Last Updated: September 2026 | The roll, the waves, the six-player servers and what the shop is really selling.
Build a base RNG is a tower defense game where you roll a dice for a weapon instead of picking one. Whatever comes out, you plant on your patch of grass and point at the enemies walking in. Each wave is bigger than the one before it, so the catapult that saw off wave one will not hold wave thirty. It opened at the end of May 2026 and has passed 60 million visits.
The unusual part is how few people are in there with you. A server holds six, which is tiny for a game this busy. The game also says on its own page that your base carries on fighting after you have logged off.

How to Play Build a base RNG
The loop is short and it does not change much. You roll, you place, you watch, and then you roll again.
- Press the roll button. A dice turns over and you get a weapon out of it.
- Drop that weapon on the marked pad on your grass. It starts firing on its own.
- Let the wave walk in. Your weapons deal with it while you stand back.
- Collect the Hero Coins the wave leaves behind. Coins are what pay for the next roll.
- Roll again and keep the better weapon. A bad roll costs you nothing but the coins.
- Fill your grass up as the waves get heavier, then start replacing the weakest ones.
- Take the teleport to the lava world when you want different weapons and different enemies.
Build a base RNG Gameplay
The dice is what makes this different from most tower defense games. You do not choose a weapon and save up for it. You pay for a roll and take what you are given.
That turns the whole game into a coin question. Every coin you own is another go on the dice, and the only way to get a better base is to keep rolling until something good falls out.
The waves are the pressure. They arrive one after another and each one is harder, so a base that was fine ten minutes ago starts leaking enemies.
There is a second map as well. The lava world is reached by teleport and the game says it has its own weapons and its own enemies, so it is not the same fight with a red sky.
Your base does not stop when you do
The game’s own page says your base keeps fighting while you are offline. That makes logging off part of how you earn, rather than a break from it.
The Shop Is Selling the Dice, Not the Defense
Seven passes have been built for this game. Six of them are on sale and together they come to 2,547 Robux.
Look at what they do and they nearly all point the same way. Not one of them makes your weapons hit harder or your base tougher.
| What it does |
Which passes |
Robux |
| Roll more often |
Extra Roll! and Fast Rolls! |
699 and 199 |

330 and 640 |

2x Boss Drops! |
480 |

VIP! |

Four of the six are about the roll itself, either giving you more of them or changing what comes out. A fifth doubles what you get from a boss.
That tells you what the studio thinks the hard part is. Nobody is stuck because their turret is weak. They are stuck because the dice has not been kind.
The Shop Names Give Away Things the Game Page Never Mentions
Two of those passes are called Shiny Hunter and Galaxy Hunter. Neither word turns up anywhere on the game’s own page, and the passes themselves carry no description.
You can still work out what they mean. A studio does not charge 330 Robux to help you hunt something that is not in its game.
So there are shiny weapons and there are galaxy weapons, and the shop is the only place that says so out loud. The same goes for the boss pass, which is proof there are bosses.
The prices even rank them for you. Galaxy Hunter is 640 and Shiny Hunter is 330, so the studio is charging almost twice as much to chase the galaxy ones.
A price is evidence
You cannot be charged for something that does not exist. When a shop sells a hunter, the thing being hunted is in the game somewhere.

One Pass Was Built and Never Switched On
Reading the shop in the order the passes were made, rather than by what they cost, turns up something the price list hides.

There are two VIPs. One was made on 29 July, never had a price put on it, and has never been for sale. The other was made five days later, is called VIP with an exclamation mark, and costs 199.
That reads like a first attempt that got shelved and rebuilt. Sorted by price the two sit at opposite ends of the list and you would never spot them as a pair.
The order also shows the shop arriving in two batches, three passes in early July and three more in early August. The dearest one, Extra Roll at 699, is in the later batch.
Six People to a Server, and Hundreds of Servers
A server here holds six players. For a game pulling these numbers that is a very small room, and it is a deliberate choice by the studio.
Do the arithmetic and it gets easier to picture. With roughly 4,600 people in the game at once and only six to a room, there are more than 750 separate copies of this game running side by side.
It suits the game. Your base is yours, the waves come at you, and five other people is company rather than a crowd.
It also means you will not have to queue. There is always another room with space in it.
There Is No Badge List to Chase
Most Roblox games hand out badges. They are the public record of what a player has managed, and they usually mark the first wave, the first boss and the big milestones.
This game has none. Not a single one has ever been made for it, so there is nothing on your profile to show for any of it.
For a player that cuts both ways. There is no checklist pulling you along, but there is also nothing you can permanently miss by starting late.
The wave you are on is the only score the game keeps in front of you, and it resets with the run.

Those two vote figures work out at 98.5 in every 100 being positive, which is one thumbs down for every 66 up.
The favorite count is the one worth a second look. More than twice as many people saved the game as voted on it, which is a sign they mean to come back rather than just passing through.
Tips for New Build a base RNG Players
- Type the three codes before you do anything else. They pay Hero Coins and coins are rolls.
- Do not save your coins up. A roll you did not take is a weapon you do not have.
- Keep rolling even when your grass is full. Swapping out your weakest weapon is how a base improves.
- Spread your weapons along the path rather than bunching them at the end. Enemies get hit for longer that way.
- Log off with your base standing. It carries on fighting without you, so leaving it in one piece matters.
- Go and look at the lava world once you are comfortable. Different weapons come out of the dice over there.
- If you are going to buy one thing, look at the roll passes first. Nothing in the shop makes your weapons stronger.
Build a base RNG FAQ
Does Build a base RNG have codes?
Yes, three of them, and all three work. They pay Hero Coins and a jackpot spin. Nothing has ever been moved to the expired list, so there is no rush on them.
What are Hero Coins for?
Rolling. Coins come off the waves you clear and go straight back into the dice, which is the only way to get better weapons.
Is Build a base RNG free to play?
Yes. The game costs nothing to start and there are six passes you can buy if you want to, adding up to 2,547 Robux for all of them.
How many people can play together?
Six to a server. It is one of the smallest player counts you will find on a game this size, so you will always be in a small room.
Does my base really keep fighting when I log off?
The game says so on its own page. That is the studio’s own wording, and it is one of the first things the description tells you.
Are there badges to collect?
No. This game has never had a single one made for it, so there is nothing to add to your profile no matter how far you get.
What is the lava world?
A second map you reach by teleport. The game says it has its own weapons and its own enemies rather than being the same waves painted red.
