Dragon Ball Evolution is a Roblox game that lets you live out the Dragon Ball fantasy, training your character, blasting enemies with ki attacks, and chasing down transformations like Super Saiyan. It’s still in alpha, so things are rough around the edges, but the core idea is solid. You pick a race, grind your stats, and try to become the strongest fighter on the server.
What You Actually Do in the Game
You start by choosing a race, which shapes how your character develops. Saiyans get access to transformations, which is obviously what most people are here for. Other races have their own perks, but let’s be honest, everyone wants to go Super Saiyan.
Most of your time is spent grinding. You train to raise your power level, fight NPCs or other players to earn XP, and slowly unlock new abilities and forms. Ki blasts, melee combos, and signature moves like Kamehameha are all in the game. Landing a clean combo on someone feels genuinely satisfying when it works.
PvP is a big part of the experience too. You can challenge other players, test out your build, and see how your power level stacks up. The combat has a bit of a learning curve, especially when you’re still weak and everyone else seems to be one-shotting you from across the map.
The Good, the Frustrating, and Where It Stands Now
The transformation system is the highlight. Hitting Super Saiyan for the first time after a long grind actually feels rewarding. The visual effects are decent for a Roblox game, and the power spike you feel going into a new form keeps you motivated to keep pushing.
The grind is brutal though. Like, really brutal. Getting to the good transformations takes hours of repetitive training, and if you hit a wall early on, it’s easy to just quit. The game also carries the usual alpha problems, including bugs, unbalanced moves, and features that feel half-finished. Some players report skills not working right, and the player count can be pretty low depending on when you hop on.
It’s not a dead game, but it’s not exactly thriving either. Updates come through occasionally and the dev seems to still be working on it, given the version number is sitting at Alpha 3.87.1. If you’re a big Dragon Ball fan and you’ve got patience, there’s something here worth trying. Just don’t expect a polished, finished experience.
