My Restaurant! is a tycoon-style cooking game where you build your own restaurant from scratch, hire staff, and try to rake in as much cash as possible. It sounds simple, but there’s a surprising amount going on under the surface. If you’ve ever wanted to run a burger joint or a fancy dining spot without leaving your bedroom, this is basically that.
How My Restaurant Actually Works
You start with a tiny, sad little restaurant and a handful of cash. From there you buy kitchen equipment, set up counters, and place tables for customers to sit at. The more upgrades you stack, the faster your kitchen cranks out food and the more money rolls in.
Hiring employees is a big part of the game. You can bring on chefs, cashiers, and waiters, all of which you can upgrade individually to make them faster and more efficient. Leveling up your staff feels genuinely rewarding, especially when your restaurant starts running itself while you focus on expanding.
There’s also a prestige system that lets you reset your progress for big bonuses, which keeps the grind going long after your first restaurant is fully upgraded. You can even decorate your place with different furniture and themes to make it look unique. It’s a proper tycoon loop and it works pretty well.
The Good Stuff and the Frustrating Bits
The progression feels satisfying. Watching your little restaurant go from a broken-down food stall to a packed, multi-section dining room with upgraded chefs and decorations is genuinely fun. The game doesn’t throw a ton of confusing menus at you either, so it’s easy to pick up.
That said, the mid-game grind gets rough. Once the early upgrades are done, you’re basically sitting there waiting for coins to stack up so you can afford the next thing. It slows down a lot, and if you’re not the type to leave the game running in the background, it can feel like hitting a wall.
The game is still active and gets players regularly, though it’s not exactly at its peak popularity anymore. Updates have slowed down compared to a few years ago, and some of the older features feel a little dated next to newer Roblox tycoons. It’s still worth playing, but go in knowing it’s more of a chill grind than a fast-paced experience.
