  2. Put up three farms straight away. Money before army, every single time. Most losses trace back to skipping this.
  3. Build houses next. Houses raise the number of units you are allowed, and you can go a long way on six of them.
  4. Push out for the gold mines. They sit in the middle where everyone can reach them, so getting there first matters.
  5. Now build somewhere to make an army. A training camp gives you soldiers, a vehicle factory gives you tanks, a harbor gives you boats.
  6. Wall your Core and put a gate in it. Your own units walk through the gate, the enemy has to break the wall.
  7. Send everything at one enemy Core at once. Fifteen humvees together will usually finish a base that ten spread out would not.

One thing to know before your first match. Every building in this game catches fire once it drops to half health, so a half dead wall is already gone.

Mini Empires Gameplay: The Five Modes

Mode Players What is different about it
Casual Up to 30 The plain version. Everybody can see the whole map from the start
Ambush Up to 30 Casual with fog over the map, so you only see where you have units
Blitz Up to 30 Casual at double speed. Everything builds and moves twice as fast
Duel 2 Ambush between two players. Taken out of matchmaking in the last update, so custom matches only now
Ranked 6 Ambush in two teams of three, with a proper ladder. You need ten wins first

Fog is the thing that changes everything. In Casual you can see the whole map, so a big attack coming at you is never a surprise.

In Ambush and in Ranked you only see what your own units and radar towers can see. That is why the radar tower is worth its price and why scouts matter.

Ranked is the serious one. Six players in two teams of three, everybody on a team shares one Core and one income but keeps their own cash, and the ladder sorts you by a hidden rating.

Be warned that ranked matches can take a long time to find. Players report waits of around twenty minutes, so Blitz or Casual are the ones to pick if you only have half an hour.

Every Unit in the Game

Where they fight How many Who they are
On foot 7 Builder, Scout, Medic, Gunner, Sniper, Rocketeer and Shotgunner
On land 4 Humvee, Light Tank, Missile Truck and Heavy Tank
At sea 6 Speedboat, Destroyer, Submarine, Barge, Builder Boat and Transport ship
In the air 1 The Light Helicopter, added in June 2026 and still the only one

Eighteen units in total and each one is made in a different building, so what you put up decides what you can field.

Helicopters are the newest thing and they broke the game wide open. They fly over their own layer above the map, so hills, water, walls and gates mean nothing to them.

Most things on the ground cannot shoot up at all. The rocketeer is the proper answer, and turrets, your Core and the roof gun on a humvee can all have a go. Out at sea, destroyers handle them.

Three things have been taken out over the years. The radar truck and the transporter are both gone, and so is the windmill, which used to be a way of making money.

Every Building and What It Does

What it is for Buildings Notes
Making money Farm, Oil Pump, Gold Mine, Oil Rig Farms go on grass, mines and rigs sit out on the map where you have to fight for them
Holding things up Core, House, Radar Tower The Core is your base and your last line. Houses raise how many units you can have
Making units Training Camp, Vehicle Factory, Harbor, Hospital, Helipad One building per kind of unit, so what you build decides what army you can field
Keeping people out Wall, Gate, Turret, Anti-Tank Mine, Missile Defense Gates let your own units through the wall. Mines are one use only

Your Core is the whole game in one object. It has 8,000 health, it pays you 500 gold a minute on its own, and it fires a beam that hits infantry 60 per cent harder than anything else.

It has not always been called that. Up until April 2024 it was the Headquarters, and it could not fight back at all until the update after that.

Since the last update you can swap one building for another without knocking it down first. A farm becomes an oil pump, a wall becomes a gate.

The Tutorial Almost Nobody Finished

This game has a tutorial and it lives in its own separate room, away from the lobby and the matches. It is still there today.

There is a marker for finishing it, and 2,800 players hold it. Set that against the 19,631,579 who hold the marker for simply joining and the gap speaks for itself.

The tutorial marker was switched off some time ago, so nobody new can earn it, and it does not show up in the game’s public list any more. We only found it by going through the markers one at a time.

Do handle the joining number with care. That marker was made in April 2023, four months after the game opened, so it counts arrivals since then rather than everybody ever.

The third marker is a different sort of thing. Called Supporter, 2,871 people have it, and it went to players who put money directly toward building the game. It comes with its own chat tag.

