Type Race is a Roblox game where you type sentences as fast as you can and race the words down a track. Up to 14 other people race the same words at the same time. It was built by haz3mn, the developer behind PLS DONATE, to push his own typing speed, and eight million people have now played it. Roblox files it under Learning and Explore, because a lot of players use it as a typing trainer.

How Fast People Actually Type
The game hands out a badge for each typing speed you reach. Line those up against the arrival badge and you get a picture of how fast Roblox players really are.

Read the top of that table first. Fewer than half of all players have ever hit 25 words per minute, which is slow, hunt-and-peck speed.
The 100 mark is where it gets serious. Only about one player in fifty has reached it. At 100 words per minute you are a fast touch typist.
The 200 badge sits at 0.23 percent, roughly one in four hundred and forty. That is competition-level speed, and almost nobody in this game has it.
One small caveat. The arrival badge was added about two months after the game opened. So these shares are measured against everyone who has played since then, not every player ever. It barely moves the picture.
Four Gamemodes, and Most People Finish One
There is more here than the plain race. The badges show how many players have completed each mode at least once.

Normal is the standard race and most people finish it. Survival cuts you out if you fall behind a moving line, and only about one player in twelve has cleared it.
Squid Game is the one to try for the badge. It borrows the red light, green light idea. You type only when the doll faces away, and just under five percent of players have finished it.
419 People Have Out-Typed the Developer
Two of the badges are about haz3mn himself. Meeting him in a server has been done 5,092 times.
Beating him in a race has been done 419 times. Against eight million players, that is about one in nineteen thousand.
He is a verified developer and also made PLS DONATE, one of the most played games on the platform. He has said he built Type Race to get his own typing speed up. That is why the whole game is a speed test with a leaderboard bolted on.
How to Play Type Race
- Join a server and pick a gamemode from the menu. Normal is the place to start.
- Wait for the round to fill. You race against everyone else in the server at once.
- Type the sentence on screen exactly, including spaces and punctuation. Your lane moves as you go.
- Do not slow down to fix a typo unless the game blocks you. Accuracy matters less than speed here.
- Watch your words-per-minute counter. That number is what the badges track.
- When you can clear Normal comfortably, move to Survival and then Squid Game for the harder badges.
Type Race Gameplay
The core loop is one sentence at a time. A line of text appears and you type it. Your block of letters slides forward, and the first player to the end of the track wins the round.
Your score is words per minute, worked out from how fast and how accurately you type. The game keeps your best, and the badges unlock at 25, 50, 75, 100 and every 25 up to 200.
Survival adds a rising line that eliminates anyone it catches, so a slow patch ends your run. Elimination knocks out the last-place player each round until one is left.
Squid Game is the red light, green light version. A doll turns to face the track, and typing while it watches you is what fails the round. You bank progress in the green windows.
There is no gear, no upgrades and no currency to grind. The only thing you can buy is a cosmetic pack, and everything else is just you and the keyboard.
Tips for New Type Race Players
- Use all your fingers. If you type with two, that is the single biggest thing holding your speed down.
- Look at the screen, not the keyboard. It feels slower at first and then it is much faster.
- Do not backspace in a race. A wrong letter costs you less time than stopping to fix it.
- Play Normal until 50 words per minute feels easy before you touch Survival.
- For the Squid Game badge, type in short bursts and stop dead the moment the doll turns.
- Ignore anyone claiming a code. This game has none, and the lists you find are for a different typing game.

Nobody in your race has an advantage you can buy. The leaderboard is purely how fast you type.

Is Type Race the same as Type Race Simulator?
No. This is haz3mn’s Type Race, a pure typing race with leaderboards. Type Race Simulator is a separate game with keys and boosts, and its codes do not work here.
Does Type Race have codes?
