Baboon Tag X is playground tag with baboons. Up to 21 of you run, jump and climb across ten maps, and whoever gets tagged turns into the Lava Baboon and has to chase somebody else down before the clock runs out. You earn coins for playing, for tagging and for surviving, and they buy cosmetics.

The coin pack is worth a closer look, because it is the flattest currency we have come across. Twenty five coins for twenty five Robux is one coin per Robux, and there is no second size.
That means there is never a bigger pack worth saving up for. If you wanted a thousand coins you would buy that same small pack forty times over, for a thousand Robux. Most games give you a discount for going big. This one has nothing to discount.
Only one purchase changes a round
The banana is the only thing in the shop that touches the game itself. It drops a peel that slips other players, which in a game about catching people means it makes them easier to catch. Everything else is a chat tag and some coins.
Baboon Tag X Gameplay: What Being Tagged Actually Does
The game tracks who is it by putting something onto your character. A menu written to play this game for somebody reads exactly that, checking your character for a marker called Tag, one called Lava and one called Infected before it decides whether you are the chaser.
That is a small thing but it confirms how the game works under the surface. Being tagged is not a score somewhere, it is a marker attached to you, and losing it means passing it to somebody else.
It also explains why the rounds feel the way they do. There is no health, no respawn penalty and nothing to lose except the marker. A round holds 21 people, and with around 2,000 playing that is at least 98 rounds going at once.
The Studio Says the Game Is Not Finished
At the bottom of the game’s description, in square brackets, the studio says the game is still in testing while bugs get fixed, and that it will be released to beta once it is 50 per cent complete.
Read the rest of this page with that in mind and it all lines up. Three things in the shop. No badges. The coin pack untouched since November last year. No code menu. None of that is neglect, it is a game that has not been built out yet.
It also matches how players rate it. Ninety three in every hundred votes are positive, which is good but the lowest of any game we have looked at recently, and the studio is the one telling you there are bugs.

The last row is the one to notice. That game still has the word testing sitting in its actual title, it has no description at all, and when we looked there was nobody in it. It has been that way since the start of 2025.
That is not a prediction about this game. It is just worth knowing that this studio has left a game in testing before, if you are waiting on the beta that was promised.

Tips for New Baboon Tag X Players
- Keep moving even when nobody is chasing you. The maps are built for climbing and standing still is how you get caught.
- Coins come from surviving as well as tagging, so running away is worth money too.
- Do not go looking for codes. There is no code box in the game, and the studio has not built one.
- The only purchase that changes a round is the banana, and it costs 130 Robux. Everything else is looks.
