Dead Rails Classes: All 35 and How to Get Each One

Dead Rails Classes: All 35 and How to Get Each One

Dead Rails has 35 classes right now. You can buy 29 of them with Bonds, one is free, and five you have to earn some other way. This page lists every one, with its price, what it starts with and what it does.

Some classes can’t be bought at all, like Alien, Krampus and the Horse. Each of those has its own section below, and we say which ones you can still get today.

Buying all 29 costs 1,705 Bonds. Further down you’ll see how many wins that takes, and what the same Bonds cost in Robux if you’d rather pay.

The short version

  • 35 classes: 29 you buy, 1 free, 5 you unlock.
  • Prices run from 15 to 100 Bonds. The most common price is 75, with 12 classes.
  • All 29 together cost 1,705 Bonds.
  • Alien can be unlocked any time, by beating the secret Alien Mode.
  • Horse, Eggslinger, Santa and Krampus came from events.
  • Four classes can now level up: Cowboy, Doctor, Miner and Vampire.

How Classes Work

You pick a class in the lobby before a run starts. It changes what you spawn with, and most classes also give you a special power. You can only use one class per run.

You buy classes from the Tailor in the lobby, and you pay in Bonds. Bonds are the lobby money. The cash you pick up during a run is different, and it can’t buy classes.

Every class starts with 100 health and the same walking speed unless its own row says something else. Every class can sprint, too.

Your class is yours for good. Once you buy one, you can switch to it before any run. You can also gift a class to a friend.

All 29 Classes You Can Buy, Cheapest First

These are sorted by price, the same way the shop sorts them. The catch column is the thing that makes each one harder to play.

15 Bonds (3 classes)

The cheapest classes in the game. New players get 30 Bonds free, which covers two of these.

Class Starts with What it does The catch
Doctor 2 bandages, 2 snake oils Can revive teammates without a bandage by giving up some of its own health. Those revives cost you health
Miner 2 coal, a pickaxe, a mining helmet Brings its own train fuel and mines ore fast. None
Musician A banjo Heals other players by playing the banjo. No melee weapon to start

20 Bonds (1 class)

Just one class sits at this price, and it’s the fire one.

Class Starts with What it does The catch
Arsonist 4 molotovs Fire can’t hurt it, and its fire does double damage. None

35 Bonds (4 classes)

Munitions Expert is here, one of the two newest classes. It came out on June 26, 2026, along with Cursed.

Class Starts with What it does The catch
Corrosioneer An acid barrel and an acid mine Acid can’t hurt it. None
Munitions Expert Light ammo, medium ammo and shotgun shells Extra bullets to use or hand to friends. You still have to find a gun
Necromancer A shovel Enemies it kills with a melee weapon have a 25% chance to come back on its side. Loses 10 health for each one
Packmaster A shovel and 3 tame wolves Wild wolves that bite it turn tame too. None

50 Bonds (6 classes)

Cowboy sits in this group. It used to cost less and was raised to 50.

Class Starts with What it does The catch
Conductor 2 coal Your train’s top speed goes up 30%. No melee weapon to start
Cowboy A revolver, revolver ammo, a saddle Gets its own horse at the start of the run. None
Cursed A shovel Starts 10% weaker, then gets stronger every minute until it’s 15% above normal. A slow start
High Roller A shovel Money bags pay 1.5 times more. 10 times more likely to get hit by lightning on storm nights
The Alamo 3 barbed wire, 3 metal sheets, a helmet Builds walls on the train right away. None
Werewolf A shovel Twice the damage, speed and health at night. 10% weaker in the daytime

75 Bonds (12 classes)

The most common price by far. Twelve of the 29 classes cost exactly 75 Bonds.

