Land or Die

Last Updated: September 2026  |  The jobs on the plane, where you can land, and the one badge nobody has ever earned.

Land or Die is a plane survival game where the pilot passes out in mid air. The rest of you have to fly the aircraft and get it on the ground. Servers hold 35 people, so there are plenty of hands and plenty of panic. It opened in December 2025 and has passed 180 million visits.

The game keeps a very full record of what goes wrong up there. It has 61 badges, and between them they cover every fire, every failure and every landing. One of those badges has never been handed to anybody at all.

How to Play Land or Die

The plane is going down and nobody in the cockpit is awake. Everything after that is you and 34 other people trying to fix it.

  1. Load in and find your seat. The game drops you into a plane that is already in trouble.
  2. Get the passengers buckled in and calm. Panic is a thing the game tracks, and the studio lists it as one of your jobs.
  3. Put an oxygen mask on before you help anybody else. That is the order the game rewards.
  4. Split the work up. Somebody flies, somebody fights the fires, somebody fixes what has broken.
  5. Buy what you need from the Supply Shop. It is where the tools come from.
  6. Get the plane on the ground. Press V to change camera view while you line it up.

Most flights do not end well. Only about one flight in four ends with anybody earning the landing badge.

Land or Die Gameplay

There is no list of jobs on the game page, but the badge list is one whether the studio meant it that way or not. Each job on the plane has a badge attached to it.

The job What it means The badge for it
Buckle up Get the passengers strapped in Buckle Up!
Put the mask on Yours first, then help everybody else Wear Your Mask First
Fix what breaks Systems fail and somebody has to mend them I Can Fix It!
Clean up the mess The bathroom is a job all of its own What a Mess…
Refuel Top the plane up so it reaches the ground Fill ‘er Up!
Put out the fires Engines catch and so do cabins Extinguished
Keep the lights on Power goes down and needs bringing back Let There Be Light!
Land it The only job that actually ends the flight You Landed!

That is the whole shift in one table. Strap people in, breathe, mend, clean, refuel, put fires out, keep the lights on, land.

The bathroom really is its own job with its own badge. It is not a joke section of the game.

A badge list is a job list

When a game does not spell out what you are meant to do, look at what it hands out awards for. A studio only builds a badge for something it expects people to spend time on.

One Badge Has Never Been Earned by Anybody

There is a badge here called Close Call. It asks you to be flying the plane and avoid a head-on crash with another aircraft.

It was built in January and it is switched on. Nobody has ever got it. The count is zero.

That number is worth pausing on, because this game does hand out very rare badges. Landing a hundred flights has been done by about three thousand people. One of the mastery badges has been earned 34 times.

So the list can count to 34. It has just never counted to one for this badge, in eight months, across more than 27 million players. Either the moment it wants almost never happens, or the badge is not firing.

We cannot tell you which from the outside. What we can tell you is not to go chasing it, because so far nobody has managed it.

What Actually Happens on the Plane

The badge counts show what a flight really looks like. The numbers below count players since mid January, which is when the arrival badge was built. That is the honest yardstick, and it is a bit later than the game’s own opening day.

What happened How many players Share of them
Loaded in at all 27,706,949 Everybody
Crashed the plane 25,192,019 91 in every 100
Passed out 18,080,923 65 in every 100
Caught fire 14,179,460 51 in every 100
Had both engines burning 10,201,355 37 in every 100
Landed the plane 6,307,760 23 in every 100
Landed it perfectly 2,111,753 8 in every 100
Got the hero badge 1,799,657 6 in every 100
Made ace pilot 822,285 3 in every 100
Walked away as the only survivor 317,530 1 in every 100
Landed 100 flights 3,048 1 in every 9,000

Nine in ten players have crashed the plane. Two in ten have ever landed one. That gap is the whole game.

Half of everybody has been on fire at some point. Just over a third have had both engines burning at once.

Landing a hundred flights puts you in roughly one player in nine thousand. It is the rarest thing on the list that people have actually done.

The Mastery Badges Run Backwards

There are three mastery badges. You would expect the rare one to be common, the epic one rarer, and the legendary one rarest of all.

It is the other way round. Legendary has been earned 1,138 times. Rare has been earned 265 times. Epic has been earned 34 times.

So the legendary one is four times more common than the rare one, and more than thirty times more common than the epic one.

All three were built on the same day in March. Whatever each one asks for, the names are not a guide to how hard they are.

Everywhere You Can Land

Eight places have a discovery badge of their own. The dates tell you when each one was added to the game.

Where Added Players who have found it
BCN Airport 10 July 2026 5,443,181
Tranquil Tropics 10 July 2026 2,795,844
Area 51 10 July 2026 1,585,430
Snow Caps 18 July 2026 4,267,441
Badlands 18 July 2026 88,184
U.A.M.F. Military Base 2 September 2026 189,781
Aircraft Carrier 2 September 2026 13,183
Forbidden Fortress 2 September 2026 11,937

The three at the bottom went in at the start of September and are still filling up. About three quarters of the people holding each of those badges got it in a single day.

So if you have not seen the military base, the carrier or the fortress yet, that is why. They are new.

The older stops are much easier to run into. More than five million players have found the airport.

What the Shop Sells

There are 14 passes attached to this game and 11 of them are for sale. Buying all 11 would cost 3,489 Robux.

Pass Robux
Forever Ray Gun 679
Landing Auto Refuel 649
VIP Passenger 499
MORE INVENTORY 389
2x Miles 389
Forever Fire Axe 329
More Health 129
More Stamina 129
More Oxygen 119
Bigger Lobby 99
Boombox 79

Three more exist but are not on sale, called Elite Passenger Pack, Instant Delivery and Less Passenger Stress. They were built and then left closed.

Every pass in the game was changed in August, so the shop was reworked as a whole rather than a piece at a time.

Tips for New Land or Die Players

  • Do the small jobs first. Buckling passengers in and putting your mask on are quick, and both have badges waiting.
  • Say what you are doing. With 35 people aboard, two players fixing the same thing is two players wasted.
  • Learn the fire drill early. Half of all players have been set alight, so it will happen to you.
  • Refuelling matters more than it sounds. There is a whole pass built around doing it for you.
  • Redeem the codes before you buy anything. They hand over 7,600 Miles between them.
  • The game warns on its own page that it uses flashing lights and fast camera moves. Sit that one out if bright flashes affect you.

Land or Die FAQ

Is Land or Die free to play?

Yes. The game costs nothing to join. There are 11 passes on sale inside it if you want them, but none of them is needed to fly or to land.

What is Miles used for?

Miles is the money in this game. You earn it by flying and you spend it inside the game. All eight working codes pay you in it.

How many people can be on one plane?

Servers hold 35. That is a large crowd for a game where everybody has a job to do, and it is why splitting the work up matters.

Is it hard to land the plane?

Harder than most people expect. Around nine in ten players have crashed at least once, and only about two in ten have ever landed one.

Does Land or Die have codes?

Yes, eight of them work right now and they are worth 7,600 Miles together. Our Land or Die codes page lists all of them with the rewards.

Why does one badge have nobody holding it?

The Close Call badge asks you to avoid a head-on crash while flying. It has been switched on since January and has never been awarded, so it is either almost impossible or it is not working.

Is the game finished?

No. The studio still marks it as beta on its own page, and new places were added as recently as the start of September.
