99 Nights in the Forest Classes
“Which class should I actually save my diamonds for?”
Classes are the biggest choice you make in 99 Nights in the Forest. A class changes what you spawn with, what you are good at, and how your whole run goes. The cheapest one costs 10 diamonds and the priciest costs 600, so picking wrong hurts.
This guide lists all 36 classes with their price, their star tier, and what each one actually does. It also covers the part most players skip: how Talents work, and the real odds of pulling a good one.
New to the forest? Start with our 99 Nights survival guide for the day-by-day plan, then come back here to pick a class.
The best class depends on how you like to play. Prices are in diamonds.
The Quick Answer
Short on time? Here is what you need to know about classes:
- Best all-round fighter: Vampire at 600 diamonds. It steals health and is the top pick for stronghold runs.
- Best cheap start: Camper at just 10 diamonds.
- You cannot buy any class you want. A random set rotates in the shop every 24 hours. Rerolling the stock costs 10 diamonds, and your first roll is free.
- Classes only go to level 3, and you level them by finishing in-game goals like cutting trees or reviving teammates.
- Owning every class costs 8,565 diamonds, plus event money.
How Classes Work
You buy classes in the lobby. Head to the General Store on the left, or tap the Classes button on the side of your screen. Diamonds are the money you use. Here are the rules that trip people up.
- The shop rotates. Only a random handful of classes are for sale at a time, and the list swaps every 24 hours. If the one you want is not there, you have to wait or reroll.
- Rerolling costs 10 diamonds. Your first roll each time is free, so always use that one before you pay.
- Levels stop at 3. Every class starts at level 1. Hitting in-game goals unlocks level 2, then level 3, and each level adds a new perk.
- You can skip the grind with Robux. Jumping to level 2 costs 250 Robux, and level 3 costs 400 Robux, but only after you own level 2.
Best Class for How You Play
There is no single best class, because 99 Nights is played a few different ways. Some players race to finish fast, others try to survive all 99 nights. Here is the pick for each style.
| What You Want to Do |
Class to Buy |

Vampire is the strongest fighter in the game thanks to lifesteal, better night vision, and its scythe. If you only ever buy one expensive class, buy that one. For long survival runs, Big Game Hunter and Fire Bandit are the ones experienced players lean on.
All 36 Classes and What They Cost

Notice that price does not always mean power. Medic costs 40 and is one of the most useful classes in a team, while some 100-diamond classes only shine in certain events. Buy for your playstyle, not for the price tag.
What the Star Tiers Mean
Every class has a star rating from 1 to 6. Stars mostly show off how rare a class is, and they change the frame around your class picture. They also line up neatly with price, so you can tell what tier a class is just from what it costs.
| Star Tier |
How Many |
Cost for All of Them |
Frame You Get |
| 1 star |

10 |

| 2 star |

| 5 star |

4,700 |

| 6 star |

1,000 |

The 1-star tier has only Camper, and the 6-star tier has only Engineer, which is a limited-time class. The fire on the 5-star and 6-star frames does not show up in the lobby, only in game.
The real odds when you roll a Talent. Five-star talents are very rare.
How Talents Work
A Talent lets you take a perk from one class and bolt it onto a different class. That is how players build a class that does two jobs at once. Unlocking a Talent slot costs 25 to 100 diamonds, and rerolling it costs 25 more.
Here is the catch: you do not choose the Talent you get. It is random, and the good ones are rare. These are the real odds.
| Talent Tier |
How Many Talents |
Chance for Each One |
Chance for the Whole Tier |
| 1 star |
12 |
4.9% |
58.82% |
| 2 star |

