Out of all the Roblox errors, Error Code 529 is one of the few where the problem is almost never on your end.

It appears with the caption “An error was encountered during HTTP requests. (Error Code: 529)” and usually means the Roblox servers failed to answer a request your game made behind the scenes.

HTTP requests are the little background messages a game sends to load data, save your progress, or update the leaderboard. When the server hosting that data hiccups, the whole session drops with 529.

Because this is a server side error, it often shows up for thousands of players at once, especially during a big game launch or a Roblox outage. There is usually nothing wrong with your device at all.

Well, that does not mean you are completely helpless. Check the causes below, then try the fixes to rule out the small chance that something local is making Error Code 529 worse.

What Causes Error Code 529?

Common Causes:

Roblox server outage – The most common cause by far. When Roblox services go down, HTTP requests fail and 529 spreads across the whole platform.
Overloaded game server – A brand new or viral game can get hammered with more traffic than its data services can handle.
Failed data request inside the game – If the game cannot reach its own data store to save or load progress, it throws 529 and drops you.
Your connection dropping the request – A weak connection can cut off the HTTP request before it completes, which looks the same as a server error.
VPN or DNS interference – A VPN or a custom DNS can reroute requests in a way that the Roblox servers reject.

How to Fix This Error

Check the Roblox server status first

Since Error Code 529 is almost always a server problem, this is the one fix you should always try first before wasting time on your own setup.

– Visit status.roblox.com and look for any active incidents

– Check whether the specific game is mentioned in the Roblox community or its own social pages

– If there is an outage, the only fix is to wait for Roblox to bring the service back up

Wait and rejoin a different server

If a single game server got overloaded, hopping to a fresh one often clears the error instantly.

– Close the error and go back to the game’s page

– Wait a couple of minutes, then press Play to land on a new server

– For very popular games, trying again during off-peak hours makes a big difference

Restart your connection

On the small chance the dropped request is on your side, a quick network reset removes any doubt.

– Restart your router and wait for it to fully reconnect

– Switch to a wired connection or move closer to the router

– Close background downloads and streams that compete for bandwidth

Turn off your VPN and reset DNS

A VPN or a custom DNS can reroute the background requests Roblox makes, and the servers sometimes reject the rerouted traffic.

– Disconnect any VPN or proxy completely, then relaunch Roblox

– If you set a custom DNS, switch back to your provider’s default temporarily to test

– Reconnect once the error is gone if you still want your VPN for other apps

Update the Roblox app

An outdated Roblox app can mishandle HTTP requests and trigger Error Code 529 more often than a current version would. Install any pending updates so your client is speaking the same version as the servers.

Re-install the Roblox app

If none of the five troubleshooting methods work and the server status is green, you may consider re-installing the Roblox app to replace any damaged files with a clean copy.

– Uninstall your current Roblox app then restart your PC

– Open your browser and download Roblox

– Once the game is already installed, log in to your account and see if it works

The hard truth with 529 is that patience is often the real fix, because the problem usually lives on Roblox’s servers, not your device. Ruling out your own setup just means you can relax and wait instead of worrying.
