Build a Rocket VS Mark Rober

Last Updated: August 2026  |  8,755,470 players reached level 1. Exactly 1,170 reached level 25.

Build a Rocket VS Mark Rober hands you a pile of blocks and asks you to build something that can survive a trip to space. You bolt it together, strap engines to the bottom, launch it, and watch which bit falls off first. Then you land somewhere strange, mine what is there, and come back to build a better one.

It was made by the science company the person in the title runs, and it keeps count of nearly everything. There are 25 levels, eleven worlds you can land on, and 57 badges recording who did what. This page has all of it, including a badge that 142 people hold and one that nobody can get at all.

How to Play Build a Rocket VS Mark Rober

There is no timer and nobody to race. You build, you launch, and you find out whether what you built works.

  1. Open the game and grab blocks. You are building a rocket out of parts, and nothing stops you making it silly.
  2. Build wide before you build tall. Most first rockets tip over because all the heavy parts went on top.
  3. Add engines at the bottom and launch. Watch what falls off, because that is the part you got wrong.
  4. Land somewhere and mine what you find there. Resources are what let you build a bigger ship next time.
  5. Save the ship once it works. There is a save slot, and over half a million players have used one.
  6. Fly to the Moon first. Far more players have landed there than anywhere else, so it is the gentlest trip.

The game also keeps a separate spot where you earn while you are away from the keyboard, and there is a badge for using it.

Build a Rocket VS Mark Rober Gameplay: All 25 Levels

Every level has its own badge and all 25 were made on the same day, so none of them had a head start on the others.

There is no badge for simply joining the game, so the level 1 badge is the closest thing to a headcount. Every share below is measured against its 8,755,470 holders, and that means players who got as far as level 1, not everyone who ever opened the game.

Level Badge name Players who reached it
Level 1 Noob 8,755,470 (100.00 in every 100)
Level 2 Builder 3,219,797 (36.77 in every 100)
Level 3 Student Driver 1,744,496 (19.92 in every 100)
Level 4 Licensed Driver 1,210,998 (13.83 in every 100)
Level 5 Recruit 863,881 (9.87 in every 100)
Level 6 Cadet 631,979 (7.22 in every 100)
Level 7 Space Technician 484,317 (5.53 in every 100)
Level 8 Adventurer 346,732 (3.96 in every 100)
Level 9 Advanced Creator 246,867 (2.82 in every 100)
Level 10 Specialist 171,378 (1.96 in every 100)
Level 11 Universe Specialist 118,478 (1.35 in every 100)
Level 12 Petty Officer 87,624 (1.00 in every 100)
Level 13 Chief Petty Officer 66,199 (0.76 in every 100)
Level 14 Sergeant 53,032 (0.61 in every 100)
Level 15 Captain 42,997 (0.49 in every 100)
Level 16 Major 32,128 (0.37 in every 100)
Level 17 Lieutenant 23,050 (0.26 in every 100)
Level 18 Colonel 16,354 (0.19 in every 100)
Level 19 Star Colonel 8,976 (0.10 in every 100)
Level 20 Master Chief 5,362 (0.06 in every 100)
Level 21 Astro General 3,298 (0.04 in every 100)
Level 22 Chief Galaxy General 2,290 (0.03 in every 100)
Level 23 Admiral 1,662 (0.02 in every 100)
Level 24 Cosmic Admiral 1,309 (0.01 in every 100)
Level 25 Galactic Emperor 1,170 (0.01 in every 100)

One oddity worth knowing. Two of those badges, Licensed Driver and Recruit, both say “You reached level 5” in their descriptions. Their counts are different and they sit either side of where level 4 should be, so one of the two labels is wrong.

Build a Rocket VS Mark Rober

The Wall Is Level 2

8,755,470 players reached level 1. Only 3,219,797 reached level 2. That is 63 in every 100 gone after a single level.

Nothing later comes anywhere near it. Every step after that loses somewhere between a quarter and a third of whoever is left.

The playtime badges say the same thing from another angle. About 21 in 100 stay fifteen minutes, 13 in 100 reach half an hour, and 7 in 100 last a full hour.

At the far end, 1,170 players have reached level 25. That is roughly one in every 7,500 who got to level 1.

