8-Ball Pool Classic

Last Updated: August 2026  |  Three names, a newer version being built next door, and how the cues really unlock.

8-Ball Pool Classic is pool, played against one other person. You break, and whoever pots first takes that set. The winner is whoever clears their seven and then sinks the black. A short guide line off the cue is the only help you get.

It opened in August 2020, which makes it one of the oldest games we cover, and it has passed 73 million visits. This page has the three names it has carried and how the cues unlock. It also has the newer pool game next door, and what the rating is telling you.

How to Play 8-Ball Pool Classic

If you have played pool anywhere else, you already know this game. The one thing worth learning is what the guide line does and does not tell you.

  1. Claim the codes first. They pay in tokens and tokens buy cues, so it is the cheapest start you will get.
  2. Join a table. A server holds thirty people but a match is you against one other player.
  3. Break, and see which set you are on. Whoever pots first takes that set for the rest of the game.
  4. Line up using the guide. The game draws a short line off your cue showing roughly where the ball goes.
  5. Think about where the white stops, not just what you are potting. That is the difference between one shot and a run of them.
  6. Clear your whole set, then take the black. Potting the black early loses you the match.
  7. Win to unlock cues, or buy them with tokens if you would rather not wait.

Step five is where most players stop thinking. The guide shows where your ball is heading, not where the white ends up, and the white is what decides your next shot.

8-Ball Pool Classic Gameplay: Cues, Tokens and the Only Pass

The cues are the whole collection in this game, and the page says plainly how you get them. You either win matches or you buy them in the store.

Tokens are the store currency, so they are the shortcut round the winning half. That is why the codes here matter more than in most games.

There is exactly one thing on sale, a pass that multiplies your tokens by a hundred for 499 Robux. An older pass called Tip existed from launch day in 2020 and has been switched off since.

Three codes are known and one of them is confirmed live. Our 8-Ball Pool Classic codes page has all three with copy buttons, and an honest note about which numbers are disputed.

The game has no badges at all, which is unusual for something this old and this large. There is nothing to collect except the cues themselves.

8-Ball Pool Classic Wiki

It Has Been Called Three Different Things

What the game was called When What it tells you
Pool Online From January 2021 The original name, and it stuck for a year
8-Ball Pool Online From January 2022 The long-running one. Most of its life was spent under this name
8-Ball Pool Classic From 7 April 2025 to now Renamed seven weeks after the studio opened a newer pool game

Saved copies of the game page go back to January 2021, when it was simply Pool Online. It picked up the eight ball part of the name a year later.

The word classic only arrived in April 2025, more than four years in. That is the interesting one, because a game does not usually call itself classic on its own.

One of the game’s own pictures still has the old logo on it, reading Pool Online in full. It is sitting on the game page today.

The page has carried sale tags over the years too. There was a half price one at the end of 2021 and a hundred times tokens one in March 2025, plus Easter events several years running.

There Is a Newer Pool Game Next Door

The studio’s games Visits
8-Ball Pool Classic, opened August 2020 73,566,568
Lucky Blocks Battle Towers, April 2021 2,314,078
8-Ball Pool Alpha, February 2025 417,737
A testing version from October 2023 2,019
A second testing version from June 2025 178

The dates explain the rename. The studio opened a new pool game in February 2025, and this one became the classic seven weeks later in April.

The studio’s own page names both of them, describing itself as responsible for the alpha and the classic. So the word is doing a job rather than being decoration.

The newer one has passed 417,000 visits, which is a fraction of this one. There are also two testing rooms sitting in the list, one from 2023 with about two thousand visits and one from 2025 with 178.

So a studio is rebuilding its biggest game in public while the original keeps running. Worth knowing if you wonder why this one is quieter now.

The Rating Is the Lowest We Have Written Up

About 77 in every 100 votes here are likes, from 78,389 votes. That is a lot of votes, and it is the lowest share of any game we have covered recently.

It is worth putting next to what the game is. Pool is one against one, so half of everyone who finishes a match has just lost one.

There is a second thing in the mix. More aiming line menus are written for this game than almost anything we cover, and running into one is a bad afternoon.

Our 8-Ball Pool Classic script page goes through what those do. The two most popular turn out to be the same twenty lines of code.

We are not going to claim either of those explains the rating on its own. Both are worth knowing when you compare this game against a game you play alone.

Tips for New 8-Ball Pool Classic Players

  1. Claim the codes before your first match. They pay in tokens and tokens buy cues.
  2. Watch where the white stops, not just what you are potting. That is the single biggest jump in skill available to you.
  3. Take the simple pot that leaves you another one, rather than the clever pot that leaves you nothing.
  4. Learn a few cushion angles. The guide line does not help round a rail, so that is where practice actually pays.
  5. Play a safety when nothing is on. Leaving your opponent stuck is a real move and hardly anybody uses it.
  6. Do not pot the black early. It ends the match and not in your favour.

8-Ball Pool Classic FAQ

Why is it called classic?

Because the same studio opened a newer pool game in February 2025. This one was renamed seven weeks later, and its own studio page names both.

What was it called before?

Pool Online from 2021, then 8-Ball Pool Online from 2022. One of its own pictures still carries the old logo.

How do I get new cues?

Win matches, or buy them with tokens in the store. Those are the only two routes the game gives you.

Are there any codes?

Yes, three are known and one is confirmed live. Our 8-Ball Pool Classic codes page has them with copy buttons.

Is there a script for it?

Plenty exist and we publish none of them. Our 8-Ball Pool Classic script page explains why an aiming line is different from a shortcut.

Are there badges to collect?

None at all. This game has never made one, which is rare for something six years old.

What does the only gamepass do?

It multiplies your tokens by a hundred and costs 499 Robux. It is the only thing this game sells.

How long is a match?

About eleven and a half minutes on average, which is long for a Roblox game.

About the Studio

Jelly Cube is a verified Roblox group with 216,900 members. Its page describes it as a game development studio and names its two pool games directly.

This game’s own page credits four people by name, covering the creative direction, the programming and the interface design. That is more openness than most games bother with.

If you like games where you play against a real person, we cover a few: Soccer Arena, Eat Same Color Food Challenge and Block Puzzle.
