Twisteds are the things hunting you in Dandy’s World. They look like the Toons you play as, only wrong, and they patrol the floors while you work the machines.
The question everyone asks is simple. Can it catch me if I run?
For most of them the answer is no.
This page lists all 41 Twisteds with how fast they chase, how long they stay interested and how far they can see. It also covers what makes each one different.
The quick answer
There are 41 Twisteds. 36 of them chase you and 5 never do.
The one thing worth remembering. A Toon runs at 20 with one movement star, and 29 of the 36 chasing Twisteds top out at 20 or less. That is 81% of them, so if you run in a straight line, most of the time you simply get away.
The exceptions are worth learning by name. Only 7 can outrun a running Toon at all, and only Dyle beats a five-star Toon.
The ones that can outrun you
These are the only Twisteds whose chase speed goes above 20, which is what the slowest Toon runs at.

Three of them only speed up partway through. Glisten walks at 6 until his meter fills, then chases at 24. Coal jumps from 16 to 25 in a blackout. Dyle gets faster the longer he can see you, all the way to 40.
How to read the stats
Every Twisted has three numbers that matter, and they explain almost all of their behaviour.
| Stat |
What it means |
What is normal |
| Chase speed |
How fast it moves once it has spotted you |
18 for 11 of them |
| Walk speed |
How fast it patrols before it sees you |
Usually about 10 |
| Attention span |
How long it keeps hunting after losing sight of you |
1.5 seconds is average |
| Detection range |
How far away it can notice you |
Average for 18 of them |
For comparison, a Toon walks at 10 with one movement star and 20 with five. Running takes that to 20 and 30.
So a Twisted at 18 is faster than you walking and slower than you running. That is the whole game in one sentence.

What the numbers tell us
Running beats almost everything
29 of the 36 chasing Twisteds have a top speed of 20 or below. Every Toon in the game runs at least that fast.
So panicking and hiding is usually worse than simply running. Watch your stamina instead, because that is what actually stops you.
Most of them move at the same speed
11 of the 41 chase at exactly 18. Once you know how that feels, you can tell instantly when something faster is behind you.
The slowest chaser is Ginger at 14, which is slower than a Toon walking with four movement stars.
Two of them give you no warning
Most Twisteds patrol at about 10 and then speed up when they spot you. That change is your cue to move.
Flutter roams at 18.5 and chases at 18.5, and Flyte is within half a point of his own chase speed. With those two there is no speed-up to notice, so treat them as hunting you the whole time.
Attention span decides whether hiding works
Attention span is how long a Twisted keeps looking after it loses you. It runs from half a second up to ten seconds.
Against a short attention span, breaking line of sight works almost at once. Against Ginger at ten seconds, you need real distance, not a corner.
