How to Get Rods in Fisch (Best Rods and Progression)

Roblox Game Guide

How to Get Rods in Fisch

“Which rod should I buy next, and how do I get the big ones like the Trident Rod?”

Fisch is a fishing game where your rod is the most important thing you own. A better rod catches fish faster, hooks rarer fish, and can pull in much bigger catches. When you join, you get the free Flimsy Rod, and everything after that is up to you.

The tricky part is knowing which rod to save up for. There are over 200 rods in the game, and a pricey one is not always better than a cheap one. This guide gives you a clear path from your starter rod all the way to the endgame.

You will learn what every rod stat means, the best rod to buy at each stage, where to find it, and how much it costs. Want the full list of fish to chase with these rods? See our Fisch fish list. You can also grab free rewards on the codes page.

Fisch rod progression: Carbon Rod for 2,000 C$ early, Wildflower Rod for 40,000 C$ mid, Kings Rod for 100,000 C$ late, then the Trident Rod
Your rod path in Fisch, from a cheap early rod to a big-money chase rod.

The Quick Answer

You buy most rods with C$, the cash you earn from selling fish. Here is the short path most players take:

  • Early: grab the Carbon Rod at Moosewood for 2,000 C$.
  • Mid: save up for the Wildflower Rod (40,000 C$).
  • Late: buy the Kings Rod (100,000 C$) for big fish.
  • Chase: work toward the Trident Rod and beyond.

The one rule to remember is that a higher price or stage number does not always mean a better rod. Match the rod to what you are doing, like catching big fish or hunting rare ones.

What the 5 Rod Stats Mean

Every rod in Fisch has five stats. Once you know what each one does, you can look at any rod and tell right away if it fits your plan. Here is the full list.

Stat What it does
Lure Speed How fast fish bite your line. Over 99% means you do not have to shake the rod at all.
Luck Raises your chance of hooking rarer, more valuable fish.
Control Makes the control bar bigger when you reel, so catches are easier to land.
Resilience Steadies the fish so its icon moves around less while you reel it in.
Max Weight The heaviest fish the rod can pull in. If a fish weighs more than this, you cannot catch it.

Max Weight is the sneaky one. If your rod tops out at 600 kg and a fish weighs 700 kg, the rod simply cannot land it. That is why big-fish hunters chase rods with a huge or even infinite Max Weight.

Fisch rod stats explained: Lure Speed is how fast fish bite, Luck raises rare odds, Control grows the reel bar, Resilience steadies the fish, Max Weight is the heaviest catch
The five rod stats, in plain words.

Best Early Game Rods

You start with the Flimsy Rod for free. It has no stats at all, so your first goal is any upgrade. Every rod below is sold in Moosewood, the starting town, so you can grab one within your first few minutes.

Rod Lure Speed Luck Max Weight Cost Where
Flimsy Rod 0% 0% 10.4 kg Free You start with it
Carbon Rod -10% 25% 600 kg 2,000 C$ Moosewood
Long Rod 20% 80% 250 kg 3,000 C$ Moosewood
Fast Rod 70% 10% 175 kg 4,000 C$ Moosewood

The Carbon Rod is the best pick to start with, and it is also the cheapest. It gives you 25% Luck and a big jump in Max Weight for only 2,000 C$. The tiny drop in Lure Speed barely matters.

If you would rather have faster bites, the Fast Rod is nice, and the Long Rod casts far and has high Luck. But the Carbon Rod is the smart first buy for almost everyone.

Best Mid Game Rod

Once you have some cash saved up, the Wildflower Rod is the big mid-game jump. You buy it at Terrapin Island, the next area past Moosewood, for 40,000 C$.

Stat Wildflower Rod
Lure Speed 70%
Luck 75%
Control 0.17
Resilience 17%
Max Weight 700 kg
Cost 40,000 C$ at Terrapin Island

What makes it special is the passive. Every fish you catch has a 30% chance to come out with the Mother Nature mutation, which makes it worth more. That means the Wildflower Rod helps you earn cash faster while you use it, so it pays for itself.

