Grow a Garden 2: How to Make Money
“Which crops make the most money, and how do I get rich fast?”
In Grow a Garden 2, money is called Sheckles, and almost everything costs them. You earn Sheckles by growing crops and selling them at the Sell Stand. The better your crops, the more money you make, and the faster you can buy rare seeds.
This guide shows the best crops for money, the cheap seeds to start with, and the fast tricks to get rich. All the sell prices and seed costs come straight from the game, so you can plan what to plant next.
Note: Grow a Garden 2 is a different game from the first Grow a Garden, so its crops and prices are its own.

The Quick Answer
Here is the short version of how to make money fast:
- Best early flip: Tulip. It costs 40 Sheckles, sells for 60, grows in 60 seconds, and is always in the shop.
- Best burst crop: Rocket Pop. It sells for 22,500 and also grows in just 60 seconds.
- Best steady money: multi-harvest crops that keep making fruit from one seed, so you sell over and over.
- The hidden boost: the Sell Stand pays 2 to 4 times the base price, so every number below is really worth more.
How You Make Money
Money in this game is simple once you know the loop. You buy seeds, plant them, wait for them to grow, then harvest the crop and sell it. Here is what matters most.
- Sell at the Sell Stand. Take your harvested crops to Steven at the Sell Stand to turn them into Sheckles. You can sell one at a time or cash out everything at once.
- Single vs multi-harvest. A single-harvest crop is picked once for its full price. A multi-harvest crop keeps making fruit, so you get many smaller sells from one seed.
- Water your crops. Crops slowly lose color and value if you leave them. Water them with a watering can, or let the rain do it, to keep them fresh.
- Bigger is better. Heavier crops sell for more, so let them grow to full size before you pick them.
Best Crops for Money
Here are the top money crops you can buy from the Seed Shop, sorted from cheapest seed to most costly. The sell price is the base price for one crop, before the Sell Stand adds its bonus. These numbers can change when the game updates.

Reading the table: single-harvest crops give their full price one time. Multi-harvest crops show a smaller price, but one seed makes lots of fruit, so the total adds up to much more over time.
The standout is Rocket Pop. It grows in only 60 seconds and sells for 22,500 before the Sell Stand bonus. With that 2x to 4x bonus, one crop easily pays back its seed and makes a big profit. Mushroom is a strong step before it.
Best Cheap Crops to Start With
When you are new, you do not have many Sheckles, so start with the seeds that are always in the shop. These four never sell out, so you can buy them in bulk and grow a big garden fast.

Carrot is the cheapest and grows fast, so it is great for your very first coins. Once you have about 40 Sheckles, switch to Tulip. It sells for more than it costs and grows in 60 seconds, which makes it the best early money crop.
Your base sell price stacks up with each of these boosts.
The Money Boosts Most Players Miss
The base sell price is only the start. A few boosts stack on top to give you way more money for the same crops. Use these and your Sheckles climb much faster.
- The Sell Stand bonus. Every crop you sell gets a random 2x to 4x on its base price. Hover over a crop to see its bonus before you sell.
- Daily Deals. Once every 12 hours you can sell for about 2.2 times the price. Save your biggest crops for this deal.
- Play with friends. Each friend in your server gives you 10% more Sheckles, up to 70% more with a full group.
- Double or Nothing. A fun gamble at the Sell Stand that can double your payout, but you can also lose it all, so only risk crops you are okay to lose.
Even bigger money: mutations multiply your sell price on top of all this, from 10x for Gold up to 80x for Eclipsed. See our Grow a Garden 2 mutations guide to learn how to get them.
How to Get Rich Fast
Put it all together and you can build up Sheckles quickly. Here is a simple plan to follow from your first day.
- Plant lots of cheap crops like Carrot and Tulip at the start, since they are always in stock and grow fast.
- Water your garden so nothing loses value, and let crops reach full size before you pick them.
- Sell during Daily Deals and play with friends so every crop is worth more.
- Save up for Mushroom, then Rocket Pop, then start buying the multi-harvest crops that pay over and over.
- Chase mutations on your best crops for the biggest sells.
Free head start: you can grab free seeds and watering cans from our Grow a Garden 2 codes page, which helps you grow more crops without spending Sheckles.
Grow a Garden 2 Money FAQ
What is the best crop for money in Grow a Garden 2?
Rocket Pop is the best money crop you can buy. It sells for 22,500 and grows in just 60 seconds. Mushroom, which sells for 13,000, is a great pick before you can afford it.
What is the fastest way to make money early?
Plant Tulip. It costs 40 Sheckles, sells for 60, grows in 60 seconds, and is always in the shop. Carrot is good for your very first coins since it only costs 1.
Why does my crop sell for more than its listed price?
The Sell Stand adds a random 2x to 4x bonus to every crop. Daily Deals, playing with friends, and mutations can push the price even higher.
Are multi-harvest crops or single-harvest crops better for money?
Both are useful. Single-harvest crops give a big price once. Multi-harvest crops make lots of fruit from one seed, so they earn more over time if you keep picking them.
How do I get rich fast in Grow a Garden 2?
Grow lots of cheap crops early, water them, and sell during Daily Deals with friends. Then save up for Rocket Pop and multi-harvest crops, and add mutations for the biggest sells.
What does watering do?
Crops slowly lose color and value when you leave them alone. Watering them, or a rain weather event, keeps them fresh so they sell for full price.
