In Survive a Million Monkeys, your class gives you two special moves and one big ultimate. Everyone starts as a Survivor. Better classes cost Gems, and you keep them for every run after that.

Quick answer. Medic is the cheapest class at 15,000 Gems. Bomber is the most expensive Gem class at 120,000, and it costs as much as Medic, Engineer and Juggernaut together. Outlaw and Pyromaniac only come in Robux bundles.

Buying all four Gem classes costs 240,000 Gems in total. Pyromaniac is the newest class, and it comes with the Phoenix Pistol and a Flamethrower.
What each class can do
Every class has a G move, an X move and an ultimate on Q. The G and X moves cost Cash during a run. The ultimate is free. It charges up each time you defeat 100 monkeys.

A fast burst of shots |
- Survivor throws grenades, builds barricades and calls in an airstrike.
- Medic drops medkits and a healing pod. Code Blue heals the whole team at once.
- Engineer builds turrets that shoot by themselves and fixes them with a hammer. Overclock makes every turret fire faster for a short time.
- Juggernaut slams the ground to knock monkeys back and braces to take less damage. Warpath pulls monkeys toward you and gives you extra health.
- Bomber uses a satchel bomb you set off when you want. Blast Dash shoots you forward and leaves a trail of blasts.
- Outlaw fires fast, strong shots. Ricochet bounces one shot between monkeys.
You can also spend Gems to make class moves stronger. Each upgrade costs more than the last one.
Bomber costs as much as three classes
Bomber costs 120,000 Gems. That is the same as Medic, Engineer and Juggernaut added together. Each class costs a lot more than the one before it. Engineer costs twice as much as Medic, and Juggernaut costs 2.5 times as much as Engineer.
So think about it before you save up. The same 120,000 Gems could buy the Scar, one of the strongest guns, for 90,000 and still leave 30,000 for Engineer.
Should you buy a class or a gun first?
Gems buy guns too, so every class competes with a gun. Here is how the cheap options line up.
- 15,000 Gems buys Medic, or the El Scorpio gun. The El Scorpio deals 160 damage a second, up from 100 with the free Shotgun.
- 90,000 Gems buys the Scar. It deals 525 damage a second, more than twice the free Burst Rifle.
- Playing with a team? A Medic or Engineer helps everyone, not just you.
- Playing alone? A stronger gun helps you right away.

The two starter packs are the best deals. Buying Medic’s 15,000 Gems in a Gem pack costs 149 Robux. The Starter Pack costs 49 and gives you Medic plus 10,000 Gems. That is about 3 times cheaper.
It is the same for Engineer. Its 30,000 Gems cost 298 Robux in Gem packs, but the Super Starter Pack gives you Engineer plus 25,000 Gems for 99. Both packs together cost 148 Robux and give you two classes and 35,000 Gems.
The Gunslinger Bundle gives you Outlaw and 50,000 Gems. Those Gems alone can buy Medic and Engineer, with 5,000 left over. The 2X Gems pass costs 359 Robux and doubles every Gem you earn for good.
Which class should you buy first?
- First class: Medic, for 15,000 Gems. It is the cheapest, and healing helps the whole team.
- Like to hold one spot: Engineer, for 30,000 Gems. Its turrets shoot monkeys by themselves.
- Like to be up front: Juggernaut, for 75,000 Gems.
- Big crowds of monkeys: Bomber, for 120,000 Gems. Its blasts hit lots of monkeys at once.
