What Sudoku Is

Sudoku is a number puzzle on a 9 by 9 grid. The grid is split into nine smaller 3 by 3 boxes.

The rule is one line long. Every row, every column, and every 3 by 3 box has to hold the numbers 1 to 9, with no number repeated.

The game starts you with some numbers already placed. Your job is to work out the rest using only logic. No guessing is needed for a proper puzzle.

Project Sudoku makes a new grid each time, so you are never solving the same one twice.

The Tools You Get

The game gives you the same tools a paper Sudoku player would want, plus a few that only work on a screen.

It Has No Monetization at All

Project Sudoku is unusual for a game with 6 million visits. It has no game passes, no codes, no cosmetics and no ads. You cannot spend Robux on it anywhere.

The developer has gone further than that. The game’s description says it is not for sale and there are no shares or investments in it, thanking people for their offers.

That means someone has tried to buy the game or invest in it. A stock simulator on Roblox was bought that way a couple of years back. The developer said no.

For a player, it means the game stays simple. You open it, you get a puzzle, and nothing is trying to sell you anything.

The Wins Leaderboard

The one number the game tracks is your wins, meaning grids you have finished correctly. It has a leaderboard.

Nothing is tied to that number. There is no badge for a hundred wins and no reward for topping the board. It is just a count.

How to Play Project Sudoku

Join and look at the grid. The numbers already there are your starting clues.
Find a row, column or box that is nearly full. Work out which number is missing.
Tap that square, then tap the number on the pad to place it.
Switch to Note mode for the harder squares. Pencil in every number that could go there.
As you place real numbers, cross the matching notes off the other squares.
Keep going until the grid is full. The game tells you if you got it right.

Every session is one puzzle. You solve it at your own pace, and there is no timer forcing you.

Servers hold up to 30 players, but everyone has their own grid. You are not competing in real time. It is a quiet game you play next to other people.

The difficulty comes from the starting grid. Fewer clues means a harder puzzle, and the game mixes them up.

When you finish a correct grid your win count goes up and a new puzzle loads. That loop is the whole game.

The developer keeps a changelog inside the game and asks for bug reports through a feedback menu, so it is still being worked on.

Tips for New Project Sudoku Players

Start with the fullest rows, columns and boxes. A box with eight numbers has one easy answer.
Learn Note mode early. Pencilling in options is how you crack the hard squares.
Never guess. Every square has one answer you can reason out.
If a number can only go in one square of a box, place it, even if that square had other notes.
Take a break on a hard grid. Fresh eyes spot a move you missed.
Use Reset if you make a mess. You get the same grid back to try again.
