Build to Survive hands six players a patch of ground, a hammer and a short countdown. Then a wave of monsters arrives. What you build in the gap is the whole game, and every player gets their own square to fill any way they like.
It has been running since early 2021 and has passed 404 million visits, which makes it one of the older building games still busy every day. This covers how the rounds work, what the shop sells, and the nine other Roblox games with nearly this exact name.

How to Play Build to Survive
There is no tutorial to sit through and nothing to unlock first. You get your ground and your hammer straight away.
- Load into a server with up to five other players. Everyone gets their own patch of ground.
- Build with the hammer during the gap before the wave. Blocks cost Cash, so start with walls.
- Seal it completely, roof included. A gap anywhere is the same as no wall at all.
- Survive the wave of monsters that spawns each round. Staying alive is what pays.
- Spend the Cash you earn on more blocks next round, and build bigger.
Build to Survive Gameplay: Why Your Base Is Only Yours
Each player builds on a separate square, and the game keeps track of whose is whose. Nobody can knock your walls down for you, and you cannot lean on somebody else’s fort either. What you finish before the wave is what you get to hide behind.
Because a server only holds six people, a round is quiet and quick. That also means you can watch what everyone else builds and steal the good ideas next round.
Every Gamepass and What It Does
There are 15 passes and 14 of them are on sale, from 10 Robux up to 1,999. Two of them change the difficulty rather than the look of things, which is worth knowing before you meet someone who owns them.

Invincible means monsters cannot hurt that player at all, and Ban Hammer takes any monster out in one hit. Between them they turn the wave into a formality, so a player who never seems worried has probably bought one.
Nature Pack is the only pass no longer for sale. If you see somebody using those blocks, they bought it while it was still in the shop.
The Two Versions Of This Game
Awesome Fun Games runs this game twice. The main one opened in February 2021 and the second, with TESTING in its title, opened six months later. They play the same way.
The odd part is that the second one is not a leftover. It has passed 264 million visits of its own and usually holds about as many players as the main game at any moment. Between them that is over 660 million visits for what is basically one game with two front doors.
Games With A Very Similar Name
This is one of the most copied names on Roblox. If a guide, code list or script mentions one of these, it is not about this game.
- Build to Survive with TESTING in the title, the same team’s second copy of this game. It plays the same and is just as busy.
- Build to Survive! by another team, which has even more visits than this one and is a different game entirely.
- Build and Survive and Build & Survive, two more separate games, and some of them do hand out codes.
- Build to Survive the Night, Build to Survive MONSTERS, Build to Survive the Bombs and Build to Survive the Robots, all older or smaller games under the same idea.

Who Makes Build to Survive
It comes from a group called Awesome Fun Games, which has grown to about 8.7 million members. The game opened in February 2021 and was still getting updates this month, five and a half years later.
Players like it a lot. About 96 in every 100 votes on it are likes, and nearly 3 in every 100 visits end with somebody adding it to their favourites, which is high for a game this old.
Tips for New Build to Survive Players
- Close the box before you make it pretty. A plain sealed cube survives a wave that a fancy open house does not.
- Do not forget the roof. Anything that can reach you from above will.
- Spend your first Cash on more blocks rather than on paint or themed sets.
- Build upward once the ground is walled. Height buys you time when the wave breaks through.
- Watch what the other five players build. Six people in a server means five free ideas every round.
- Claim the daily reward every login. It adds up faster than a single round of Cash does.
- Check the title before you settle in. Several games share this name and none of them play quite the same.
- If you buy one pass, the cheap ones change the most. Search at 10 Robux saves more time than paint does.
Build to Survive FAQ
How do you earn Cash?
By playing rounds and surviving the waves. Cash is what buys the blocks you build with, and there are no codes that hand it to you.
Can other players wreck your base?
No. Everyone builds on their own square and the game keeps them separate, so your walls are only ever tested by the monsters.
How many players are in a server?
Six, which makes rounds quick and quiet compared to most building games.
What is the most expensive gamepass?
Flying Sleigh at 1,999 Robux. The cheapest is Search at 10 Robux, and that one is probably the better buy.
Which passes actually make it easier?
