Last Updated: August 2026 | Badge, ship and player numbers checked against the live game.
The Space Simulator hands you a small ship on Earth and lets you fly anywhere in the solar system. Mercury, Venus, Mars, all the gas giants, Pluto, Sedna and Planet X are out there, along with the space station, the Hubble telescope and Halley’s Comet. You mine what you find, sell it for credits, buy a faster ship and go further.
It is also the best liked game we have written up all month, with about 96 votes in every 100 being likes. This page has the ships, the orb hunt, all 26 badges and the strangest thing about the game, which is that it follows real space news.

How to Play The Space Simulator
- Take off and get to the Moon first. It is the shortest trip and 25 million players have made it.
- Pick up the orb you find there and carry it home. You can only hold two at once.
- Put it on the podium on Earth. That unlocks a free ship that is much faster than your first one.
- Mine rocks and ores wherever you land, then sell them back home for credits.
- Spend credits on speed and toughness for your ship before you buy a new one.
- Use the Hubble telescope. It is free, it is a badge, and it shows you where to go next.
- Work outwards. Mars, then the gas giants, then the cold places at the edge.
The Space Simulator Gameplay: Flying, Mining and Orbs
The loop is fly, land, mine, come home, sell, upgrade. Distances are real enough that getting somewhere new feels like a trip rather than a menu click.
Credits come from selling what you dig up, and they buy ship upgrades and better ships. There is also a level, which climbs to 30 and gives you a new title every couple of levels.
Orbs are the collection running underneath all of it. They sit on planets, moons and comets, and you can carry only two at a time no matter what you buy.
One thing that catches people out. Private servers are switched off, so you cannot rent a quiet copy of the solar system for you and your friends.

Only one ship is in the shop. Everything else you fly is either free or bought with credits you earned.
The Corvette is the one to go after on day one. It costs nothing, it just asks you to fetch an orb from the Moon and bring it home.
Two more craft exist in the game as hidden things rather than ships you can buy. Every ship, including the free ones, can have its speed and toughness upgraded.

The Orb Hunt
Orbs arrived in May 2024 and they are the closest thing this game has to a story. They are round objects with a little circuit on top, and they are hidden on 34 different worlds.
Collect all 34 in the normal game and you become VIP. There is a shorter classic set of 26, and finishing that makes you a Champion instead.
Do not go hunting for a map. Some of them, including the ones on Sedna, Planet X and the gas giants, sit in a different place for every player.
That is a deliberate choice and it is unusual. It means no video can hand you the answer, and a friend standing on the spot cannot help you.

More than 34 million players have taken off and 25 million reached the Moon, so three quarters of everybody who flies gets that far.
Mars is where it thins out. Three million made it there, which is under one in ten of everybody who has flown.
A caveat on all of these. The badges were added five months after the game opened, so the earliest players are missing and every count here is a floor rather than an exact total.

Two of these are the reason this game is worth writing about. In autumn 2024 the real Earth briefly caught a tiny second moon called 2024 PT5, and this game added a badge for taking a sample from it.
A year later a comet from outside our solar system was in the news, and within days the game had renamed itself after it and added a badge for stopping it hitting Earth.
That is a one person team turning real space news into a game update in about a week. It happens often enough here to be the thing that sets this game apart.
The Shop
Twelve passes, 1,691 Robux for the lot, and not one of them has ever been taken off sale. That is rare and it means nothing you read about here has quietly disappeared.
Read the names for what they say about the free game. Two of them add backpack space, which tells you the free carry limit is small, and one at 50 Robux stops other players flying off in your ship.
Only two really change your speed through the game: double experience at 199 and the Vortex ship at 399. The rest are comforts.
There is one free boost worth knowing. The developer says Roblox Premium members get 15 percent more speed out of their ships.
Seasons And Updates
The season changes every Saturday morning. New Centaur asteroids appear with rare, epic, legendary and mythic items inside them, and they are gone again the following week.
Bigger updates land about once a month, and the game announces them in its own name on Roblox. It has recently said Mercury, Umbriel and Asteroid Belt.
Reading those names in order gives you the whole history: Pluto, then Makemake, then Voyager, then Eris, then the Sun, then Sedna, then Planet X.
Codes and Scripts
There are no codes and no code box in the game. Our The Space Simulator codes page covers what it hands out instead, including that free ship.
Two scripts load for the game and one of them is readable. Our The Space Simulator script page has both, and the developer’s own rule on the subject.
Tips for New The Space Simulator Players
- Get the Moon orb home before you do anything else. It is a free ship for one short trip.
- Upgrade the ship you have before buying a new one. Speed and toughness both matter.
- Use the telescope early. It costs nothing and it tells you where things are.
- Do not chase an orb guide. Several of them move for every player.
- Turn up on a Saturday for the new asteroids and the rare items in them.
- Answer distress signals. Rescuing somebody is free and hardly anybody does it.
- Buy the ship lock if you play in busy servers. Other people can fly off in your ship.
