Wacky Wizards

Last Updated: August 2026  |  All 34 badges, every cauldron skin, and the year this game renamed itself every single week.

Wacky Wizards is a sandbox game where you pick strange things up off the ground, drop them in a bubbling pot, and drink whatever comes out. A giraffe hoof makes you fast. A rotten sandwich does something far less pleasant. Players have written down 688 different recipes between them, and the game hands you a marker every time you find a few more.

It opened at the end of May 2021 and has passed a billion visits, which only a handful of Roblox games ever manage. This page has all 34 of its badges, every cauldron skin and what it costs, and the strangest thing we found: for sixteen months this game announced its own updates by renaming itself, and once it counted down to a live event in its own title, minute by minute.

How to Play Wacky Wizards

  1. Walk around the map and pick things up. Ingredients are lying on the ground, sitting on tables and hidden in caves.
  2. Take what you found back to your cauldron. Every player gets their own, so nobody can take yours.
  3. Drop one ingredient in and drink it. Start with one, because one ingredient is a whole recipe on its own.
  4. Watch what it does to you. That is the point of the game, and it is usually funny.
  5. Now put two things in together. Mixing is where the 688 recipes come from, and where the markers come from too.
  6. Add more of the same ingredient to make the effect stronger. The game says so itself.
  7. Keep going. Every few new potions you discover, another marker pops up.

There is no way to lose and no timer. You can stand at your pot for an hour and nothing bad will happen.

Wacky Wizards Gameplay: The Potion Ladder

This is the spine of the game. There are eighteen markers for discovering potions, running from five all the way to 250, and the first one arrived four days after the game opened. That makes the top row below a real headcount rather than a guess.

Potions discovered Players who got there
Loaded the game at all 131,187,381
5 85,823,395
10 63,443,436
15 46,470,145
20 35,573,436
30 25,201,693
40 19,539,083
50 15,263,360
60 12,025,724
70 9,601,091
80 7,761,546
90 6,351,867
100 5,271,085
125 3,386,727
150 2,237,333
175 1,502,944
200 1,025,325
225 707,147
250 506,939

Look at the first two rows. A third of everybody who has ever loaded this game never found five potions, and that single step loses more people than any other step on the list.

That is not what you would expect. Most games get harder as you climb, and lose more people the further up you go. This one does the opposite.

Of everyone who reaches five potions, about 74 in 100 go on to ten. Of everyone who reaches 90, about 83 in 100 go on to 100. The game keeps getting better at holding on to people.

So the hard part is the first ten minutes. If you stand at a pot long enough to make five different potions, the odds say you will keep going for a long time.

At the far end, 506,939 people have found 250 potions. That is about one player in every 259, and it is roughly a third of the 688 recipes players have written down.

The Day It Counted Down In Its Own Name

Here is the best thing we found about this game, and as far as we can tell nobody has written it down before.

On 30 June 2021 the developers ran a live event. Instead of putting a timer on the screen, they counted down by renaming the game. The whole Roblox page changed its name every few minutes, and a web archive happened to be taking pictures the whole time.

Time in the game’s own name When the archive caught it
LIVE EVENT 1PM PST That morning, hours ahead
LIVE EVENT 20 MINS 19:47
LIVE EVENT 15 MINS 19:49
LIVE EVENT 10 MINS 19:53
LIVE EVENT 5 MINS 19:59
LIVE EVENT NOW 20:01
BOSS 20:22

The event was set for 1pm Pacific, which is 20:00 on that clock. The picture showing NOW was taken at 20:01. They were a minute out.

Twenty minutes after that the name had changed again, to BOSS. That was the payoff, and there is a marker for it in the game today.

They did the same thing again that December for the Christmas event. The badge for finishing it was created on 22 December 2021, the exact day the name was counting down again.

Only 655,364 people hold that Christmas one. Compare that to the twenty million who have killed Mr. Rich. A live event is a thing you had to be there for.

Sixteen Months of Renaming Itself

The countdown was not a one off. For sixteen months this game shouted its newest update from its own name, and because that name is part of the web address, the whole run was recorded by accident.

There are 85 different names on record. Most of them are an ingredient, which turns the list into something no other page has: a dated calendar of when each thing arrived in the pot.

What the name said When What arrived
BEE UPDATE August 2021 The sleepy bee and honey
GUN UPDATE September 2021 The gun
ALIENS September 2021 The alien parasite
DISCO October 2021 The disco ball
JELLYBEAN UPDATE May 2022 The jellybean
TACO UPDATE June 2022 The taco
MAGIC ORB UPDATE June 2022 The magic orb
ICE CREAM UPDATE June 2022 The ice cream
HORSE UPDATE July 2022 The horse shoe
MONKEY July 2022 The monkey’s paw
PENCIL August 2022 The pencil
RANDOM August 2022 An ingredient actually called Random
RUBBER BAND September 2022 The rubber band
ACID September 2022 The acid barrel
Mushroom October 2022 The mushroom

Then it stops. The last one of these is from October 2022, and since then the game has simply been called Wacky Wizards.

Two of the 34 markers were created on 30 November 2022, right at that turn. Nothing has been added to the shop since April 2022 either, so several things point at the same few weeks.

The game itself did not stop. It was updated last month, five years after it opened, and around a thousand people are usually inside it.

The Three Badges Nobody Has

There are 34 markers in this game. Four of them have no name and no description at all, just three question marks. That is what a developer leaves behind when a badge is built for something secret.

