How to Play Deagle Arena
- Join a server. Rooms hold 8 people and everybody starts with the same gun, so nobody has better equipment than you.
- Shoot with the left mouse button. On a controller it is the right trigger, and on a phone there are buttons on screen.
- Aim with the right mouse button, or the left trigger on a controller. On a phone you hold the shoot button to aim and let go to fire.
- Slide with C or Ctrl, or B on a controller. Sliding is the movement the game is built around and it is worth practising on its own.
- Every kill pays cash. Cash opens crates, and crates are where the skins come from.
- Play ranked to move up the twelve ranks. That ladder is the only long term score the game keeps on you.
There is no equipment to unlock that shoots better. Everything you can win is how the gun looks, so a match is decided by aim and movement rather than by what you have bought.

The first thing to notice is that Silver is not really a rank. 98 in every 100 players who reach Bronze also reach Silver, so the two of them are one step wearing two names.
The second thing is where the game is hardest, and it is not at the top. The narrowest step of all is Platinum to Diamond. Only about 16 in every 100 get through it, and it stays about that tight through Elite and Master too.
Then it loosens. Every step above Master is between 41 and 51 in a hundred, which is close to a coin flip each time.
So the shape of this game is three parts. Two ranks you get for turning up. Then five ranks that remove almost everybody. Then a top end where the players left are good enough that each rank is roughly even money.

That is a small shop for a game this size, and it is worth saying what it means. Nobody in your match paid for a better gun, because there is no better gun to buy.
The right hand column is the useful part. The game page never mentions gems, never says crates run on a timer, and never says luck is involved. Three of these five items give all of that away.
Two of the five were built on the day the game opened. Two more arrived on the 2nd of June, the same day as all twelve ranks, so the ranked update and the luck items shipped together.

There is also an event place sitting there ready. Nothing is running in it now, but it exists, which is usually a sign that something is planned.

Tips for New Deagle Arena Players
- Learn the slide before anything else. It is on C or Ctrl, and it is the movement the whole game is designed around.
- Do not treat Bronze and Silver as progress. Almost everyone who gets one gets the other, so your climb starts at Gold.
- Expect the wall at Platinum. Getting to Diamond is the single hardest step in the game and it catches people who thought they were doing well.
- Keep going once you reach Master. Every rank above it is close to a coin flip, so the top of the ladder is friendlier than the middle.
- Join the group. Its own page promises in-game rewards for members and it costs nothing.
- Save your cash for crates rather than spending it as you go. Crates are the only source of skins in the game.
- Nobody in your match has a better gun than you. If you are losing, it is aim or movement, not equipment.
