Cat Battles has no health bars. You win by being the last cat in the ring, so every push and grab counts. Your ability is the one special move you bring into a match, and the right one can save you at the edge.
This page lists all 11 abilities, what each costs, how long it lasts and how long you wait to use it again. It also shows how often each one can fire in a minute. Checked on October 23, 2026.
Quick answer. Dash is free and can fire more than twice as often as anything else. The best Coin buys are Nine Lives at 2,000 Coins, for a second life each match, and Hairball at 12,000. Shark Attack and Wind Shurikens only come in Robux bundles.

How often you can use each one

The free Dash can go about 9.5 times a minute. The next best is Hiss at 4.3, so Dash fires more than twice as often as anything you can buy. That is why lots of players never swap it out.
Nine Lives can only bring you back once per match, no matter how often its cooldown resets. So for Nine Lives the cooldown hardly matters.
The buffs that last the longest
Three abilities stay on for a few seconds and help the whole time. Here is how much of the fight each one is switched on, if you use it every time it is ready.

Fluff Up is on 20% of the time, the most of any ability. Anchor lasts 3 seconds, just like Catnip, but costs 2,000 Coins instead of 5,000. That is 40% of the price for the same active time.
Which ability should you buy?
- Just starting: keep Dash. It is free and the fastest to come back.
- Keep getting grabbed: Hiss, for 750 Coins. It makes the cat holding you let go.
- Keep getting pushed out: Anchor, for 2,000. It makes you harder to move.
- Want a second chance: Nine Lives, for 2,000. You come back once each match.
- Saving up: Hairball, for 12,000. It makes cats slip, which sets up easy throws. It costs 6 times as much as Nine Lives.
Coin gamepasses
Double Coins costs 349 Robux and doubles the coins you earn. VIP costs 199 Robux and adds a quarter more. Double Coins gives 4 times the boost for less than twice the price, and the two passes stack.
Tips for using abilities
- Save Dash for when you get knocked toward the edge.
- Use Hiss the moment you are grabbed, before the other cat reaches the edge.
- Drop a Hairball where other cats are walking. You can slip on it too.
- Use Stomp when lots of cats are bunched up near the edge.
- Fluff Up first, then go for the hit. You have 4 seconds.
- Ask a parent before you spend Robux.