Class Starts with What it does The catch
Demolitionist A gunpowder barrel and 4 landmines Explosives do 150% damage, and its own blasts only do a quarter of the damage to it. None
Elf 3 frost grenades Lets out a freezing blast when it dies. None
Hunter A crossbow, arrows, 2 bear traps Every wild wolf becomes a werewolf. Werewolves everywhere, and no wolves to tame
King A shovel More health and damage for every teammate playing Knight. Only good with Knight teammates
Knight A helmet, a chestplate, a sword Armor and a sword from the first second. None
Milkman A bottle of milk Health, damage, speed and healing all go up the more milk you’re covered in. You have to stop and pour the milk on
President A shovel A strong soldier shows up to fight when it dies. Enemies spot it from twice as far
Priest 2 crucifixes, 2 holy water Lightning can’t hurt it. None
Survivalist A tomahawk Hits harder the more health it has lost. None
Tycoon A shovel More damage and more max health the more money it carries. Needs a lot of spare money
Vampire A vampire knife Twice the speed and twice the melee damage. Blood heals it. Sunlight hurts it
Zombie A shovel Eats bodies to heal, and enemies notice it less. Can’t use bandages or snake oil

100 Bonds (3 classes)

The top price. Three classes, and one of them is from the very first batch.

Class Starts with What it does The catch
Frankenstein A shovel Comes back to life by itself once per game. None
Ghost A shovel Harder to spot, and bullets have a 90% chance to do no damage. Takes 50% more damage from melee hits
Ironclad A helmet, a chestplate, 2 shoulder pads A full set of armor. You move 10% slower

The Free Class: None

Everyone starts as None. It spawns with a shovel and nothing else, and it has no power at all.

It still matters for one reason. None is the only class you’re allowed to play in the Scorched Earth mode.

The 5 Classes You Can’t Buy

None of these are in the Tailor’s shop. Alien can be unlocked any time you like. The other four came with events.

Class Starts with What it does How you get it Can you get it now?
Alien A ray rifle, 2 ray ammo, 4 alien bodyguards Every run gets an alien area with ray ammo to mine. Beat the secret Alien Mode Yes, any time
Horse A shovel You play as a horse. It’s faster, and friends can ride you with a saddle. Beat the Horsing Around mode No. It last ran April 11 to 13, 2026
Eggslinger An egg Lays an egg every 2 minutes that hatches a helper. Beat the Eggstravaganza mode No. It’s an Easter mode
Santa Nothing Every run gets a Christmas area full of presents. Beat the Frost Bite mode No. It closed January 4, 2026
Krampus Nothing A Christmas area in every run, and a Krampus boss fights for you when you die. Gift 2 classes or trains to other players It’s a Christmas 2025 event class

How to Get the Alien Class

Alien Mode is a secret, and it isn’t on the mode list. You start it from inside a normal run.

At the very start, in the fort town where your train sits, there are hidden levers. Pull all of them and the run turns into Alien Mode. This works in any mode, including Normal and Nightmare.

Beat that run and the Alien class is yours. It spawns with a ray rifle and four alien bodyguards. Ray ammo is hard to find, so save it for big enemies.

How to Get the Horse Class

You get the Horse by beating Horsing Around. In that mode there’s no train, and everyone plays as a horse all the way to the end.

It first showed up for April Fools in 2025. It came back from late July to August 15, 2025, and again on April 11 to 13, 2026. It’s closed right now.

If you beat it once, you keep the Horse class for good. So when it shows up in the mode list again, that’s your chance.

How to Get the Eggslinger Class

Eggslinger came from Eggstravaganza, the Easter mode. It ran at Easter in 2025 and came back on April 3, 2026, cut down to 40km.

Finishing it gave you the class. Its eggs hatch zombies, wolves, werewolves or outlaws that follow you and fight on your side.

How to Get the Santa Class

Santa was the prize for beating Frost Bite, the Christmas mode. It ran from December 21, 2025 to January 4, 2026.

Only 1,302,904 players ever got the Frost Bite badge for beating it. Compare that with the 33,503,061 players who’ve made it to the end of the tracks. That’s about one Santa for every 26 of them.

How to Get the Krampus Class

Krampus came with the same 2025 Christmas update. To get it, you had to gift two things to other players, like classes or trains. You could even gift the same person twice.

The cheapest way to do that is two 15 Bond classes, so 30 Bonds in all. Krampus starts with no items, and its boss only helps after you die. It’s much better with friends than alone.