Best Late Game Rods

Late-game rods cost a lot more, but they open up big fish and rare catches. Here are the four most popular ones and where to buy each. Prices can change when the game updates.

Rod Luck Max Weight Cost Where
Kings Rod 85% Infinite 100,000 C$ Keepers Altar
Trident Rod 150% 6,000 kg 150,000 C$ Desolate Deep
Great Dreamer Rod 147% 15,000 kg 700,000 C$ Cursed Isle
Rod Of The Depths 130% 30,000 kg 750,000 C$ The Depths

The Kings Rod is the best value on this list. For 100,000 C$ it has high Resilience, an infinite Max Weight, and a +30% fish size boost. That makes it the go-to rod for catching huge fish and doing Shark Hunts.

The Great Dreamer Rod and Rod Of The Depths both have a passive that catches an extra fish for you about every third reel. They are top choices for farming cash and XP once you can afford them.

How to Get the Trident Rod

The Trident Rod is one of the most searched rods in the game, and getting it is a real quest. It has a huge 150% Luck, so it is great for hunting rare fish. You find it at a hidden temple in the Desolate Deep.

Here is what you need before you can buy it:

  1. Finish the Desolate Deep Bestiary at 100%. You have to have caught every fish in that area first.
  2. Get 5 Enchant Relics. You can fish them up, or buy them from Merlin for about 11,000 C$ each.
  3. Find the hidden temple. Swim into a coral in the Desolate Deep and follow the path inside.
  4. Place all 5 relics on the 5 pedestals to open the door.
  5. Pay 150,000 C$ to buy the rod.

Good to know: the door is server-wide. If one player in the server has done the steps and opens it, everyone in that server can walk in. With the relics counted, the full cost comes to about 205,000 C$.

Best End Game Rods

The strongest rods in Fisch are not bought with cash at all. You unlock them by fully finishing the Bestiary in a certain area, which means catching every single fish there. Two stand out.

  • Ruinous Oath: many players call this the best rod in the game. It has high Luck and Lure Speed and a strong passive. You unlock it by getting 100% of the Shiny Sparkling Crimson Cavern Bestiary.
  • Luminescent Oath: a great all-round rod that gives perfect catches a Mastered mutation. You unlock it with 100% of the Luminescent Cavern Bestiary.

These take a long time, so treat them as a goal, not a quick buy. Until then, the Kings Rod and Great Dreamer Rod are more than strong enough.

Pair your rod with the right fish: once you have a strong rod, our Fisch fish list shows every fish by rarity and how much each one is worth, so you know what to chase.

Rod Stages Explained

In Fisch, every rod has a Stage number from 1 to 13. The stage shows how hard the rod is to get, not always how strong it is. The Flimsy Rod is Stage 1 because it is free, and the Masterline Rod is Stage 13 because it is the hardest to get.

Stage Example rods What it means
Stage 1 Flimsy Rod Your free starter rod
Stage 3 to 4 Depthseeker Rod, Kings Rod Cheap, easy upgrades
Stage 5 to 6 Trident Rod, Rod Of The Depths Mid and late-game chases
Stage 11 Dreambreaker Very hard to get
Stage 13 Masterline Rod The hardest rod in the game

Here is the important part. A higher stage does not always mean a better rod. Some easier endgame rods, like the Ruinous Oath, are seen by many players as better than harder rods with a bigger stage number. Always check the stats, not just the stage.

How to Get Rods Faster

Almost every rod costs C$, so the fastest way to get new rods is to earn cash more quickly. Here are the best ways to do that.

  • Aim for perfect catches. A perfect catch gives you 10 extra C$ and 1.5 times the normal XP, so it adds up fast.
  • Fish in better spots. Rarer fish sell for much more, so a good Luck rod in a good area earns cash quickly.
  • Enchant your rod. Take an Enchant Relic to the Keepers Altar and pay Cole 400 C$ to reach it. Enchants boost your stats without a whole new rod.
  • Use free rewards. Check the Fisch codes page for boosts and cash that help you save up faster.

You do not need to rush the expensive rods. A cheap Carbon Rod, then a Wildflower Rod, will carry you a long way while you build up your cash.
