Anime Adventures is a tower defense gacha game by Gomu where you summon units inspired by famous anime heroes and place them to hold back waves of enemies. At its peak it was one of the biggest games on Roblox, and it has racked up over 2.5 billion visits since launching in December 2021.
Honesty up front: the game is still online and playable, but it has not received real updates since early 2025, so treat it as a classic you can revisit rather than a live-service game. This wiki covers how to play, the summon and rarity system, what happened to the game, tips, and a FAQ, with links to our codes, script, and tier list pages at the bottom.

How to Play Anime Adventures
- Summon units with gems. Banners rotate which units are boosted, and rarities run from Rare up to Secret.
- Pick a map and place your units. Each unit has a placement cost, a range, and an attack style.
- Upgrade during the match. Leveling a placed unit boosts its damage and range for that run.
- Clear story maps to earn gems. Wins fund your next summons, which unlock harder content.
- Evolve your best units. Evolution materials turn top units into much stronger versions.
- Team up. Matchmaking and servers of up to 30 players make the harder modes much easier.
Anime Adventures Gameplay: Summons, Units and Waves
The loop is classic anime tower defense: summon, place, defend, earn, summon again. Gems are the fuel, and story mode is the steady way to earn them, with infinite mode, portals, and raids as the harder gem farms once your team can handle them. Because banners rotate, part of the game is deciding whether to spend gems now or save for a unit worth chasing.
Rarity decides how far a unit can carry you:
| Rarity |
What It Means |
| Rare and Epic |
The common banner pulls. Fine for early story waves, replaced later |
| Legendary |
Strong pulls that carry most mid-game teams |
| Mythical |
The banner chase units, and the core of endgame teams |
| Secret |
Ultra-rare pulls with tiny odds. The flex units of the game |
Evolutions sit on top of the rarity ladder: feed a top unit the right materials and it becomes a far stronger evolved form. For which units are worth your gems and evolution grind right now, see our Anime Adventures tier list.
What Happened to Anime Adventures?
The short version: copyright trouble. In late 2023 the game shut itself down during an alleged DMCA wave that hit several big anime games. It made a huge comeback on December 25, 2024, pulling around 300,000 players at once, but the returned version had to change how its units look, and many players felt it was not quite the same game.
Activity faded through 2025, and the last event was the April Fools event in early 2025. As of July 2026 the developers have stopped putting out updates, and the player count is a tiny fraction of its peak. The game still works, the content is still there, and veterans still log in for nostalgia runs, but new banners, units, and codes are unlikely unless the developers return.
Tips for New Anime Adventures Players
- Farm story mode first. It is the most reliable gem income and unlocks everything else.
- Do not spread gems across every banner. Saving for one strong Mythical beats a pile of Epics.
- Place AoE units for the trash waves and single-target hitters for bosses. A mixed team clears the most.
- Evolve one carry unit before anything else. A single evolved Mythical carries whole story arcs.
- Check the tier list before a big grind, since evolution materials take a long time to farm.
- Play with a squad. Harder modes are tuned for teams, and 30-player servers make finding one easy.
Anime Adventures FAQ
What kind of game is Anime Adventures?
Anime Adventures is an anime tower defense gacha game on Roblox by Gomu. You summon units inspired by famous anime characters, place them to fight waves, and evolve your best ones into stronger forms.
Is Anime Adventures shut down?
No, it is still online and playable. It shut down once in late 2023 over copyright issues and returned in December 2024, but it has not received updates since early 2025, so the game is dormant rather than dead.
Will Anime Adventures come back?
Nobody knows. The developers have not announced anything, and there have been no updates since the April Fools event in 2025. If they return, our pages will pick the news up.
What are the best units?
The endgame runs on Mythical and Secret units and their evolutions. Since the meta froze with the last update, the rankings in our Anime Adventures tier list are a stable guide to who carries.
Does Anime Adventures have codes?
Old codes have mostly expired, and with the game dormant, new ones are unlikely. Our Anime Adventures Codes page tracks anything still working.