What Every Class Costs All Together

Add up all 29 prices and you get 1,705 Bonds. That’s a lot more than it used to be, because new classes keep getting added.

Winning a run pays Bonds too. A Normal win gives 10 and a Nightmare win gives 20. On wins alone, that’s 171 Normal wins or 86 Nightmare wins for every class.

Wins aren’t where most Bonds come from, though. You get far more by picking them up during a run. Banks, the castle and the big forts are packed with them. A run where you clear every big building can pay about 100 to 130 Bonds. At that pace, every class takes roughly 14 to 18 good runs.

New to the game? You get 30 Bonds free. That’s enough for two of the 15 Bond classes right away. Doctor and Miner are both in that group.

Buying Bonds With Robux

Dead Rails Bond packs in Robux

You never have to pay. Every class in the shop can be bought with Bonds you find. But if you do use Robux, the pack you pick matters a lot.

The small pack costs R$13 for each Bond. The biggest costs about R$2.83 each. That’s 4.6 times cheaper per Bond.

Pack Robux Robux per Bond
5 Bonds R$65 R$13
10 Bonds R$95 R$9.50
20 Bonds R$129 R$6.45
50 Bonds R$199 R$3.98
100 Bonds R$379 R$3.79
200 Bonds R$565 R$2.83

The shop has no odd amounts, so here’s the cheapest way to get enough Bonds for one class at each price.

Class price Cheapest Robux What to buy
15 Bonds R$129 1 x 20 pack
20 Bonds R$129 1 x 20 pack
35 Bonds R$199 1 x 50 pack
50 Bonds R$199 1 x 50 pack
75 Bonds R$379 1 x 100 pack
100 Bonds R$379 1 x 100 pack

Two price gaps vanish when you pay in Robux. A 35 Bond class and a 50 Bond class both cost R$199. A 75 Bond class and a 100 Bond class both cost R$379. If you’re paying anyway, the extra Bonds are left over for next time.

Buying all 29 classes with Robux would cost at least R$4,964. There’s also a R$149 Starter Pack with the Doctor in it. It only shows up in your first 72 hours, and the Doctor on its own is just 15 Bonds.

Class Mastery: The 4 Classes That Level Up

Class Mastery came out on August 15, 2026. It lets a class level up from 1 to 10 as you play it. Right now it only works for 4 classes: Cowboy, Doctor, Miner and Vampire. They have a star next to them on the class screen.

You earn class XP just by playing that class, and more when you win. Each class also has a daily quest that gives a big XP boost.

Every Mastery class unlocks two powers on the way up. You can only have one turned on at a time. Press Q to use it, or tap the button on mobile.

Class Daily quest First power Second power Level 10 reward
Cowboy Get 5 headshot kills in one run Quick Draw: your first 2 shots after drawing a gun fire faster. Every 30 seconds. Dead Eye: lock on to up to 6 enemies and hit each one for 100 damage. Every 75 seconds. A new horse shows up 20 seconds after yours dies
Doctor Revive 2 teammates in one run Healing Aura: a healing circle that gives 5 health a second for 8 seconds. Every 60 seconds. Mass Revive: bring back every dead teammate at once, for 20 of your health each. Every 190 seconds. Your health comes back 3 times faster
Miner Mine 5 ores in one run Tremor Strike: slam the ground for 30 damage and stun enemies close by. Every 60 seconds. Canary’s Warning: light up enemies and ore within 100 studs for 8 seconds. Every 30 seconds. A 25% chance to get double ore
Vampire Get 15 melee kills in one run Exsanguinate: lunge 35 studs forward. Every 25 seconds. Umbral Shroud: turn invisible and safe from the sun for 6 seconds. Every 60 seconds. Sunlight can’t hurt you any more

Vampire’s level 10 reward removes its only catch. Sunlight hurts a Vampire, and at level 10 it doesn’t any more.

The update notes call these four the first batch, with more classes coming next. A Mastery XP Boost is also sold for R$100. It lasts 3 runs.
