PETAPETA

Last Updated: July 2026  |  Badge counts and shop prices checked against the live game.

PETAPETA is a Japanese horror game made by the Omochi Studio team. You wake up in an old hotel that keeps going and going, and a pale woman crawls after you on her hands. To get up a floor you have to find a key, crack a safe, open a box and pin a paper charm to the wall. She hunts by sound, so the only thing that saves you is a closet or a table to dive under.

It opened in August 2023 and has now passed 600 million visits, which puts it near the top 300 games on all of Roblox. This page pulls the real numbers straight out of the game. Every level and what it wants from you. How far players really get. What the shop costs. And the one badge in here that has never been handed to a single person.

How to Play PETAPETA

Every floor is the same loop with a new twist bolted on. Learn the loop and the game stops being confusing.

  1. Search the rooms. Look behind closets, under tables, in the pillows and through the drawers.
  2. Find the key. On the later floors the key is locked in a safe, so you need a code first.
  3. Open the box. The key opens it, and inside is the ofuda, the paper charm.
  4. Watch out once you pick the charm up. That is the moment PETAPETA turns up, every single time.
  5. Pin the charm to a wall or the floor in the hallway. It sits there and waits.
  6. Let her come to it. The charm goes off when she gets close and pushes her back.
  7. Grab any Zeni you pass on the way. You spend it in the shop after the run ends, not during.

Hiding is the whole defence. Closets and the space under a table both work, and some broken furniture works without a button. The party popper stuns her for a few seconds if you have one, but it does nothing on the last floor.

Every Level and What It Wants

Six floors make up the main run. The players who write the game’s own wiki count nine now, since a batch of new floors went in through spring 2026. The shop backs that up by selling a ticket straight to level 7.

Level What you have to do
Level 1 Find the key, open the box, take the charm and pin it up. The key room and the box room never move, and both have an eye banner by the doors.
Level 2 Now there is a safe. Find the code paper on a wall, open the safe for the key, then the box, then the charm.
Level 3 The code hides in the wrecked room. Look through the hole, look away when the Evil appears, then look back and read it off the hanging piece.
Level 4 No safe. Find four coloured dolls and a doll head, fix the broken one, then set all five on the table in the order shown on the sheet.
Level 5 The big one. A shelf with dials needs a number, and you also have to build the ritual with a plate, a photo, a rope and a lighter.
Level 6 No safe and no charm. Four shapes hidden in cubbies, eye scrolls pointing the way, a candle puzzle, then a straight run for the door.

One thing to know before you look anything up. The safe codes are made fresh every run, so a number off a video will never open your safe. What helps is knowing which room to walk into.

PETAPETA Gameplay: Who Is Chasing You

Four things move around the hotel that are not players, and only two of them can actually get you.

PETAPETA is the one the game is named after. She is huge and pale with empty eye sockets, and she pulls herself along on her hands. She shows up on every floor, mostly right after you pick up the charm or take a key out of a safe. Hiding beats her.

The Evil only lives on level 3, down a hole in the corner of a wrecked room. Look into the hole and it comes. Look away, then look back, and the code you need is written up on the hanging piece. Two badges track this, one for peeking and one for making eye contact, and about 5.7 million players have made that mistake.

The Trickster Doll cannot hurt you but will take a year off your life. Hide under a table with dolls on top and there is a chance one of them turns round. Everybody in the server sees a message saying you almost fainted.

The cursed hanging scrolls are the banners with an eye on them. Some of them just sit there. Some of them are part of the level 6 puzzle and point you the way to go.

How Far Players Really Get

Roblox counts how many players hold each badge. So this is a real record of what happens in here, not anybody’s guess.

Badge Players with it What it is for
Newcomer 127,098,344 Playing for the very first time
Lost in Fear 68,074,916 Losing a run before it finishes
Explorer 65,026,629 Escaping the hotel once
Navigator 38,493,963 Escaping twice in a row
Solver 15,323,854 Escaping four times
Pathfinder 23,825,387 Getting out of the world of the ghost
Safe Unlocker 20,673,712 Opening a safe with the right code

Read the top three rows together. Over 127 million people have walked into this hotel. Only 65 million have ever walked back out, so it is close to a coin flip whether you escape even once.

After that it drops fast. Getting out twice in a row cuts the group nearly in half again, and getting out four times leaves 15 million. That badge is called Solver, which is a fair name for it.

The Rarest Badges in the Game

There are 87 badges in PETAPETA. Here are the ten hardly anybody has, and the first row is the strangest thing we have found in a Roblox game all year.

Badge Players with it What it is for
Give everything 0 Selling 500,000 tokens
You Did it! 4 An upgrade landing at under one in ten odds
New Power 9 Upgrading 100 times
Beyond Goodbye 32 Playing with the same friend 100 times
Reckless Curiosity 34 Pulling a legendary card five times
Survivor of All Disasters 35 Beating all seven disasters
No regrets 50 Drawing 500 cards
Go deeper 66 Upgrading 30 times
Swimming in Zeni 221 Earning 1,000,000 Zeni
Start your own store 729 Spending 500,000 Zeni in the shop

Give everything has been sitting in the game since January 2025. It is switched on, it works, and in eighteen months it has gone to zero players. Not a single person has sold half a million tokens.

