Banana Eats is one of those games that sounds completely ridiculous and somehow ends up being genuinely fun. You’re being chased by a giant banana. That’s basically the whole pitch. It’s a horror-style chase game where one player becomes the Banana and hunts everyone else down before time runs out.
How Banana Eats Actually Works
Each round, one player gets picked to be the Banana. Everyone else spawns into a map and has to survive until the timer runs out. The Banana is fast, the maps are full of twists and hiding spots, and it gets chaotic pretty quickly.
Survivors aren’t just running blind either. There are coins scattered around the map that you can grab while you dodge the Banana. Those coins let you buy stuff between rounds, like new skins and cosmetics. It gives you something to do other than just sprint in circles screaming.
Being the Banana is where it gets interesting. You move faster than the survivors, and you have to tag players to eliminate them. If you wipe everyone out before the clock hits zero, you win the round. If even one person survives, they get the W. The pressure on both sides makes rounds feel tense even when they’re short.
What’s Good and What’s Not
The game is genuinely fun in short bursts, especially with friends. Playing as the Banana and hunting people down is oddly satisfying, and surviving by a second when the Banana nearly catches you is a great rush. The maps have enough variety to keep things from feeling stale too fast.
The frustrating part is that the game has slowed down a lot. Servers don’t always fill up fast, and the updates have been pretty quiet lately. The coin grind for cosmetics can also feel slow if you’re not playing constantly, especially since some of the better skins are locked behind bigger price tags.
It’s not a dead game, but it’s not exactly popping off either. If you jump in during peak hours you’ll find full lobbies and it’s a blast. Off-peak it can be hit or miss. Worth trying for sure, just don’t expect it to be your new main game.
