Starving Pianists

Last Updated: August 2026  |  Four badges, and three of them quietly record how often huge tips happen.

Starving Pianists is a game about busking. You sit at a keyboard in a room of up to 27 other people, play something, and the ones who enjoy it tip you Robux. There is no currency to farm and nothing to grind, because your income is somebody else deciding you were worth it.

It opened in October 2024 and has passed 53 million visits. This page has the four badges, which between them show how often the really big tips land, the five separate rooms, the shop, and the name this game started out with.

How to Play Starving Pianists

Nothing scores you here and nothing is timed. You play, people listen, and some of them pay you.

  1. Find a busy room. Your income is the people listening, so an empty server earns you nothing no matter how well you play.
  2. Sit at a piano and play with your keyboard. The letter keys are the notes, the same as most piano games.
  3. Hold space for the sustain pedal. It is the single biggest difference between sounding clumsy and sounding musical.
  4. Use the arrow keys to shift the whole keyboard up or down if a piece sits awkwardly.
  5. Record a piece you like. The game is built around recording and playing back, so you can prepare rather than perform cold.
  6. Play things people recognise. Tips come from listeners enjoying it, so a familiar tune beats a difficult one.
  7. Try the bigger room once you are confident. Forty listeners is more chances at a tip than twenty seven.

The one thing worth knowing early is that a busy room matters more than skill. Two listeners cannot tip you much, no matter how good you are.

Starving Pianists Gameplay: How Often the Big Ones Land

This game has only four badges, and three of them are for being in the room when somebody gives a very large tip. That turns them into a public record of how often it happens.

Badge Players who have it Share of everyone who came in
Welcome 18,946,072 Everyone. This is the number the rest are measured against.
Saw a 1,000 tip 1,872,584 About 10 in every 100
Saw a 10,000 tip 203,182 About 1 in every 100
Saw a 100,000 tip 22,423 About 1 in every 845

About one player in ten has seen a thousand handed over. Only about one in 845 has seen a hundred thousand.

The steps between them are the striking part. Going from a thousand to ten thousand cuts the number of people who have seen it to about eleven in every hundred.

Going from ten thousand to a hundred thousand cuts it by almost exactly the same amount again. Two separate steps, two drops of nearly the same size.

One thing to be clear about. These badges are for watching, not for giving. Rooms hold 28 people, so a single big tip can hand the badge to everybody standing there.

So the numbers tell you how many players have witnessed one of these moments. They do not tell you how many times it has happened.

The Big Ones Came a Year Before You Could Buy One

The dates on this game tell a small story, and both halves are written into the game itself.

In July 2025 those three badges appeared, rewarding players for being present when a huge tip landed. The moment became something to chase.

The item that lets you make one of those donations did not go on sale until the very end of July 2026. That is a full year later.

So the spectacle existed first and became something you could buy afterwards. People had been hoping to witness one for a year before anybody could simply purchase the moment.

The Shop

What the shop sells Price
A donation big enough to set off a room-wide effect 1,000 Robux
A fourth save slot 200 Robux
A third save slot 150 Robux
Invisibility 117 Robux
A second save slot 100 Robux
A first extra save slot 50 Robux

Six items, 1,617 Robux for all of them. Four are extra save slots and they climb as you go, from 50 up to 200.

All four went on sale on the same day, three days after the game opened. That rising staircase was planned from the start rather than added later.

The invisibility item at 117 Robux is an oddly exact number in a shop where everything else is round.

Five Rooms, Including an Official Autoplay One

Room What it is
The main room Twenty eight players, where most people are
The autoplay room An official room where the game plays for you, run by the developer
The voice chat room The same game with voices on
The forty player room A bigger audience, which matters when your income is tips
Relapse A separately named room attached to the game. Nothing explains what it is

The autoplay room is worth knowing about, because in most piano games that is the thing people go hunting for a script to do.

Here the developer just built a room for it. You walk in and the game plays, and it costs nothing.

The forty player room matters for a different reason. When your income is tips, a bigger audience is worth more than any upgrade.

The last one is a mystery. It has its own name, it sits alongside the others, and nothing anywhere says what it is.

It Opened Calling Itself a Donation Game

A week after this game went live, its page on Roblox had the words donation game right in the title.

A saved copy from October 2024 still carries it. The name was trimmed back to just the game title soon after.

It is a small thing but it tells you what the game was always about. The piano is the performance and the tipping is the game.

The page has also carried a Valentines tag once, in February 2025, which is how this game marks an event rather than handing out a code.

Tips for New Starving Pianists Players

  1. Go where the people are. A full room is worth more than any amount of practice, because listeners are your income.
  2. Learn the sustain pedal first. Holding space is one key and it makes everything you play sound better.
  3. Record something before you perform. The game is built for it, and a prepared piece beats fumbling live.
  4. Play tunes people know. A recognisable song gets tipped far more often than a difficult one nobody recognises.
  5. Do not buy save slots early. They only matter once you have several recordings worth keeping.
  6. Visit the autoplay room if you just want to listen. It is free and it is an official part of the game.

Starving Pianists FAQ

How do I make money?

Other players tip you for playing. There is nothing to collect and nothing to farm, so a busy room matters more than anything else.

What is the rarest badge?

Being in the room when somebody gave a hundred thousand. About one player in 845 has seen it happen.

Do those badges mean people donated that much?

They mean players watched it happen. Rooms hold 28, so one large tip can give the badge to everybody present at once.

Is there an autoplay?

Yes, and it has its own official room. You do not need anything extra to use it.

Are there any codes?

No, and there never have been. Our Starving Pianists codes page explains how the game earns instead.

Is there a working script?

No, and this game is close to impossible to automate. Our Starving Pianists script page explains why.

How many rooms are there?

Five. The main one, an autoplay room, a voice chat room, a forty player room and one nobody can explain.

Who made it?

One verified person rather than a studio group, which is unusual for a game with 53 million visits.

About the Developer

This game is owned by a single verified account rather than a studio group. Almost every game this size we have covered belongs to a team.

Their profile is three lines long and says joins are on for followers, which is a very direct way of saying you can find them in the game.

There is a fan group linked from the game page as well, though it is a modest one with about seven thousand members.

If you like piano games, we cover the other big ones: Digital Piano, Visual Pianos and, for something completely different, Math for Brainrots.
