Frontlines is a military shooter on Roblox that actually tries to feel like a real FPS. Two teams fight over objectives across open maps, and it leans into that tactical, squad-based style more than most Roblox shooters do. If you like games like Battlefield or Call of Duty and want something in that lane on Roblox, this is probably the closest you’re going to get.
What You Actually Do in Frontlines
The main mode is team-based combat where you’re capturing and holding control points. It’s not just run and gun. Positioning matters, and the maps are big enough that you actually have to think about where you’re going.
You pick a loadout before you drop in, choosing your weapon class and gear. There are assault rifles, sniper rifles, SMGs, and more. As you play and level up, you unlock better attachments and equipment, so there’s a real progression system keeping you coming back.
The game also has vehicles on some maps, which changes things up a lot. Jumping in a tank or helicopter with your squad feels genuinely chaotic and fun. It’s one of those features that makes Frontlines feel bigger than your average Roblox shooter.
The Good, The Frustrating, and Where the Game Stands Now
The gunplay is honestly pretty solid for Roblox. The weapons feel different from each other, the maps are decent, and when a match comes together with a full server, it’s genuinely a good time. The graphics are also a step above what most free Roblox games look like.
That said, the grind to unlock stuff can feel painfully slow. You’ll spend a lot of time using basic gear while other players run around with fully kitted-out loadouts. The matchmaking can also be rough, especially if you’re solo. Getting stomped by a coordinated squad when you’re solo queuing gets old fast.
The player count has dropped off compared to its peak, so finding a full lobby can take a minute depending on when you play. The game still gets updates, but the community is smaller than it used to be. It’s not dead, but it’s not exactly popping off every day either.
