Pet Simulator 99 is one of the biggest games on Roblox right now, and it’s not hard to see why. You collect pets, upgrade them, hatch eggs, and grind your way through a massive world full of coins and gems. It sounds simple, but there’s a ridiculous amount of stuff to do.
What You Actually Do in Pet Simulator 99
The core loop is pretty straightforward. You walk around breaking objects like chests and barrels, your pets automatically collect the coins and gems, and you use that currency to unlock new areas and buy better eggs. Better eggs mean rarer pets, and rarer pets mean more damage and faster grinding.
There are dozens of worlds to unlock, each with its own theme and enemies. You’ll start in basic zones and slowly push into harder areas as your pets get stronger. The game also has limited-time events pretty regularly, usually tied to holidays, which add exclusive pets and rewards you can’t get any other time.
Trading is a big part of the game too. Some pets are insanely rare and worth a lot, so a whole economy has built up around buying, selling, and swapping pets with other players. If you pull something legendary from an egg, you might be able to trade it for something even better.
The Good Stuff and the Annoying Stuff
The variety is genuinely impressive. New updates drop constantly, the pet designs are fun to collect, and hitting a new world for the first time feels rewarding. The game has that “just one more egg” pull that keeps you coming back without even realizing it.
That said, the grind gets brutal fast. Getting to the top worlds takes serious time, and a lot of the best pets are locked behind gamepasses or insane luck with egg hatching. Free-to-play players can still have fun, but you’ll feel the wall eventually. Some players also complain that the trading scene is full of scammers, so watch out if you’re new to it.
The game is still very much alive and pulling big player counts. BIG Games keeps updating it, so it’s not going anywhere soon. It’s not perfect, but for a pet collecting game it does a lot of things right.
