Crystals in Muscle Legends do not tell you your odds. You pay your gems, the crystal opens, and you find out what you got. So a pet with a 1 percent chance looks the same as one with a 25 percent chance until your gems are gone.
This page lists all 43 pets with the exact chance of getting each one, which crystal drops it, and how many gems it really takes on average. It also covers the 10 crystals, when each one opens, and the boost that matters more than the pet you pick.
The quick answer. The cheapest pet to chase is the Orange Hedgehog, at about 5,000 gems. The dearest is the Apex Overlord: a 1 percent chance from a 7,500,000 gem crystal, so about 750,000,000 gems on average. Every rebirth reward up to 150 rebirths adds up to 57,375,000 gems, which is under a tenth of that.

Watch out for the Galaxy Oracle Crystal. It opens at just 5 rebirths, earlier than three crystals that cost far fewer gems. But it costs 1,500,000 gems a go, and five rebirths only pay you about 100,000 gems in total. Its best pet needs 30 rebirths anyway, so you can reach this crystal long before you can use it.
What each pet really costs
A chance is not a price. If a pet drops 1 time in 100, you should expect to open about 100 crystals to see it. Multiply that by what the crystal costs and you get the real number.
These are the 12 pets that cost the most gems to chase. The figures are averages, so you might get lucky early or spend far more.

The Apex Overlord is the extreme case. At 1 percent from a 7,500,000 gem crystal, the average player needs about 100 openings. That is a pet you get by playing for a very long time, not one you can plan to buy.
The cheapest pets worth getting

A free saving for new players. The Blue Bunny and the Silver Dog both give +1 Agility. The Blue Bunny takes about 6,667 gems on average and the Silver Dog about 15,000, so the cheaper one is the better buy for the same result.
Two things the crystal list quietly tells you
The same pet sits in two crystals. The Golden Pheonix drops from the Inferno Crystal at 20 percent and from the Mythical Crystal at 10 percent. The Inferno Crystal costs more per go, at 15,000 gems against 8,000, but its better chance makes it the cheaper route on average: about 75,000 gems against 80,000. The dearer crystal is the better deal here.
Two pets are listed with the same stats. The wiki gives the Plasma Ravager and the Titan Reactor exactly the same line, +850 Strength, +700 Durability, +800 Agility, from the same crystal. The Titan Reactor is the rarer of the two at 6 percent against 10, so it costs about 125,000,000 gems against 75,000,000 for the same result.
Check that pair in game before you chase either. Two pets written with the very same stats can also mean the list has a mistake in it, and neither of these two has its own page to check against. If they really are the same, there is no reason to go for the rarer one.
Pet Momentum matters more than which pet you pick
Your pet gets stronger the longer you stay in one session. The game calls this Pet Momentum, and at the top it gives 150x your pet stats. It does not touch damage.

Because the boost multiplies what your pet already gives, a better pet gains more from it than a weak one. That is the whole reason it was added.
Two numbers to be careful with. The game’s own notes say the top boost comes after 9 hours of training, while the list above puts 150x at three hours. We have shown both rather than pick one. Either way your momentum resets if you leave and do not come back within about ten minutes, so a long session beats several short ones.
The old pet glitch does not work any more
If you have seen a video or a list about glitching pets for huge stats, that is out of date. Pet glitching was removed in the Industrial Gym update and Pet Momentum was put in to replace it. The game’s own notes say so in three separate places.
Some pages still tell you it works. It does not, and there is nothing to type in or copy. Train a long session for the momentum boost instead, which is the thing that was built to take its place.
A note on trading. All pets can be traded, so a friend can pass you a spare. Swapping pets inside the game is fine. Never trade your account details away, and skip anyone offering to sell pets for real money, because that can get your account banned.
Pets you can buy with Robux
Three pets and one pack are sold for Robux, so they skip the crystals entirely. We checked these prices against the game itself rather than taking them from a list.

Auras drop from the same crystals
Crystals do not only give pets. 17 of the 60 possible drops are auras, which boost your stats too and can also be traded. They come in two shapes, and the difference matters.
Most crystals roll you a random aura out of a band, so you know how good it will be but not which one you get.

What is the best pet in Muscle Legends? The Apex Overlord gives the most, at +1,120 Strength, +1,000 Durability, +1,000 Agility. It is also the hardest to get, at 1 percent from the 7,500,000 gem Industrial Crystal.