The next one up has four holders. Against the 127 million people who have played, that is about one player in every 32 million. That is rarer than most limited items on Roblox.

One more worth calling out. The game keeps seven disaster badges, one for each nasty twist like the blackout or the silence. Exactly 35 players hold the badge for beating all seven.

If you use the game’s own wiki, note that it still says there are 47 badges. That was true once. There are 87 now, so the newer half of the list is not written up anywhere yet.

Zeni and the Shop

Zeni is the money in here. You pick it up off floors, out of cubbies and inside anything you can search, and the total sits at the top of your screen. You only get to spend it once the run ends, so a good run pays for the next one.

Item Price What it does
Better Flashlight 150 Zeni Brightness up 1 for 30 minutes
Powerful Flashlight 500 Zeni Brightness up 2 for 30 minutes
Onigiri (small) 150 Zeni Stamina up 1 for 30 minutes
Onigiri (large) 1,000 Zeni Stamina up 3 for 30 minutes
Better Sneakers 500 Zeni Dash speed up 1 for 30 minutes
Luxury Sneakers 1,000 Zeni Dash speed up 2 for 30 minutes
Spirit Bell 1,200 Zeni Rings when a key item is near you

Everything bought with Zeni wears off after 30 minutes. The Robux versions of the same items never wear off, which is the whole difference between the two halves of the shop.

Pass Price What it does
UNLIMITED REVIVES 1,499 Robux Get back up as many times as you need
Master Key 499 Robux The newest one, added in July 2026
Super luxury Sneakers 399 Robux Dash speed up 3, and it never wears off
Spirit Glasses 349 Robux Shows you nearby evil spirits
Zeni Boost 299 Robux More Zeni from every run
Super Zeni Picker 299 Robux Picks Zeni up for you
Super powerful Flashlight 299 Robux Brightness up 3, and it never wears off
20 Player Lobby 299 Robux Start a round for twenty people
Level 7 Teleport Ticket 249 Robux Drops you straight into level 7
Card Pouch and Slot Belt 199 Robux Four separate passes for card storage
Archive scope 199 Robux Shows you dropped archive items
Onigiri (extra large) 199 Robux Stamina up 4, and it never wears off
Bookmark of Remembrance 149 Robux Archive items turn up more often

All 17 together come to 5,833 Robux. Unlimited Revives at 1,499 is three times the price of anything else, which tells you what people find hardest in here.

Two more passes exist but cannot be bought. One is a Zeni doubler. The other is a spare lobby pass with the word delete in its name, which looks like something the team left behind by accident.

The Zeni badges show how long the money takes to build up. Earning 10,000 has been done by 2.8 million players, 100,000 by about 90,000 players, and a million by 221 people in the whole game.

The Other Two PETAPETA Games

This is one of three. The same team runs PETAPETA School of Nightmares, which has passed 254 million visits. There is also PETAPETA Cursed Mine Island, which opened in March 2026 and is still small.

Between them the three have taken over 860 million visits. What is unusual is how alike the scores are. The hotel sits at 84 percent likes, the school at 85 and the mine at 84, so this team has never had a flop.

It matters for another reason too. A lot of scripts and guides labelled PETAPETA are really written for the school game, so check the game link before you trust anything.

Tips for New PETAPETA Players

  • Walk, do not run, unless you have somewhere to hide picked out. She hunts by sound.
  • Learn where the closets are in a room before you need one. Looking for a hiding spot while she is behind you never ends well.
  • Grab every bit of Zeni you walk past. The first thing worth buying is the bell, because it rings near key items.
  • Play with friends. Items are shared, so one person can search while another sets up.
  • On level 3, go to the hole first. Everything else on that floor waits for the code.
  • On level 5, find the ritual room before you touch anything. Setting up early makes her come at you constantly.
  • Read the code off the corner of your screen instead of trying to remember it. It stays there once you have seen it.
  • Turn your sound up. Footsteps are the warning, and losing them is what made the July event so nasty.

PETAPETA FAQ

Is PETAPETA free to play?

Yes. The whole game is free and nothing you need to finish a floor costs Robux. The 17 passes only add speed, light, stamina and revives.

Does PETAPETA have codes?

There are no reward codes and no redeem box. The safe codes are made fresh every run, so nobody can list them for you.

What is the safe code?

There is no single answer. Level 2 hides it on a paper on a wall. Level 3 hides it down the hole with the Evil. Level 5 needs a number for the shelf of dials.

Can you play PETAPETA on your own?

Yes, and 2,453 players hold a badge for doing exactly that. It is much harder alone, because nobody can search while you set the charm.

What is the rarest badge?

Give everything, held by nobody at all. After that it is You Did it with four holders and New Power with nine.

How do you beat PETAPETA?

You cannot fight her. You hide until she passes, and the paper charm is the only thing that pushes her back.

How much would the whole shop cost?

5,833 Robux for all 17 passes. Unlimited Revives is 1,499 of that on its own.

Is there a script for PETAPETA?

There are five working ones and none of them need a key. Our script page walks through what each one does.

Who made PETAPETA?

The Omochi Studio team, whose Roblox group has over 400,000 members. They also run the school game and the mine game.
