SCP: Roleplay drops you inside a secret research site full of contained anomalies. You start as a Class – D prisoner, a Scientist or a Guard, and you work up from there. The job is to keep the things in the cells inside the cells. Fifty players share a site, so it only takes one mistake for that to stop being true.

The game has been running since May 2020 and has passed 492 million visits. This page covers the teams, the ranks, what Credits actually buy, and all 18 achievements ranked by how many players have managed each one.

How to Play SCP: Roleplay

There is a lot going on here for a first-timer. This order gets you up to speed without drowning.

Pick a starting team. Class – D, Scientist and Guard are free, and Class – D is the one everybody starts on.
Learn the layout before you try anything clever. Knowing where the exits are matters more than any weapon.
Watch your Credits in the top left. You earn one every minute or two just by being in the game.
Buy something cheap first. A knife or a vest costs 2 credits, which is a few minutes of play.
Earn team XP to climb ranks. Each promotion also lets you pick between two rank perks from an Equipment Locker.
Try the Modes button on the right of the menu once you are comfortable. Infection and the other modes have their own achievements.

Scripts do exist for this game and four of them work, but none of them earn you Credits or rank XP. Our script page covers what they can and cannot do.

SCP: Roleplay Gameplay

Every round is a tug of war between the people keeping the site locked down and the people trying to break it open. Guards and task forces hold the line. Class – Ds want out. The Chaos Insurgency wants the anomalies loose.

Ranks are how you get anywhere. Team XP unlocks them, and each promotion can hand you cosmetics, new weapons or a choice between two perks. The top Class – D rank needs 1,600 XP, and the top Scientific rank needs 1,200.

Once you max a team you can prestige it, which wipes that team’s rank progress in exchange for rewards. There is no limit on how many times you can do it. Under tier 4 you get coloured stars under your name. At tier 4 and above that becomes a golden crown with your prestige count next to it.

The main site holds 50 players. Two other versions sit on the same game page, one for 700 players at once and one with voice chat turned on.

All 18 Achievements Ranked

Roblox counts exactly how many players hold each achievement, so the list doubles as a difficulty chart. You find them under the Miscellaneous tab at the top left, the one with the paint brush, and most of them pay out cosmetics.

Here is the part worth noticing. The two most earned achievements in a game about containing things are both about running away. Over 1.2 million players have escaped as a Class – D with nothing in their hands, and 769,303 have got out through the outside helipad.

My Ranked Ladder is the rarest thing in this game by a distance. Only 264 players have won 50 Ranked matches, against 1,265,089 for the most common one. That is a gap of about 4,792 times on a game with nearly half a billion visits.

Beast Handler is the newest, added in May 2026, and only 2,148 players have it so far.

Credits and What They Buy

Credits are the money here. You earn one every minute or two of play, and your balance sits in the top left corner. The shop sells 12 things, and the price range is enormous.

Playing as SCP-682 costs 2,500 credits, which works out at somewhere between 42 and 83 hours in the game. A knife is about three minutes. That is over a thousand times the difference for things sold on the same shelf.

You can buy credits with Robux instead. The packs are 100 for 50 Robux, 250 for 125, 1,000 for 500 and 5,000 for 2,500. At that rate SCP-682 comes to about 1,250 Robux.

Most of the paid extras here are whole teams rather than items. Prices come straight from Roblox this week.

Here is something unusual about this shop. Eight of those nine went up on the day the game launched in May 2020. Every one of them is still on sale six years later. Plenty of Roblox games quietly retire half their shop. This one has not.

Exactly one pass has ever been pulled. A Freeze Gun went up just before Christmas 2024 and came off sale on the last day of 2025. Its own description called it a seasonal weapon.

Who Makes SCP: Roleplay

SCP: Roleplay is run by the SCP | Roleplay Community group, which carries the Roblox verified tick and has over 1.2 million members. The game opened in May 2020 and is still being worked on, with an update landing days before this page went up. Around 3,100 people are in it at any moment.

Tips for New SCP: Roleplay Players

Start as a Class – D and try escaping with nothing equipped. It is the most earned achievement in the game, so it is the friendliest first goal.
Learn the outside helipad early. Two separate achievements go through it, including one of the rarest in the game.
Spend your first credits on cheap gear, not big unlocks. A knife or vest costs about three minutes of play, while SCP-682 costs closer to 42 hours.
Redeem the two permanent codes before the money ones. A gun and a morph stay with you, while cash gets spent.
Pick your rank perks carefully at every promotion. You choose between two each time, and most of them matter in a fight.
Skip Ranked unless you really mean it. Only 264 players in the whole game have won 50 Ranked matches.
Use the Modes button on the right of the menu. Infection and the other modes have their own achievements you cannot get in the normal site.

How do you earn Credits?

Just by playing. You get one credit every minute or two, and they also come from finishing Quests. You can buy them with Robux too, at 100 credits for 50 Robux.

What is the most expensive thing in the game?

Playing as SCP-682 at 2,500 credits, which is roughly 42 to 83 hours of play or about 1,250 Robux. The O5 Council gamepass is the priciest paid item at 1,875 Robux.

What does prestige do?

It resets one team’s rank progress in exchange for rewards, and there is no limit on how often you can do it. You get coloured stars under your name, then a golden crown once you pass tier 4.
