ZOO or OOF is a Roblox party hide and seek game by Dropping a Banger where most players spawn as zoo animals trying to escape, and one player spawns as the zookeeper with a tranquilizer trying to catch every animal before the timer runs out. The animals win by surviving the timer, and the zookeeper wins by catching everyone first. What makes the game interesting is that the maps are full of animal dummies that look exactly like real players, so the zookeeper has to figure out which ones are real and which ones are just decoys.
The game launched in May 2025 and has grown to over 191 million visits with around 8,400 players online at any time. Dropping a Banger updates the game with new maps, animal skins, and seasonal events on a regular schedule. The weapons in game are fake and the animals are just dummies, so it stays a friendly party experience that works well for kids. If you want help getting an edge on either side, check the scripts page linked at the bottom of this guide.

How to Play ZOO or OOF
- Wait in the lobby until a match starts. The game picks one player to be the zookeeper and turns everyone else into a random zoo animal. You do not get to pick your role since it is random each round.
- If you are an animal, find a spot to hide. The maps are full of animal dummies that look just like you, so the trick is standing perfectly still next to them so the keeper cannot tell which one is real.
- If you are the zookeeper, walk around the map and watch for animals that move or react. Animal dummies do not move at all, so any animal that turns to look at you or runs away is a real player.
- Animals can taunt the keeper to mess with them. Taunting gives away your spot but it is fun, and you can also lead the keeper away from teammates if you are confident you can escape.
- The round ends when the keeper catches every animal (keeper wins) or the timer runs out (animals win). Earnings carry over to the lobby where you can unlock new animal skins and emotes.
ZOO or OOF Gameplay and Strategy
Hiding as an animal is mostly about being still. The maps are designed so that real animal dummies blend in everywhere, and a real player who stands still next to a group of them is almost impossible to spot. New players give themselves away by walking around or rotating the camera while the keeper is nearby. The best hiders pick a spot early in the round and commit to it, only moving when they are sure the keeper has walked past.
Playing as the zookeeper is more active and requires reading player behavior. Real animals will sometimes flinch, look at you, or shuffle their position when you get close, while dummies stay totally frozen. Sweeping through clusters of animals and watching for tiny movements is way faster than tranquilizing every animal you see, which wastes ammo on dummies. Map knowledge also matters since some hiding spots are way more popular than others.
Taunting is the high-risk high-reward animal move. Taunting lights you up to the keeper but it also lets you bait them away from teammates, and a good taunter can keep the keeper distracted for the entire round while other animals just hide quietly. New players should not taunt at all until they have learned the maps well enough to know where to run after they taunt, because getting caught after a taunt is usually a fast trip back to the lobby.
Tips for New ZOO or OOF Players
- Stand still next to animal dummies, do not run. The number one tell that an animal is a real player is movement. If you stand perfectly still, even the camera not rotating, the keeper has a hard time spotting you in a group of dummies.
- If you are the keeper, watch for tiny movements. Real animals sometimes turn their head or shuffle slightly when you walk past. Dummies are completely frozen, so any micro movement is a giveaway.
- Save your taunt for the right moment. Taunting near a teammate gets that teammate caught instead of helping them. Taunt only when you are far from other animals and have a clear escape route.
- Learn the map layouts. Each map has popular hiding spots that experienced keepers check first. Spending a few rounds just exploring the map without trying to win teaches you where to avoid and where you can hide that less experienced keepers will not check.
- Play both roles. Time as the keeper teaches you what gives animals away, and time as an animal teaches you which spots keepers check first. Players who only play one role hit a skill ceiling fast.
