Everything in Be Fish comes back to eat, grow, and collect. You eat to grow bigger, growing fills your loot bar, and a full loot bar hands you a new fish, which then makes your whole collection stronger.

Your size number can climb all the way into the trillions, though your fish’s actual body and its food-collecting circle stop growing at 335,580 size, so past that point only the number keeps rising. The fastest way to build your collection is a strong loot bar and good luck. A higher XP Multiplier, boosted by the Fast XP pass or an XP Boost, fills your loot bar quicker, while opening chests raises your luck so better fish drop in.
You need roughly 500 luck before epic fish start showing up in your net, and around 1,700 for legendary fish, and since every chest opened raises luck a little, chests are the main thing you should spend gems on. Faster fish like the Mako Shark or Eagle Ray are also worth chasing, because speed helps you gather food quickly and escape anything bigger than you.