One of those four is held by 1,229,374 people. It was made on 30 November 2022, three days before Roblox started a big competition called RB Battles, and this game was one of the games in it. You got the marker by winning an obstacle race, and it was one of twelve you needed for a set of wings.

The other three are all held by nobody at all.

One of them was made on the very same day as the competition one. Its twin went to more than a million people and it went to none. Whatever it was for was built, switched on, and then never happened.

The last two were made on 21 February 2025 and they are still switched on today. That is eighteen months of a game with a thousand people inside it at any moment, and not one of them has been given either marker.

We cannot tell you what they are for, because that is exactly what the three question marks are hiding. What we can tell you is that they are sitting there waiting, and nobody has ever set one off.

Every Quest and Event Badge

Quest or event badge Players who have it
Kill Mr. Rich 20,183,877
In Hot Water 19,238,682
Complete the Bee Quest 15,965,638
Find The Beans 11,666,254
Complete the VOLCANO event 8,534,628
Complete the Witches Vs Wizards Quest 8,187,031
Complete the Goblin Village Quest 7,765,269
Help the Witch 7,627,655
Complete The 2021 Christmas Live Event 655,364
Hermitude Mirror Mountain 330,350
Kill 200 Witches 329,875

Mr. Rich is the richest quest in the game by a long way, and killing him is the single most popular thing to do in it after simply turning up and brewing.

The bottom three rows are the rare ones, and they are rare for different reasons. Two were live events you had to attend. The third asks you to kill 200 witches, which is just a lot of witches.

Cauldron Skins and What They Cost

Gems are the game’s own money and you earn them by playing. Here is what they buy.

Cauldron skin What it costs
Default Free from the start
100k Trophy 10 gems, and it marks the day 100,000 people played at once
Tea Cup 100 gems
Pink 150 gems
Tree Stump 150 gems
Frozen 300 gems
Trash Can 400 gems
Sun 650 gems
Treasure Chest 900 gems
Barrel 900 gems
Pineapple 925 gems
Pot of Gold 1,000 gems
Egg 1,400 gems
Snake 1,800 gems

Read the second row again. The cheapest thing in the whole shop is a trophy celebrating the day 100,000 people were playing at the same moment.

That really happened, and the real number is bigger. On 18 August 2021 this game had 144,073 people inside it at once. Today it usually has around a thousand.

Six more skins cost nothing at all. Homemade turns up at level 26, Volcano comes out of the daily rewards, and one called 100M was handed out when everybody playing had brewed 100 million potions between them.

Two others went to whichever side you were on before the game passed a million kills, one for wizards and one for witches. Both closed the moment that counter ticked over.

The Games This Studio Never Released

The studio behind this has 36 places to its name. Four of them are real games, and the rest tell a story about what nearly happened.

There is a racing game called Wacky Races that has been sitting at Pre-Alpha since October 2021. Half a million people have been in it. It has not been touched since November 2022.

There is a fighting game called Wacky Battles. Four separate people on the team each had their own copy of it, all started in January 2022, and it never came out. There is a pet game from June 2022 in the same state.

And then there is Martian Monkeys. Players found a hidden board in the map years ago that read Martian Monkeys Coming Soon. There is a place called Martian Monkeys on the studio’s list, made in August 2021, and 22 people have been inside it. It was never updated again.

Of everything they did finish, the biggest after this one is a Sesame Street game, which has passed 93 million visits.

Tips for New Wacky Wizards Players

  • Put one thing in the pot before you put two in. Single ingredients are recipes, and a lot of the early markers come from them.
  • Add two of the same ingredient instead of one. The game tells you this itself and most new players never try it.
  • Go and find the bean at the volcano. It is one of the first things the game wants you to fetch and it turns up in a lot of recipes.
  • Do the quests. The bee, the goblin village and the witch are worth more than wandering, and each one hands you an ingredient you cannot get any other way.
  • Do not spend gems on the first skin you like. The cheapest one is ten gems and the dearest is 1,800, so look at the whole list first.
  • Keep playing to level 26 before you buy a cauldron at all. One turns up free at that point.
  • If you want the 250 marker, work off a recipe list rather than guessing. Guessing at 688 combinations takes a very long time.

Wacky Wizards FAQ

Are there any Wacky Wizards codes?

No, and there is no code box in the game to type one into. Our codes page shows what we found and lists the free things you can collect instead.

How many potions are there?

Players have written down 688 recipes. The game’s hardest marker only asks for 250 of them, so even the people at the very top have not seen everything.

What is the most people who have ever played it at once?

144,073, on 18 August 2021. These days it is usually around a thousand.

Why does the game have badges nobody has?

Three of the 34 are switched on with no holders. One is the twin of a competition badge from 2022 that more than a million people got. The other two were made in February 2025 and have sat untouched ever since.

Can I get a private server?

No. Private servers are switched off for this game, so everybody plays on the public ones, 28 people to a server.

Is Wacky Wizards still being updated?

Yes. The last update was July 2026, over five years after it opened. It stopped announcing updates in its own name back in October 2022, which is why it can look quieter than it is.

Do I have to pay for ingredients?

Almost never. Players have catalogued 106 ingredients and only 13 of them cost Robux. The other 93 are lying around the map.

Is there a Wacky Wizards script?

One still loads and it needs no key, though the most popular one has been dead for years. Our script page explains both.

About The Rating

About 90 in every 100 votes on this game are likes, out of 686,429 votes in total. That is a strong score and a big enough pile of votes to trust.

It has also been favorited 2,099,612 times. That is roughly three favorites for every two votes, which is normal, so nothing here is being inflated.
