It stops and asks for a key, and its own menu offers you a paid version that skips the key. So the free route is the one that sends you off to collect something first.
What it says it does is aim for you. Silent aim, no recoil, rapid fire. In a game where the only thing that exists is your rank, that is not a shortcut, it is the whole game removed.
Why a Rank Makes This Worse Than Usual
Most games give you a few things to chase. This one gives you one. Twelve ranks, and where you sit on them is the entire scoreboard.

Look at the bottom of that list. 219 people have Deagle God. That is about 1 in every 110,000 players who ever got as far as Bronze.
A number that small only means something because it is hard. Aim for someone automatically and you have not climbed the ladder, you have just deleted the only thing the game keeps score of.
Servers hold 8 people. Every match you win with something aiming for you is a match seven other people lost for no reason.

What Helps Instead
Silver is free, so do not be fooled by it
98 in every 100 players who reach Bronze also reach Silver. The first two ranks are really one rank, so your climb has not started until you are working on Gold.
The hard part is the middle, not the top
Platinum to Diamond is the narrowest step in the whole game, and only about 16 in 100 make it. Once you are past Master, every rank after that is close to a coin flip.
Two codes are going around and they pay cash

Joining the group is a real reward and it is free
The group page says plainly that members get in-game rewards. It has 1,378,731 members, and joining costs nothing.