2.2% |

| 3 star |

| 4 star |
6 |
0.44% |
2.64% |
| 5 star |
4 |
0.07% |
0.29% |
Read that bottom row carefully. A 5-star Talent has a 0.29 percent chance, which is about 1 roll in 345. Almost six rolls in ten give you a 1-star Talent instead. If you are saving diamonds, spend them on a class you want rather than rerolling Talents over and over.
Some perks can never come up as a Talent at all. Whole classes are locked out of the system, including Support, Gambler, Zookeeper, Alien, Undead, Chef, Beastmaster, Pyromaniac, Big Game Hunter and Necromancer.
How to Level a Class Up
Levels 2 and 3 are not bought with diamonds. You earn them by doing the thing your class is built for, and the counters keep going across every run. Here are the goals for some popular classes so you can see what you are signing up for.
| Class |
Level 2 Needs |
Level 3 Needs |
| Camper |
Cook 75 food and burn 200 logs |
Cook 150 food and burn 350 logs |
| Medic |
Find 30 medical supplies and revive 25 players |
Find 50 supplies and revive 40 players |
| Lumberjack |
Cut 200 trees and plant 75 saplings |
Cut 500 trees and plant 200 saplings |
| Hunter |
Kill 120 bunnies and 120 wolves |
Kill 120 alpha wolves and 250 wolves |
| Gambler |
Open 70 chests |
Open 150 chests and 10 ruby chests |
| Vampire |
Heal 450 from lifesteal and deal 5,000 damage |
Heal 1,000 and deal 15,000 damage |
The pattern is the same for every class: level 3 asks for roughly two to three times what level 2 asked for. Pick a class that matches how you already play, or the grind will feel very long.
Event Classes You Cannot Always Buy
Seven classes are tied to holidays and events. Most cost event money like candy, candy canes or eggs instead of diamonds. You can only grab them while the event is running.
| Class |
Cost |
What It Does |
| Trick or Treater |
30 candy |
You get 4 candies from every house you visit. |
| Witch |
900 candy |
Throw a potion that damages enemies or gives a random effect. |
| Santa’s Helper |
30 candy canes |
Start the run with 40 coins. |
| Gifting Elf |
900 candy canes |
Get a Red Present blueprint every 3 minutes to hand to teammates. |
| Egg Hunter |
30 eggs |
Earn extra credit every time you turn in an egg. |
| Bunny |
900 eggs |
Carrots give night vision, jump boost and speed, but you cannot eat meat. |
| Engineer |
1,000 diamonds |
Build turrets at the crafting bench using gears from the grinder. |
If an event class is in the shop and you have the currency, buy it then. Waiting usually means waiting a whole year. One class, the Decorator, was removed from the game and can no longer be bought at all.
How Many Diamonds to Own Every Class
Going for the full set is a big project. Adding up every class in the game comes to 8,565 diamonds, or 8,605 if you were around early enough to own the removed Decorator class.
On top of the diamonds you also need 930 candy, 930 candy canes and 930 eggs for the event classes. Those only show up during Halloween, Christmas and Easter, so a full collection takes at least a year of playing.
Short on diamonds? Check our 99 Nights in the Forest codes page first, since codes are the fastest free diamonds in the game.
99 Nights in the Forest Classes FAQ
What is the best class in 99 Nights in the Forest?
Vampire is the strongest class overall at 600 diamonds. It steals health with every melee hit, sees better at night, and is the top pick for stronghold runs. For long survival runs, Big Game Hunter and Fire Bandit are the favourites.
How many classes are in 99 Nights in the Forest?
There are 36 classes you can buy any time, plus 7 limited-time event classes. One more class, the Decorator, was removed from the game.
What is the cheapest class?
Camper at 10 diamonds. It slows your hunger by 10 percent and starts you with an old flashlight, which makes it a solid first buy. Scavenger is next at 25 diamonds.
Why can I not buy the class I want?
The class shop only stocks a random set at a time and it changes every 24 hours. You can reroll the stock for 10 diamonds, and your first roll is free.
How do you level up a class?
By finishing goals in game, not by paying diamonds. Each class has its own goals, like cutting 200 trees for Lumberjack or reviving 25 players for Medic. Classes stop at level 3.
What are Talents and are they worth it?
Talents let you add a perk from one class onto another for 25 to 100 diamonds. The Talent you get is random. A 5-star Talent has just a 0.29 percent chance, so most players do better saving for a new class.
How many diamonds do you need for all the classes?
8,565 diamonds for every buyable class, plus 930 candy, 930 candy canes and 930 eggs for the event ones.
