How to Play Carry an Egg
This is a two-player game, so find a partner before you start. Here is the run from start to finish.
- Load in with a partner and pick who is the egg and who is the carrier.
- The carrier picks up the tray with the egg sitting in it.
- Move through the obstacles carefully. Dropping the tray sends the egg back to the last checkpoint.
- Clear each zone to earn its badge, from the Tutorial through Desert, Magma, Frost, the Unknown and finally the Castle.
- Keep an eye out off the main path for hidden Easter eggs as you go.
- Reach the Castle and you have finished the whole course. Swap roles and go again if you want the other side’s badge feel.
There is no working script for this game, and that is actually fine. The carrier role needs a real second player to be worth anything, and the egg role has almost nothing to automate anyway.
Carry an Egg Gameplay
Every run is built around trust. The carrier controls the movement, and the egg is along for the ride, unable to do much if things go wrong. Twelve players share a server at once. It usually plays out as several egg-and-carrier pairs running the course side by side rather than one pair at a time.
A free troll menu lets you respawn, smite or slip your own partner mid-run if you both want the chaos. It is built into the game, so nothing outside it is needed to use it.
How Far People Actually Get
Roblox counts exactly how many players hold each zone badge, and that gives a clear picture of where most runs end.
| Zone |
Players Who Reached It |
| Tutorial (Welcome badge) |
176,108,291 |
| Desert |
3,855,422 |
| Magma |
744,813 |
| Frost |
198,855 |
| The Unknown |
112,373 |
| The Castle (the end) |
94,231 |
Look at the size of that first drop. Over 176 million players picked up the tutorial badge, but fewer than 4 million ever reached the Desert zone after it. That is a drop of more than 45 times. Almost everyone who quits, quits at the very first real checkpoint. After Frost, the numbers barely move, so clearing that zone is a real sign you are close to finishing.
Only 94,231 players hold the final Castle badge. That works out to about 1 finisher for every 1,869 players who ever started.
The Hidden Easter Eggs
Three more badges exist for finding hidden eggs scattered around the course, all added on the same day as an Easter event.
| Easter Egg |
Players Who Found It |
| Classic Easter Egg |
2,164,126 |
| Red Easter Egg |
11,460 |
| Terracotta Easter Egg |
1,337 |
The Terracotta egg is the rarest badge in the whole game. Only 1,337 players out of more than 176 million have it, about 1 in every 131,700. If you are hunting badges, that is the one worth bragging about.
Cosmetics: Free Badges vs Paid Gamepasses
Tray and egg designs come from two places. Clearing zone badges unlocks some for free as you play. The rest are gamepasses bought outright with Robux.
Twenty five cosmetic gamepasses have gone on sale over this game’s life, and only ten are still for sale today. Fifteen have already been pulled, well over half of everything ever released. Some disappeared fast. Two Limited-tagged items launched in early November 2024 and were retired exactly one month later. A December 2024 holiday batch of four items was pulled together in one day the following January. Five more, unrelated to any season, all flipped off sale on the exact same day in August 2025.
See our Carry an Egg codes page for the current lineup still for sale and the exact retirement dates.
Who Makes Carry an Egg
Carry an Egg comes from Skeptic Softworks, a Roblox group with the blue verified tick and over 3.8 million members. The same studio also makes Maldives Resorts and Ultimate Dodgeball. It launched in August 2024 and has already passed 555 million visits.
Tips for New Carry an Egg Players
- Trade off who is the egg and who is the carrier after every attempt. Carrying is the harder job, and it keeps both players sharp.
- Expect to fall at the Desert zone the first few times. That is where almost everyone drops off, so do not get discouraged there.
- Once you can clear Frost consistently, keep pushing. The Unknown and the Castle are much closer together than the earlier zones.
- Look off the main path for hidden eggs as you go. The Terracotta one is the rarest badge in the whole game.
- Use the troll menu on your partner between runs, not mid-course, unless you both agree to it. Respawn, smite and slip are all built in for free.
- Do not expect a promo code to speed anything up. There are none active right now, so cosmetics come from badges or Robux only.
- If you want one of the current gamepass designs, buy it sooner rather than later. History here shows designs get retired, some within weeks.
