Fisch Fish and Rods
“Which fish are the rarest, and which rods should you actually use?”
Last Updated: June 2026
Fisch is one of the biggest fishing games on Roblox, where you cast a line, reel in fish, and sell them for coins to buy better gear.
Every fish has a rarity, and the rarer it is, the more coins it sells for. With hundreds of fish spread across many biomes, it really helps to know what each rarity means before you go chasing one.
Your rod matters just as much as the fish. The right rod hooks heavier catches, lands rare fish more often, and can even boost how much your fish are worth.
New to the game? Our Fisch wiki explains how to play, and the Fisch codes page lists free coins and rewards to get you going.
Below is a clear fish list by rarity, plus the best rods to start with and the ones worth chasing later on.
The Quick Answer
Fisch sorts fish into rarities, from lowest to highest: Trash, Common, Uncommon, Unusual, Rare, Legendary, Mythical, Exotic, and Secret. The rarer the fish, the more coins it sells for. There are also special groups like Limited and Gemstone that hold some of the most prized catches. For gear, you start with the free Flimsy Rod and work your way up to powerful rods like the Kraken Rod, Heaven’s Rod, and Rod of the Eternal King.
How Fishing Works in Fisch
Before the lists, here is the simple loop the whole game runs on. Once this clicks, the rarities and rods make a lot more sense.
1
Cast and reel. Cast your line, wait for a bite, then play the little reeling minigame to land the fish. A better rod makes this easier and lets you hold heavier catches.
2
Sell your catches. Take your fish to a seller to turn them into coins. Rarer fish, bigger sizes, and rare colours all sell for a lot more.
3
Upgrade your rod and bait. Spend coins on a stronger rod and the right bait so you can hook the heavier, rarer fish that earn the big money.
4
Explore new areas. Travel to new biomes and islands. Each one has its own fish list, so reaching new spots unlocks rarer, pricier catches. Our wiki covers the best places to fish.
Fisch Fish List by Rarity
Here is every main rarity in order, what it means, and a few example fish you might find in that group. The exact fish in each rarity can change as the game adds new biomes and updates, so treat this as a guide rather than a fixed list.
| Rarity |
What it means |
Example fish |
| Trash |
Junk like old boots and tin cans. Sells for almost nothing, but it still fills out your catch log. |
Old Boot, Tin Can |
| Common |
The everyday fish you catch most, especially around the starting town. Each one sells for a little. |
Carp, Bluegill |
| Uncommon |
Shows up a bit less often and sells for a touch more than a Common fish. |
Bass, Bream |
| Unusual |
Trickier to hook and worth a decent pile of coins when you land one. |
Snook, Treble Bass |
| Rare |
Harder catches that often need the right bait, weather, or time of day. |
Region-specific rare fish |
| Legendary |
Big, valuable fish that sell for a lot and look great in your catch log. |
Top fish in many regions |
| Mythical |
Some of the rarest catches in the game, usually tied to special weather or night time. |
Colossal Squid, Great Hammerhead |
| Exotic |
Extremely rare. Only a small handful of Exotic fish exist in the whole game. |
A few hidden fish |
| Secret |
Hidden, super-rare catches that you do not even need to finish a region’s catch log. |
Secret-only fish |
The rarest fish to chase
The catch most players call the rarest is the Phantom Megalodon, which only shows up during a special weekend eclipse event and has a short window to hook. Other famous rare fish include the Colossal Squid, a Mythical that appears in foggy weather at night in the Deep Ocean, and the Great Hammerhead Shark, which likes windy weather. The rarest list shifts as new fish are added, so keep an eye out after each update.
What about Limited, Gemstone, and Relic fish? On top of the main ladder, Fisch has special groups that do not sit neatly in order. Limited fish come from time-limited events, while Gemstone and Relic fish are rare collectibles. They are some of the proudest catches in the game, so grab them whenever an event is running.
Cheap rods (in green) are great to start with. The chase rods (in gold) are powerful late-game gear worth grinding toward.
Good Rods to Start With
You do not need an expensive rod to make progress. These cheap rods carry you through the early game and help you afford the better ones. Prices are rough and can change with updates, so check the in-game shop for the current cost.
| Rod |
Where to get it |
Why it helps |
| Flimsy Rod |
Free when you join |
Your default starter rod. It works fine for the first Common fish around the starting town. |
| Training Rod |
Around 300 coins at Moosewood |
A cheap first upgrade with better control than the Flimsy Rod. |
| Plastic Rod |
Around 750 coins at Moosewood |
Holds heavier fish and reels in a little faster, good for your early catches. |
| Lucky Rod |
Around 4,500 coins |
A big luck boost for the price, which means more rare fish for fewer casts. |
| Fortune Rod |
Around 11,000 coins |
Even more luck, a great pick to grind on before you can afford the top rods. |
Powerful Rods to Chase
Once you have a steady coin income, these are the rods worth working toward. They land rare fish more often and can boost how much your catches sell for. Fisch adds new rods often and rebalances stats, so the very best rod changes over time.
| Rod |
How to get it |
Why players want it |
| Kraken Rod |
Bought once you have plenty of coins |
Reels in rare fish reliably and has a chance to boost a catch’s value. |
| Heaven’s Rod |
Late-game purchase |
Very high luck, and it can hold any fish no matter how heavy it is. |
| Auric Rod |
Found free in Sunken Chests |
Makes every catch worth more than normal, so it pays for itself fast. |
| Rod of the Eternal King |
Crafted from special materials |
A passive that can raise the value of your catches, so it is great for earning coins. |
| Ethereal Prism Rod |
End-game reward |
One of the strongest rods, with a chance to multiply a catch’s value several times over. |
A quick note on the best rod. There is no single rod that is best forever. End-game rods like the Ethereal Prism Rod and Rod of the Eternal King are top picks right now, but the team tweaks rods and adds new ones in almost every update. Aim for high luck and a value boost, and check back after a big update.
Tips for Catching Rarer Fish
- Match your bait to the area you are fishing in. The right bait gives you a much better shot at the rare fish that live there.
- Chase bigger sizes and rare colours. The same fish can sell for several times more when it is large or has a rare look.
- Upgrade your rod before moving on. A stronger rod lets you reach and hold the valuable fish in a new biome.
- Grab free coins from our Fisch codes page to buy a better rod sooner.
- Keep casting. Many of the rarest fish only appear in certain weather or at certain times, so the more you fish, the better your luck.
