Piano Rooms is a free Roblox game where you play a real piano. You can practice alone or join a room with up to 20 other players and jam together. It supports a MIDI keyboard and all 88 keys. It also has a free auto player that plays songs for you to watch and learn from.

Soundfonts and the Free Auto Player
A soundfont is the sound the piano makes. Piano Rooms lets you switch between several, so the same notes can sound like a grand piano, an electric one, or something softer.
The auto player is built in and free. You load a song and the game plays it on the keys while you watch. It is the easiest way to see how a hard piece is put together.
Because the auto player is already free, there is no reason to run an outside script for it. More on that on our script page.
The game also reads a real MIDI keyboard with velocity. If you have one plugged in, playing soft or hard changes the volume like a real piano.
Rooms, Levels and Trinkets
You can make your own room or join someone else’s. A room holds up to 20 players, and everyone hears everyone else play in real time.
Playing earns you experience and raises your level. Levels unlock customization options, so your piano and your spot in the room can look different over time.
Trinkets are small cosmetic items you display at your piano. You get some for free, and the game passes add more slots to show them or a specific trinket.
The Custom Room Names pass lets you name your rooms. It is the one pass that changes anything beyond looks.
The Donation System
Piano Rooms has a donation feature. You can send Robux to another player, and other players can send it to you.
It is used the way tips work at a real piano bar. Someone plays a song people like, and the room sends a little Robux their way.
The Robux is real, so treat it like real money. Only send what you are fine with giving away.

There are also two Winter Event passes from past years. They come back around the holidays and are not on sale the rest of the time.
The One Badge Is a Meta Badge
Piano Rooms has one badge, called Alpha Tester. It sits at over 2.1 million players.
It was handed out to anyone who joined the game during its early testing. You cannot earn it now, and it is not tied to any skill or task.
There is no badge for reaching a level, learning a song, or filling a room. Your progress in the game shows up as your level, not as badges.
How to Play Piano Rooms
- Join and pick a solo room first so you can learn the keys without an audience.
- Try the number and letter keys on your keyboard. Each one plays a piano note.
- Load a song in the auto player and watch it play. See which keys light up and when.
- Copy a short, slow part of that song by hand until it sticks.
- Switch soundfonts to find a piano sound you like.
- Join a public room when you are ready to play in front of other people.
Piano Rooms Gameplay
The core of the game is the keyboard. Your computer keys map to piano keys, and you play by pressing them in time.
In a room, everyone plays on the same shared space. You take turns, or two people play a duet, and the whole room hears it.
Rooms have a social side. People chat, cheer for good songs, and send donations. It plays like a small open mic night.
Solo play is quieter and better for learning. You can slow the auto player down and work through a piece one bar at a time.