The Ranked Ladder

Rank What it means
Bronze 1 to 3 Where everybody starts after five placement matches
Silver 1 to 3 The middle of the ladder
Gold 1 to 3 Getting good. You can be matched two ranks either side of yourself
Master Added in the comeback update
Paragon The top 30 players in the world, and nobody else

You cannot walk straight into ranked. Ten wins in the normal modes first, then five placement matches before you are given a rank at all.

Look at the bottom row again. Paragon is not a skill level you reach, it is a seat, and there are exactly thirty of them in the world.

Beat somebody rated above you and you gain a lot. Lose to somebody rated below you and you lose a lot. That is the whole system in two sentences.

The Eleven Months of Silence

Version When it landed
0.8.3 10 November 2024, then nothing for eight months
0.9.0 4 July 2025, called the comeback update
0.9.1 12 July 2025
0.9.2 19 July 2025, missions added
0.9.3 26 July 2025, season pass added, then nothing for eleven months
0.10.0 29 June 2026, helicopters and a new soundtrack

The studio writes up every version in public, which is unusual and makes the shape of this game’s life easy to see.

July 2025 was a burst. Four updates in twenty two days, each one bringing something new, and each one bringing a code with it.

Then nothing at all for eleven months. The write-up for the update that ended it opens by saying it has been a while and thanking players for their patience.

Here is the odd part. The most players this game has ever had at once, 9,310 of them, happened on 2 April 2026, right in the middle of that quiet stretch and months before the update landed.

The Second Game Nobody Has Announced

Studios leave their unfinished work sitting in public, and this one has left a lot. Alongside Mini Empires there are seventeen other rooms on the studio’s list.

Five of them are named K colon A. There is a prototype, a dev build, and separate rooms for animations, effects and maps, all worked on between August 2025 and May 2026.

That is a whole second game being built quietly, and nothing about it has been said anywhere. The prototype has been visited 276 times.

Two more rooms are new maps for this game, and one is a builder’s own workspace. That last one is where an old code got its name, because one of the expired codes asked players to follow the developer.

Tips for New Mini Empires Players

  • Three farms before anything else. It is boring advice and it is the difference between winning and losing most matches.
  • Keep your units in one bundle. Ten together beat ten spread out, because the ones at the front die before the ones at the back have fired.
  • Ally with the best player in the room, not the closest one. Turning five against one into four against two is the biggest swing you can make.
  • Build a radar tower on the bigger maps. On the foggy modes it is the only way to see an attack coming.
  • If your ally leaves, do not go after their base. Take the empty farm spots instead and deal with the strongest pair still standing.
  • Watch what is under a bridge. Buildings tucked under one used to be impossible to hit, and it needed a fix.
  • Hold the production button down to queue up as many of a unit as you can afford in one go.

Mini Empires FAQ

Are there any codes for Mini Empires?

One that works, and it hands you 100 gems. Our Mini Empires codes page has it, plus the five that have stopped and the exact days each of them ran.

Is there a Mini Empires script?

Nothing worth pasting. Our Mini Empires script page opens every menu that claims this game and shows what is inside each one.

How do I unlock ranked?

Ten wins in the normal modes. After that you play five placement matches and the game gives you a rank based on how they go.

What do gems actually do?

They buy looks and nothing else. Skins for your units and buildings, chests holding skin parts, and the season pass. None of it makes your army any stronger.

Can I play Mini Empires on my own?

Not really. Every mode puts you against other players, and even the smallest one is you against one other person. There is a tutorial room if you want to learn the buttons in peace.

Does it have private servers?

No. They are switched off for this game. The nearest thing is a custom match, which is also the only place Duel still lives.

How many people play it?

Usually a couple of hundred at a time. The busiest it has ever been was 9,310 players at once, back on 2 April 2026.

About The Shop

There is nothing at all for sale on the game page. For a game with 87 million visits behind it, that is close to unheard of. No passes, not one.

Everything you can spend on lives inside the game and it is all gems. A chest to open costs 300, a standard skin 790, a legendary one 1,490 and the season pass 4,000.

You do not have to pay for any of it. Logging in seven days running pays 20 gems on day one and 40 by day seven, which comes to 215 for the week.

Missions pay gems too and you can do ten a day. Between the two, a skin is a fortnight of showing up rather than a purchase.