Every World, and How Many People Landed There

Eleven places have a landing badge. The order below is simply how many players got there, which is also roughly how hard each one is to reach.

World Players who landed there
The Moon 2,325,521
Mars 912,259
Choco 442,264
Sprinkle 12 165,813
MarshLand 87,308
Prizeopica 53,362
Gumdrop Galactica 50,645
Twistopia 33,341
Balloonanza 22,711
JingleBellia 6,011
The South Pole Nobody. The badge is broken, see below.

The Moon is where almost everybody goes first. By the time you get out to the sweet worlds the numbers have dropped by a factor of fifty.

Four of these arrived together in December 2023 as a Christmas update, which is why two of them are named after candy and one is the South Pole.

The Badge Nobody Can Get, and the One Almost Nobody Has

The South Pole landing badge is switched on and has been for over two and a half years. It sits on zero players.

Here is why that is strange rather than just unpopular. There is a second badge for beating the game’s boss at the South Pole, and 2,436 players hold it.

You cannot beat a boss somewhere you never landed. So thousands of people have been to the South Pole and the badge for arriving there has never once fired. It is broken, plainly.

At the other end of the scale is a badge called Meet Mark, which reads “You met Mark Rober in Roblox”. It has 142 holders, or about one in every 61,658 players who reached level 1.

That one cannot be earned by trying harder. A particular real person has to be in your server, which makes it the rarest thing in the game by a very long way.

The Shop Closed Half of Itself

There are eleven passes and only five can still be bought. What got withdrawn is the interesting part.

Pass Still on sale? What it did
x2 XP Yes Doubles how fast you level up.
Amusement Pickaxe Yes A better tool for mining.
x2 Coins Yes Doubles what you earn.
Sugar Pop Pickaxe Yes Another mining tool.
VIP Yes The usual bundle of perks.
Unlimited Fuel No, withdrawn You never had to plan a fuel load.
Infinite Inventory No, withdrawn You never had to leave anything behind.
Warp to the Amusement Park No, withdrawn Dropped you at a world without flying there.
Warp to the Sugar world No, withdrawn The same, for a different world.
2x Cookies No, seasonal A Christmas item from December 2023.
Jingle Bell Rocker No, seasonal The other Christmas item.

Every pass that is gone let you skip the journey. Unlimited fuel, unlimited carrying space, and two warps that put you on a world without flying to it.

Every pass that is left simply doubles a rate. So the studio kept the things that speed you up and removed the things that let you miss the trip entirely.

That is worth knowing before you spend anything, and it is also the clearest statement anyone has made about what this game is meant to be.

The Free Items Promise Has Been Overtaken

The game page has carried a promise of free wearable items at a like milestone since the very beginning, and that target moved once.

In November 2023 it read 10,000 likes. By early December 2023 it read 75,000 likes, and it has read 75,000 ever since.

The game now has 99,381 likes, so the target was passed a long time ago. The last update landed in September 2024.

The studio’s only other game stopped a week before that one did. Both numbers are worth watching rather than counting on.

Tips for New Build a Rocket VS Mark Rober Players

  • Get past level 2 in your first sitting. That one step loses more players than every later level put together.
  • Build wide, not tall. Weight up high is why almost every first rocket tips over on the pad.
  • Save a ship that works. There is a save slot and over half a million players have used it, so you never have to rebuild from nothing.
  • Go to the Moon before anywhere else. More than twice as many players have landed there as on Mars, and it is the easiest trip in the game.
  • Do not buy your way past the flying. The passes that did that are no longer sold, and the ones left over just speed up what you are already doing.
  • Use the away spot. The game keeps a separate place for earning while you are gone, with its own badge.

About Build a Rocket VS Mark Rober

Build a Rocket VS Mark Rober was made by CrunchLabs, a company that builds a science toy kit and posts one out every month. The person in the title runs it and used to be an engineer at NASA.

That explains the shape of the game. It is a building toy first, and the space travel is what happens once your build is good enough.

It opened in August 2023 and has been visited more than 21 million times. Seven players share a server, and private servers are switched off.

About 90 in every 100 votes are likes, across nearly 110,000 of them. For a game that has been left alone for two years, that is a warm reception.
