In Heavyweight Fishing, your rod has two stats. Power helps you pull in heavy fish. Luck helps you catch better ones. You buy most rods from the Rod Seller on each island.
This page lists 27 rods with their Luck, Power, price and island. It also shows which rods are worth it and which to skip. Checked on October 30, 2026.
Quick answer. The top rods on this list are the Heavenpiercer and Pure Diamond, both at 100 Power, and you craft them. The best Luck you can buy is the Cryo Gravity Rod, with 36 Luck for 8,000,000 cash plus a quest. On a budget, the Grandmaster Golden Rod gives 30 Luck for 1,000,000.
Every rod by island
Power never drops from one shop rod to the next. Luck jumps up and down, so check both numbers before you buy.

Luck peaks early
The Grandmaster Golden Rod has 30 Luck for 1,000,000. Twelve shop rods cost more than it. Ten of them have less Luck, one ties it, and only the Cryo Gravity Rod beats it.
So if you want Luck, hold on to the Grandmaster Golden. Only buy the next rods when you need more Power.
Where all the cash goes

Buying every shop rod costs 130,148,600 cash. The Starlight Rod alone is 60,000,000, which is 46% of that.
The Starlight Rod costs 3 times as much as the Soul Thorn Rod. For that, you get 8 more Power and 4 less Luck.
Rods to skip
- Inferno Rod. The Steel Spine Rod costs the same and has the same Power, with more Luck.
- Alloy Rod, if Luck matters to you. It has 5 Luck, less than half of the cheaper Enchanted Steel.
- Auric Gravity Rod, if Luck matters. It has 10 Luck, the lowest of any rod above 1 million.
Tips for picking a rod
- Each new island sells new rods, so check the Rod Seller every time you arrive.
- Save up for a big jump instead of buying every single rod.
- Want the top rods? Start on the Cryo Gravity and Soul Thorn quests early.
- Grab free rewards from the Heavyweight Fishing codes page.
