Last Updated: August 2026 | Shop, spinoff and player numbers checked against the live game.
Would You Rather But It Happens puts two doors in front of you with a question above them. Be way too tall, or be too short. You walk through one, and the thing you picked happens to you right there in front of everybody else. Then the next pair of doors appears and you do it again.
This page covers how a round works, the five free spinoffs the same studio built in a single week, what the shop sells and why one pass is most of its price, and the like target the developer has promised new doors for.

How to Play Would You Rather But It Happens
- Read both doors before you move. The wording is the only clue you get about what is coming.
- Pick one and walk through. There is no way to skip a round or sit one out.
- Expect it to happen immediately. Whatever the door said, that is what you become or what lands on you.
- Watch what happens to the other seven players. Their choice plays out too, and that is half the fun.
- Ride out the bad ones. Most effects wear off on their own before the next question.
- Play a few rounds in a row. A round takes about seven minutes and the doors change each time.
- Try a spinoff when the doors start repeating. There are five of them and they are all free.
Would You Rather But It Happens Gameplay: Doors, Choices and Chaos
The whole game is one question repeated. Two doors, one choice, and a consequence you cannot undo. There is no score, no level and nothing to collect.
Servers are small on purpose. Eight players at most, usually six or seven, so everybody sees everybody else’s choice land. A round that is funny alone is much funnier with seven other people going through it.
That also explains the rating. About 78 in every 100 votes are likes, which is the lowest of any game we have looked at recently, and it is the sort of number a game gets when the joke lands for most people and annoys the rest.
There are no badges at all, so nothing keeps track of how many rounds you have played or how far you got. Anyone quoting a completion rate for this game is making it up.
The Five Spinoffs
Six weeks after the original opened, the studio put out four more versions of it in two days, and added a fifth three weeks later. All of them are free.
| Version |
Visits |
When it arrived |
| The original |
127.2 million |
January 2026, and still the biggest by a distance |
| Brainrot |
22.4 million |
4 March 2026, and the biggest of the spinoffs |
| Number 2 |
18.7 million |
3 March 2026, the straight sequel |
| Memes |
13.9 million |
3 March 2026 |
| Horror |
1.7 million |
3 March 2026, the quiet one |
| Cursed |
172,174 |
26 March 2026, the newest and smallest |
Together the five have taken about 57 million visits, which is close to half of what the original has done on its own. If the doors are getting familiar, this is the answer rather than any script.

What You Can Buy
| Pass |
Price |
What it does |
| Admin Commands |
2,199 Robux |
Commands to play with, and 83 percent of the shop’s price on its own |
| Ride 67 with extra speed |
399 Robux |
A faster ride, in the developer’s words |
| The Moon Pass |
49 Robux |
A cheap extra with no description on it |
| Sprint |
15 Robux |
Run faster, and the cheapest thing here |
Four passes and 2,662 Robux for all of them. One item is nearly the whole price: the admin pass at 2,199, which is the most expensive single pass we have seen in a game this casual.
Nothing in the shop tells you which door is the good one, so none of it wins the game for you. All four were last edited on the same day in July 2026.
More Doors At 100,000 Likes
The last line of the game’s description is a promise: more doors when it reaches 100,000 likes. That is unusual, because it comes with a counter anybody can read.
The game sits at 78,465 likes today. That leaves 21,535 to go, so the next batch of doors is a real distance away rather than around the corner.
It is also the reason this game has never needed a code. When the developer wants to hand something out, the target is public and the reward is a content update rather than a reward you type in.
How Busy It Is Now
The record is 24,911 players at once, set on 28 February 2026, about five weeks after it opened. It runs around a thousand today, with a best day in the last month of just over three thousand.
The launch was the fastest we have measured: 127 million visits in seven months. The spinoffs arriving a month later are part of why, since each one sends players back to the original.
The game was updated the day before this page was written, so it is still being worked on.
Codes and Scripts
There are no codes and no code box. Our Would You Rather But It Happens codes page covers the like target instead, which is the only thing the developer has actually promised.
There are no working scripts either. Our Would You Rather But It Happens script page shows what the thirty two folders carrying this game’s name really hold, which is three files copied between them.
Tips for New Would You Rather But It Happens Players
- Read the whole door, not the first three words. The catch is usually at the end of the line.
- Do not pick the funny one every time. Half the doors are worse than they sound.
- Stay for the other players’ choices. Watching seven people get it wrong is most of the game.
- Wait out a bad effect rather than leaving. Most of them end on their own.
- Skip the admin pass unless you want to mess about. At 2,199 Robux it is nearly the whole shop and it does not help you choose.
- Try the spinoffs when the doors repeat. Five of them exist and they cost nothing.
- Ignore any page selling codes for this game. There is no code box in it.
