Every chest gives you a set number of pulls. Each pull picks one block from a list, and the odds below are for each block on its own. So when a list shows “17%” next to four blocks, each of those four has that chance.
A full run to the treasure pays 105 gold. That means a Legendary Chest takes about 4 runs to pay for, or about 2 with the Gold Multiplier pass.

The Common Chest is the cheapest one. You get 1 building block and 1 decoration. It is the only chest that drops Wood, Fabric and Stone Blocks. The Seat is the most likely decoration at 40%.

This chest is fun to open, but it is not a good deal. Its blocks are worth less in the shop than the 5 gold you pay.

The Uncommon Chest gives 4 building blocks and 1 decoration. Rusted Blocks are the most common pull at 35%. Metal Blocks come next at 25%.

The Rare Chest is the cheapest chest that gives an ability block. Its one ability pull can land a Cannon, Switch, Piston, Balloon Block, Glue or Hinge.
It is also the only chest with Ice, Marble and Sand Blocks. You get 12 building blocks from it, and about 4.2 of them are Concrete.

The Legendary Chest is the best chest in the game. It gives 120 building blocks. On average that is 48 Brick, 42 Titanium and 30 Obsidian Blocks.
It is the only chest that drops Harpoons. Each of its 4 ability pulls has an 11% chance, so about 37.3% of Legendary Chests give you one. Its 8 decoration pulls split evenly between the Locked Door, Throne, Lamp and Sign.

The bigger the chest, the better the deal. A Legendary Chest gives back 3.2 times its price. A Common Chest gives back less than it costs.
Want lots of one block? Use the shop. Titanium Blocks cost 400 gold for 50 in the shop, which is 8 gold each. If Titanium was all you wanted from Legendary Chests, it would work out to about 9.6 gold each. Chests win when you want a big mix.
Blocks the shop only sells some days
Part of the shop changes every day and only shows 3 blocks at a time. These 24 blocks can only be bought on days they show up. Chests drop all of them, any day. The table shows the best chest for each one.

Thrusters and Harpoons
The Thruster is never sold in the shop. You get it from Epic and Legendary Chests. The Target quest also gives you 2 Thrusters the first time you finish it.
Harpoons are sold in the shop for 200 gold each. From chests, only the Legendary Chest has them. So if you want Harpoons, the shop is the sure way to get them.
Can you still get Chest Blocks?
No. Each chest used to have a tiny chance to drop a Chest Block of its own color. All 5 were taken out of the chests in June 2026. You may still see older pages say they drop, but they don’t anymore.

If you already own one, you keep it. You just can’t get new ones from chests.
The Winter Chest
The Winter Chest was only sold at Christmas in 2020 and 2021. It cost 50 gold the first year and 60 gold the second. It had a 0.5% chance to drop a Dual Candy Cane Harpoon. It has not come back since.
Chests in some countries
Some countries don’t allow random prizes you pay for. Players there get a set list from each chest instead of random pulls. Here is what each one gives there.
- Common Chest: 2 blocks every time, including 1 Wood Rod and 1 Wood Block.
- Uncommon Chest: 6 blocks every time, including 2 Rusted Blocks, 2 Metal Blocks and 1 Truss.
- Rare Chest: 15 blocks every time, including 5 Marble Blocks, 5 Concrete Blocks and 2 Torches.
- Epic Chest: 46 blocks every time, including 15 Titanium Blocks, 15 Concrete Blocks and 8 Windows.
- Legendary Chest: 153 blocks every time, including 50 Titanium Blocks, 50 Obsidian Blocks and 25 Glass Blocks.
How to get gold for chests
Gold comes from sailing. You get 8 gold for each stage you pass and 25 for reaching the treasure. A full run pays 105 gold. The Gold Multiplier pass costs 500 Robux and makes that 210.
You can also buy gold with Robux. Bigger packs give a little more gold for each Robux.
